My 2024 Highlights.
Here is every hit from my 2024 season except for hit #27 (The only one not captured on a livestream. It feels surreal that I was able to make a video on my success in baseball at this level. I never would've thought I could play at all at the next level, let alone be named for a conference award. I thank the Lord for the many blessings in my life, and the opportunity to play baseball is just one of many.

Season Finale | 2024 Episode 6
Просмотров 3256 месяцев назад
We conclude this 2024 season with an emotional last episode. Like so often in life and in baseball, things don't always go how we want them to. We bid farewell to some of the best ball players I've ever been around and some of my best friends for life. Whenever you invest three years of your life with friends and spend more time with them than your family during the season, that is an emotional...
Home Opener | 2024 Episode 5

We open up our home schedule with a four game series vs. Lyndon. This series was a frustrating one in that we felt we didn't play up to our full potential at home. We will try our best to learn from it and move on to next weekend, another home set, this time vs. a familiar foe, Husson.
Lesley Series | 2024 Episode 4

Continuing our conference schedule with a trip down to face a tough team: Lesley University. We competed well in two of the four games this weekend, and feel a little down that we couldn't take one from them. But now we move on and look ahead to Lyndon for this weekend's four game slate on our home diamond. Congrats to the guys that won awards this year. They were well deserved.

We get outside and back into playing games for the first time in three weeks, in bulk. Shoutout to Thomas College- they've been raking. We were able to split with our friends from Farmington and get back in the win column. Spencer Harman went a complete nine inning game to get his first college win. Praying for you Cyrus. A different style of video to help bridge the gap between videos. This one I enjoyed a lot because of the reflection and memories, and it reminds me how blessed I am to be where I am. Everyone has a story and that story is rarely simple. There are always ups and downs and twists and turns. I'm happy to be able to tell mine. Background music- Aldous Young: Gta

I enjoyed this video a lot, looks like you have some really good hand eye coordination and can put the bat on the ball. However, at 12:00, is probably the clearest example with your struggles, is that you never learned how to properly load and pitching eventually caught up to get you. Several of the clips you load too late and just get beat.
How fast do the pitchers throw?
I’ve played in little Fenway🎉😮😮
Hard to believe was HS baseball in 2019. Looks like the 90s.
Is that colin
It still looks like you're dropping your back shoulder
This was really cool to see and should resonate with many people. You're gonna be very grateful to watch this video in 5, 10, 20 years. You're getting the chance to continue playing, something that most all of us don't. Most of our careers end in high school or sooner. But we still love baseball and look back on all the fond memories. Best of luck and God Bless
P.S. Thank your parents/family for taking all these pics and videos.
Thank you for this. I am indeed very lucky to keep playing longer than most people.
My baseball number is 1 too!
This is awesome❤❤
I’m in the mlb

Hey Ricky I came from your baseball journey video to watch this, I’ve subscribed and would like to see your progress. If you’re interested I can give you some suggestions I was a decent college player and currently coach high school/travel in california
I’m always willing to hear feedback from people that have been around the game longer than me. My email is posted in my channel bio, appreciate it.
That Youk stance though 😍

I'm 10 years older than you, played PONY baseball and travelled around my state playing summer ball my whole childhood. I come from a pretty wealthy area (SE Michigan) with a lot of great ball players, a few even went on to play AAA and one in the MLB. Because of that politics in high school sports really turned me off of baseball. The coach would take bribes from the rich parents, while the poor kids like myself would be put on JV 2 years in a row as a junior, like yourself. On my 2nd year JV, I had the highest OBP of .525, the most hits, the most walks, the most doubles, and was 3rd for the most steals (I was usually lead-off); never did I once get offered to move up to varsity that season... I tried out my senior year, and the coach had the audacity to take me on the condition i ride the bench so donor's kid could play, so I told my coach to 'eat a d*ck' and never really looked. Good on you for sticking it
first comment? Excited for the video
Hey, I have a surprise for you. You just gained a new subscriber

Congrats on the walk off That must be an incredible feeling!
great vid
the storytelling style in this video🔥🔥🔥🔥
Underrated channel great vid dude
Me and my son played backyard ball a lot. I was a catcher in school, not very good but I liked baseball. Now as a high school senior he has become the #1 ranked catcher in the state. It was an amazing journey that brings a tear to my eye thinking back all those years of playing catch in the backyard.
That’s awesome! Congrats!
Congrats
hey another question - did you every try to gain weight? like by just eating a lot and / or hitting the weight room? or did your coaches suggest it? i saw a video that analyzed weight in baseball players and it said it does help for the most part but it also depends on your position.
I've been trying for a few years by eating all the calories I can and hitting the weight room. It has made a difference. I've mentioned in other videos that in D3 you can't devote 100% of your time to your sport, you do the best you can with the time you have and that's what I try to do.
@@rickygoupille8050 in essence, the video seemed to say that extra weight can help in pitching and hitting but can slow you down in base running and fielding.
cool video. If I may ask - how did you get such high quality footage when you were young? It looks just as good as when you were grown.
Appreciate it. My parents got some videos here and there growing up. I feel blessed to have so many photos and videos from playing to be able to relive memories. My dad was always taking pictures and would beat himself up for not taking enough videos. But clearly I still ended up with quite a bit.
@@rickygoupille8050 That's awesome of your parents. I'm a dad to a 9 yr old. I feel sometimes like I'm the only parent out there getting video. It seems the times when I don't record is when something exciting happens lol. So it's like you gotta just try to record everything to get a few gems. Respect to your dad. It's not easy storing all this footage. It takes time. He captured many good memories
@@rickygoupille8050 Do you know what camera he used?
@@nofurtherwest3474 I can’t thank him enough for all he did to document the early years up until now. He beats himself up for the same things: missing the big moments. I know for pictures he uses a Nikon d300 I believe, and for videos we’ve used different things, mostly an older Cannon UHD camcorder but now smart phones are just as good for quality.
I play for SpaceBears 7u
I’m a freshman in hs I got cut from my Jv team and it’s crushed me. I been playing in a different league and working on my power and arm strength. My hope is to make it my sophomore year
Control what you can control man and just work hard
Great video Rick!
I love baseball so much I learned to hit before I was good at walking
There’s no way I’m number10 I play shortstop outfield catcher and pitcher
Same
bro growin up a sox fan playin ball in the backyard.... damn... i just hope my kids will get to experience that one day... when i have them lol.
that's a good dream to have
I don't know how this video ended up on my front page. I don't mean any disrespect by that. It's just that I can't remember the last time I watched anything about baseball. I'm here for it though, I loved your video and how honest you were about everything. You have a very natural and calming storytelling voice. I like that you were able to speak on your weaknesses, not give up, and get better making it on a college team. I played softball for 13 years and loved every minute of it. Now I'm a mom of 2 kids and try to instill the importance of sports and the many lessons and obediance you're able to gain. I hope you make more videos with tips on how you were able to improve in different areas or how to prepare for certain events like tryouts or tournaments. Wishing you the best of luck in all your baseball endeavors and most of all, have fun!!
Your comment does mean a lot, the RUclips algorithm can be crazy like that but thank you for clicking on it and sticking around. Sports are a life changing endeavor if you truly do love it, they contain so many lessons that you just can’t get the same way in other places
@rickygoupille8050 I agree and also subscribed to you. Can't wait to see what your future posts entail.
Loved the storytelling style in this video
Up on Blueberry Mountain getting excited about the 2024 game.
1 like one push
i have to quit next year because no one at my school plays baseball and everyone on the varsity team is graduating and there's no where else i can go
Right now I’m a freshmen in high school and let’s just say I’m not to hot. I would like to blame my hitting on the pitching speed of 45 mph on a good day but in the end it’s on me. You and your video have changed the way I think about this slump I’m in. Hopefully in the next couple month with hard work I’ll get that single up the middle. Thanks
thx
how did you practice batting? I want to make my highschool team and am really bad at batting but dont know how to hit farther
Baseball is a repetition sport. Get as many reps as you can to help build muscle memory then it’s more automatic in game
Ok so I’m helping to I hope it helps so basically keep you head down dont like don’t pick up your dominant leg but like twist it don’t bend down to much keep your legs closer than usual don’t try to hit pop flies hit in the middle and most importantly try your best❤
I PLAY CENTERFIELD, I AM IN MAJORS AND I DROPPED MY HANDS BUT I FIXED IT! WE ARE SO ALIKE!!!

When i get old, i will make sure i get a nice plot of lands as a backyard so my kids can have their sport in the backyard, whether it be a backstop and one of those travel mounds, or a goal or post. When i was younger thats what i wished for. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
If you build it, he will come
@@aljon5947I will also come lol that’s my dream to have a baseball field in my backyard
even if you don't have a big backyard you can do stuff. we play baseball in our driveway which is long. and he can also practice pitching (45 ft for little league) in the driveway. our backyard is tiny though... maybe 16 ft long and awkwardly shaped. he hits inside too (in the living room). using foam balls that won't damage anything.
Same omg this is what I want!

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it.
great video btw as someone who also struggled with dropping your shoulders/hands what should i do to improve do you have tips i started baseball this year having played only tball im a freshman and hope to be on jv as a sophomore
Usually it’s a product of being overly anxious and wanting to elevate the ball. Just sit back, and slow yourself down and focus on hitting liners. It’s something you have to consciously think about during BP and eventually reps will translate to in game.
@@rickygoupille8050 honestly i think that’ll help me a lot thank you
wow you make me excited for my at bat I'm stuck in a slump I cant hit the ball in game I get in my head yet at BP hit trax its to the fence I try not to obsess man is it hard
Just trust your ability and react to the ball.
Www
W video! And sick little league field!!
Appreciate you as always!
