In the southern portion the water level in the ponds is higher than usual, but I don’t any see standing water on the roads or in the yards. The worst for us was the entire back fence coming down. I am surprised that the fence shards did not take out our lanai. As of today things are drying out pretty quickly. It’s actually a beautiful day today with some cooler weather. I read that the boardwalk at Lake Sumter Landing was partially flooded.

Awesome! Best of luck to you in finding the right home. If you have not been already then the Street of Dreams has furnished model homes. It helps you see what the home looks like decorated and how much space would be left over with furnishings. Luckily, mortgage rates have finally dropped 🎉.

That is exciting! I remember the feeling of counting down the days until moving time. It's a great place to live with so many activities, clubs and festivals.

I completely agree. A great thing about living here is that for those with limitations like myself (spinal cord injury) it is still fun to get out, feel the energy, watch people dance and listen to the band. I do not have to worry if my wheelchair is going to fit or if the venue is going to be accessible.

Those farm chickens really know how to strut.

To be able to have state of the art schools, affordable new construction family homes and a sense of community is priceless.

Ron you’re just going to have to go to Brownwood and show them how it’s done then lol. Get on the dance floor and show us your best moves. This band is a dance band. I see people feeling the music, dancing in their own style and having a great time. Looking for slower paced music? There are bands at the squares each night playing everything from Motown, Country, etc. Something for everyone.

You can't beat free live entertainment 365 days a year! Can't wait until they build Eastport (the next town square). Last year we did New Years at Brownwood and it was so much fun!

The opening of the new way to get to and from Magnolia is such an easy drive. When compared to the old way (Water Lily) it does save time. The new areas are really coming along. When you return you will find that out the back where Meggison dead ends at 470 they have bulldozed all those trees and are making it a commercial development. However, I do not think the property is owned by The Villages.

So true. You only get so many trips around the sun. My spinal cord injury made me more aware of that.

I agree. Colony Cottage is so beautifully decorated. The colors, patterns and furniture work well together.

Downtown Middleton will have shops and dining. Most of the buildings are already constructed, but they are not occupied or open yet. Abbott’s Frozen Custard, 4 Rivers Smokehouse and Victory Family Sports Grill will be opening in the near future. Mustard Seed Decor & Gifts is now open. There is a building for a drive-through coffee shop, but it does not have a tenant as of yet. Hi neighbor! You have the lanai that my father-in-law dreams about lol. He moved here last year and wishes he bought a home with street facing lanai to people watch. He may even move to the Eastport area in the future to achieve that. You know what they say...a lot of villagers end up moving several times.

Yes, you can have a fence, but there are some restrictions (e.g. privacy fence vs view fence depending on the lot location). I guess it’s just a matter of preference. From what I’ve seen there are more cyclists using the biking paths rather than the multimodal here. I was an ultra marathon cyclist before my spinal cord injury. If I was still doing that then I would prefer the multimodal path for faster speed. Traveling at a high rate of speed could be dangerous for walkers and pets on the walking/biking path. The cyclist in the video may also have an e-bike and prefer the multimodal. Also, McNeil has so much construction going on near the path that they may have found it easier to use the road for now. Good eye on the Trans Am logo! We’re always on the run from Buford T. Justice. East bound and down.

It really is! The Villages has a different theme for each rec center. They are beautifully decorated. We have a walk through that shows more of this rec center coming soon.
