    Loving your channel! FYI, your table saw blade is raised way too high. For safety (and cleaner cuts) your blade should only be about one tooth higher than the piece you're cutting. And in your case, that would also give you enough space to fit the work piece on the table without tilting it! Keep up the good work😊

    you are entertaining and you are learning as you proceed. I have to wonder how far you will advance... I used to make traps for larger animals, the traps were much like the rat trap you made. an exception was the trap door. It slid through a channel on either side. The trigger mechanism was a slight ramp just short of the bait. When you use your table saw, make a crosscut sled instead😁 of that miter gauge.Have a BLESSED DAY

    That's the way to do it. Best of luck & have fun! The table saw is a great find for free. I notice it doesn't have a riving knife (splitter). If I can give you one piece of advice it would be to see if you can find one to fit or find a video showing how to make a custom one (just need a piece of steel the same thickness as the blade & some ingenuity). I know a lot of Americans do without this safety feature but it really is a lifesaver (finger & hand saver more accurately) as kickback can do all sorts of damage (check out some videos on that too). That is one piece of machinery that needs to be treated with respect. Great to see you've already started generating some money off it. Woodworking is a great hobby which can be self-sustaining & help build up your tool collection. Exciting times :)

    • @TheBlessedCarpenterCo
      @TheBlessedCarpenterCo День назад

      It doesn’t have a splitter and I have seen SOME information on it but after reading your comment I’m absolutely going to be doing my Research again and learning more about it and figuring out how to put one in. I don’t plan on losing ANY fingers 😅 I really appreciate all your Feedback back!!💯

    • @treecycle4631
      @treecycle4631 9 часов назад

      @@TheBlessedCarpenterCo A riving knife won't save your fingers but it could save your head, chest or stomach if you are standing in the wrong position when passing wood through. Rather than making a ramp for the tablesaw to run your wood on to the bench just make a platform to go under the saw so the table is either level or slightly higher than the workbench. Making the wood lift off the table as it is being cut would be quite dangerous possibly resulting in kickback. Just keep listening and learning.

    Be careful which pallets you use , some are treated with chemicals. I think the one you want to use are stamped with HT ( heat treated ). They are much safer to use.

  • @fdort3971

    Good for you! Me too. By simply typing in a search labeled free on marketplace, roadside riches and the local business park....I've gotten so much stuff! If you drive around your local business park and ask about pallets, you can get some great wood once it's milled. Make sure you don't take the blue or yellow pallets...they normally have to send those back. Always keep "break down " tools in your truck. Invest in a metal pallet breaker bar. Nipper pliers (they have a rounded head that looks like a thumb and finger coming together to make an O.) have a built in fulcrum which makes removing nails easier. Flat pry bars and claw hammer. Don't bother with pallets made from plywood...those are surprisingly just junk. The best ones are made from hardwood...usually used for heavy machinery. As you sell stuff, invest in the next tool. At some point I'm getting an air compressor with a denailer attachment. Restore habitat for humanity normally has a great section of used tools dirt cheap.

    Your enthusiasm is contagious, wish you well on your woodworking journey. You seem to be acquiring a lot of stuff to help you, my advice is to stay organized. Nothing more irritating than trying to hunt down missing items. The pallet storage organizer was a good start. Perhaps try making some boxes or crates from pallet wood to keep stuff in. Or a French cleat wall or pegboard behind your workbench.

    Pay attention to how and when you use your brad nailer! The brad nails are NOT for structural use. I generally only use them to hold peices together while the glue dries or for like the backing panels on a cabinet. For strructural you want screws or heavy guage nails. For Quick easy builds with pallet wood that sell fast try making seasonal/holliday stuff. Like snowmen, hearts, bunnys and so on. they only require a few boards and some paint. They sell fast for good money.

    When you drill holes to mount the brackets for your tools, consider drilling into the mortar because if you ever move out, it is much cheaper & easier to replace mortar than blocks. Preferably drill into the horizontal mortar for additional holding of the plugs you put into the holes for your screws.

    Thank you for sharing. You have a new subscriber. Great estate sale find. Another great place to find good tools cheap is Pawn shops. I got my trim router for $15 at a small pawn shop. The national chain pawn shops will charge more. Thrift stores are hit or miss. DO NOT make a ramp on your table saw to match your workbench. Raise your table saw to match the workbench. Adding a ramp will cause potential problems with Kick Back. There should be a way to raise the base that supports your table saw. The base on my table saw has holes at one inch apart. I can raise the base up or down one inch increments. Looking at that base to your saw it looks like you have that option too. If raising the table saw will make it too high to use, lower the workbench. God bless and keep up the good work.
