W video honestly. it really was sad to see that cloutiful was cheating but comparing his key hold distributions to other speed players showed that theyre probably legit (at least for tapping) so thats comforting, but it makes it harder to get that +1 for everyone else like me (im falling into 4 digit soon help me)

Hello, lowly top 50 player here 🥴 I used to tell people in my chat I had faith there was no cheaters in the top 100 in the game's current state and I'm not sure why I was so naive to be quite honest, I didn't really think anyone would be cheating let alone A TOP 3 player and it came as a shock and realization that cheating is definitely a very real thing. I do still have faith that a vast vast majority of 2 digits are legit but after this I do imagine there has to be at least like a couple cheaters throughout the top 100. very nice video and I'm hoping stuff like this sparks some sort of positive change or at least some kind of attention toward the cheat detection

As a general rule of thumb: Everyone higher rank than you is cheating, anyone below you isn't trying hard enough

There is a player in the top 10000 that I'm suspicious because their rank up graph looks unrealistic, but I'm not sure since I haven't taken the time to examine the replays yet, only the rank up graph.

I think that its rare that cheaters only cheat for some time and than stop. usually they can't replicate what they could without the cheats and then they go back to cheating. Not always, but most of the time for sure

Is it really a "cheating profile" in the first place? Now in the proof video he switched to his osu profile Right? Some are calling it his "cheat profile". In my opinion it is no macro, since only one input for one movement is send, so in what sense is this cheating? At best it is a creative way to tap - Reverse tapping. I don't think this is cheating like a relax hack at all. He still has to "tap" and he still has to time it. Now I saw another version using the wooting softwae (Dynamic keystrokes) to send MULTIPLE INPUTS of the key when doing one movement: In that case it could be considered a macro right? But that is not what he did at all. He has to move down for one tap, then move up, aka release, for another. I am not the only one who also sees this side or? :) (Ps entertaining video)

Osu!mania catches cheaters using hold time and has been for awhile now. There was this user known as Transcendence that made a osu!mania replay analyzer and he had scrubbed like every top 50 loved song and had found a bunch of cheaters with it. Now the tool only works with mania and has been for the past 3 years, but I'm sure if someone got into contact with him he could probably scrub through all osu!loved songs and find cheaters with that. Granted idk how active he is now.

2:05 Hi, i did that once for relax lol but also lazy taking the top 10.000 and getting the first 5 Downloadable scores of their top 100 plays. it was in total 50k replays but yeah...

the only reason cloutiful didn't get caught by the anticheat is because it doesn't account for macros from practically whitelisted programs actual cheats that include aim assist, timewarp, etc, are constantly getting detected

A lot of them could be. I'm not very familiar with cheating having never done so myself but it seems like it's quite easy to get into and with Cloutiful managing to reach rank 3 before finally being called out for it I imagine there are many players not getting caught any time soon or possibly ever. The game is in a truly awful state (regarding "cheating") right now due to evolving keyboard software and honestly I don't think there's a way to fight against cheats without being extremely strict about input devices and potentially even forcing liveplays which wouldn't really be healthy for the game at all.

While the game is singleplayer, cheaters still ruin map leaderboards. As someone who farms top 50s and #1s its just unbearable bc you can never get a « clean » leaderboard with legit players.

yeah top 100 top 1000 top 10000 top 100000, and does anyone think that someone will see one by one each player and check if he is cheating? yeah probably nobody. There are a lot of cheaters out there, and that can not be changed..

I'm going to say I want to clear up this misconception of somehow proving someone is legit by playing at a live event on a different computer. This will somewhat be true if you're talking about the average player, for top level cheaters if they truly want to get away with it they have to be good enough to reach a similar rank legit. It is insanely rare for someone who has to fake their entire skill level to really survive a long time among top players. People like mrekk could be actively cheating and he'd still be the best player in the game without cheats (you fix small mistakes rather than faking entire plays). The only thing that is actually proven by playing on a different system at a live event is that the player has the capability to get those scores without cheating. Nobody can actually prove their definitive legitimacy. This is purely anecdotal but through all the years I've come to know about at least one person who streamed regularly and displayed their skill level on LANs who was in fact cheating and is still currently unbanned. I won't name who it is or say it is completely proven since there is not enough evidence to get them banned. What I mean with this is that with enough luck and proficiency in hiding cheats you can essentially get away with it forever even if your entire persona is pretty public and a lot of your scores are easily accessible. It's good that we don't live in a time where things like AQNs replay editor were easily accessible and undetected for years. Public cheats like maple are often times undetected but the frequency of it being detected is enough to make it not worth to use for any top player. There will be private cheats that people are using right now that will probably never get detected and there are even tablet driver based aim assists that people could use live or during events without anyone noticing. TLDR: nobody can actually prove they never have and never will cheat and anticheat efforts will inevitably be behind cheat efforts but we can do our best to catch out as many things as possible.

Im rank 2k and I told my friends that if cheathers were detectable I would be around 500 atleast, they laughed at me. After cloutiful drama Just makes me more confident on my argument, thank god I only play for Fun and tournaments so idcr about cheaters on high ranks leaderboards
