Older boat, but in great condition. I ended up not taking this listing, but she is well cared for and the owner was looking to list for $20,000. That’s a great entry point for boating on the Chesapeake Bay!

Join the BWTB for a quick (and fairly spontaneous) tour of a 1996 Sabre 386. She’s mot available for purchase, but it does give you a good look at another quality sailboat that was recently on the market. I believe she sold in the $160-170k range. Anyway… enjoy you scalywags!

Professional yacht buying tips from a full time yacht broker
❤wonderful boat.
That's an awesome boat!
IF you are in the area, lets get you aboard your next forever boat!!!
As soon as I upload the listing I will link it. Confirming information
No link to the listing?
Great e walk thru - is this boat still on the market? Do you know of and Mason 44s with the Pullman berth forward on the market?
Currently still available!
I think sellers should get surveys done then put the boat out for sale - with the current survey. All this cup holder showing is BS
Is she still available?
Yessir. Recently reduced
Must be FREE?
It was listed at $155,000 but sold for slightly less.
Hello
See you soon
thanks for the great example of how this boat should look.
Thanks, but all I did was show up and take a video, lol.
THERE IS A VERY GOOD 1984 386 FOR SALE FOR $25,000
How much would it cost to ship a vessel like this to Europe?
Shipping isn’t cheap… but I’d say $25-30k
Price ? No point posting a video without posting the price. Moving on !
The boat sold last year for $112,000
"The broker with a beard" I love you already
Neat
Really nice layout below deck.
Thank you!
Хорошая Лодка!!!👍👍👍Благодарствую Эд!!!🤝🤝🤝
Beautiful vessel. Excellent design with meticulously detailed interior!
We agree!
Why no tour of the cabin? I would have loved to see it.
??? Did you watch the whole video???
@@brokerwiththebeard I just looked again. I have no idea how I missed it??
@@chuck571 No problem! I appreciate the extra view, lol! Please like, subscribe and share...
Beautiful boat.
We agree!
❤❤❤
She’s pretty amazing, right?
@@brokerwiththebeard yes super
That frig is cool. I need some pimp shit on my tayana 55 . The switches are nice too. And a electric pole on the front for the spinnaker
True… and do you even have a fully functioning galley if you don’t have a built in espresso machine???
Literally my dream boat. Thanks for the review!
It’s available!!!
I’ve been enjoying the podcast!
Awesome! Glad that you have been listening!
I love Island Packets but I'm a bigger fan of the newer models. My biggest problem with these "older" Island packets is that self tacking boom in the front and the cutter rigging. If I where to buy it I would want a break to solent rig it and put in a self tacking jib to get rid of the boom. Solent rig is way better set up for down wind running and those booms use up all your fore deck.
I’m actually doing that on my Pearson 365
Does it have an engine? Not mentioned, as far as I could tell.
Absolutely! It’s a Yanmar 56 hp with 3800 hours. Well maintained… feel free to reach out to me.
Nice boat, even has a 50 caliber cannon pointing forward for those pirates and such.
Beware ALL ye who cross our path 🏴☠️
A fabulous looking boat. I'm living on a 34ft Grampian monohull. Looking at the cat, it does make me think, particularly about living space.
It was very comfortable and this one had a lot of extras on it. Very well thought out design.
Love this boat!! Never seen one like it!! Got a great vibe, seasoned cruiser, will all those creature comforts. Thanks for the tour!! ✌️🏳️🌈✌️
You bet! She is quite unique! I’m looking forward to rafting up to it this season (hopefully)!
Beautiful
Thank you
A work of art
Thanks! Her new owner loves her!
Beautiful boat. My absolute favorite hunter is the 50 cc. This is definitely my second favorite 😊
She is still available!
Excellent advice very good point! I normally have to travel quite a distance to see a good boat! I’ve realized the broker can be more important than the boat itself! I drove eight hours one day for the broker to tell me he doesn’t have the key for the boat when we got to the boat! It eventually worked its way out. We just looked at other boats lol.
Wow! Preparation is key! I’m glad you still made the best out of it.
Excellent point thank you!!
Very welcome
Somebody else’s boat is always the best boat to be on! I enjoy the podcast the captains of rockstar. She has a great attitude.
She’s one of the best!
Absolutely like the beard mate.
And you, mate, are now my favorite
That's a nice one Ed!
Thanks!
Does this boat have working air conditioning? ✌️🏳️🌈✌️
This one did, but has sold. Nice boat though.
@@brokerwiththebeard oops thank you!
Enjoyed the video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for the price.
You bet
$998k - nice boat but the price…….
We can negotiate 😉
Stick to motorboats pal.
I’ll stick to living my best life… but thanks for the input
Motorboats suck!
What a fun boat for a sailing family.
I was just looking at this boat online. MIchelle M at S&J has tried to get us to buy a 57rs for quite some time. Every time I see one of these come up for sale I think... I don't want to be in that much debt :)
If you are working with Michele, you are working with one of the best in the business. She is a dear friend and mentor to me.
Nice boat
10:35 high quality boat!
Thanks Mate!
Are you "brokers" out of your minds?? 30+ year old boat, 162k?? Really?? No way I'd pay that money for that old boat unless it had gold toilets I could sell. The sailboat market is crashing folks... Almost all listing on yachtworld show "price reduction' Don't buy any boat..wait 6 months and this boat, like ghe others, will be 30% less. It's happening.
OR… It could be several variables that adjust the price “higher” than you’d pay. Likewise with the amount of price reduction you see online… it couldn’t possibly be the time of year when many reduced prices to entice buyers EVERY YEAR. But I’m just a “broker”. What do I know…
@@brokerwiththebeard , Ty for the reply, and yes much of what you say is true, with that being said... I also understand that the "Broker" is not responsible for cost of the boats storage, maintenance nor monthly dock fees...so in reality you can list it at a ridiculous price, and let it set for months unsold, while the owner suffers with all those cost....wishing on a pipe dream payout. We all know the 2 best days of boat ownership....the day you buy it, and the day you sell it.
As a broker, why would I want to have a boat sit? We get paid when the boat sells, not when it sits. I only know how I do business… but I never set the price. I consult with my seller, analyze the market, compare comps, and evaluate carrying costs. I do this multiple times during the listings “active period”. But that’s just me. Jeff, the listing broker on this one, works the same way.
@@brokerwiththebeard , I guess I'm just sour on 'Brokers' because of a bad apple, Due to me finding out much later that that particular broker had received many offers, some of which I would have accepted, but he never told me about because he wanted a higher price to get a bigger cut. In the mean time I still lost $$ due to paying all those previously mentioned fees, and wasting my time which I'll never get back... Yeah you seem like a straight up guy, so in that case I bid you Fair Winds...
I am sorry that you had that experience... I am looking to change the game by doing things in the most professional way possible. I am happy to help in anyway should you find yourself in a situation that warrants it.
Is your video reversed? That galley appears to be on the port side
The galley is on the port side, but several of the views are facing aft…
Good video. BTW, the word "topsides" as relates to boats is: "The topsides on a boat, ship, watercraft, or floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, is that part of the hull between the waterline and the deck. It includes the visible parts of the bow, stern, sheer, and, if present, tumblehome." It is not the deck area.
I use it as a general term, as is the nomenclature of where I grew up… on the water, on boats, in the Chesapeake Bay. But I appreciate your attention to detail!
I mention it as it is so confusing that the "top" is really the "side". I always say to newcomers that the hardest thing about leaning to sail is learning the language. @@brokerwiththebeard
Very True! and each region has different uses or definitions for the same word... I guess sailing will always keep us learning and expanding our vocabulary as well as our horizons. I hope you are enjoying the channel!@@roncanizares9966
Watch out for the chain plates. Numerous IPs have had failures. Cost of repair is substantial.
YES! That is why this is such a great deal! The current owner already had Mack Services in Florida REPLACE all of the chain plates. (approx. $11k)
@@brokerwiththebeard 30 Years old............
Aloha. We’re ALL CHAINPLATES REPLACED ? In your opening line you said pulled and inspected not replaced. Thanks @@brokerwiththebeard
Yes! Replaced. Thank you for the specification!@@detaileast
That was in the late 80's and early 90's due to the type of metal used. By the time they reached 1995 that was no longer an issue. And, he said they pulled the chain plates for inspection to ensure there was no issue.
