Recorded at BBC Manchester in October 1998. This is the final show of the week which was aired on a Friday. Although the show was on Monday to Friday, all five shows were recorded on the same day in a very small studio (no audience) which meant the contestants having to bring five sets of clothing to the studio. Unfortunately, this is the only episode of the show that I have.

Bradley Walsh is hosting Blankety Blank to
I remember watching this show as a kid and that sound which came on every time a player lost all three lives was so hilarious.
Fred is a great man
I didn't realise that Wolf 359 was an actual star. I always thought it had been thought up for the Star Trek The Next Generation episode The Best of Both Worlds Part 2.
I don't ever remember Fred Dineage on BBC. Always associated with ITV

Lol, no wonder I've never heard of this show. 🤣 it's pretty dire. What fool thought the premise of the show would keep the nation captivated?

Aw this show is so cute! I can't believe I just found out about it. Gotta admit I have a thing for the style of the turn of 2000 too, reminds me of my teen years. It's fun to see these guys doing the clean cut soft sporty thing today.
Fred is talking a lot posher on here than he ever did on ITV news / CITV. Also you'd never get a 'TV Researcher' as a contestant on a gameshow nowadays.
Thanks so much for this upload Perry

one question how did they keep track of the answers to know whether a contestant was right or wrong in such quick time?
I would assume the judges have a list that was approved well ahead of time. And they've discussed some potential debatable answers and decided ahead of time.
I was on this, great day, had few drinks with Paul Ross in the bar after I won a gold TV,which had to be returned twice because they didn't work, my "celebrity" guest was Charlie Catchpole TV critic, hardly a celebrity !!!! Would have preferred someone legendary like Peter Purges or Bella Emburg Won on the question WO Fat was a baddie in which show? Answer...Hawaii 5O
Brilliant
I also was on this show mid 90s the celeb guest was Mick Robertson of Magpie I came 3rd and won a book all about TV Stars and a T shirt but it was fun I met Leslie Dennis and Dale Winton.
I was on this show also -- went through a period in the early 90s working with a group which helped play basic formats for quiz progs and then produce pilots to sell to the studios. As a result I often got a call asking if I would be a contestant on the first (and sometimes only) series. Appeared on "Takeover Bid" with Brucie, "Fifteen-to-1", "Chain Letters", "Turnabout", "Cryptogram", "The Weakest Link", "Every Second Counts", "Telly Stack" and others I cannot remember. On "Pass The Buck" I won on the first day and had to wait until all the games were played before 'returning' (hanging around on set) for the final game. Fun days.

Great video
i used to really like this..eamonn holmes presented it after fred I believe...I thought Fred was much better
Eamon Holmes took over as host from series 2 to 3.
Agreed, Fred was a better presenter
That zero answer bothers me. I think zero is a whole number. You can have zero of something and if you do math like one minus one equals zero.. well zero is the number. I think this is not fair or right as this is very subjective. I think it should be made clear at the start that zero can't be used. If that's the case make it very clear. If something is a possible answer in math that you can get, then it should be considered a whole number. Yes I'm American and I'm sure Brits don't agree with a lot of things American's believe in such things but I still say Zero is a number and the guy got cheated. I mean it sounds so ridiculous to tell the guy you are wrong because zero is not a whole number. Well it is a number. Next time tell them you won't accept that if that's the case.
As a Brit I feel he got cheated on the whole Zero front. They should have made it very clear Zero couldn't be used. Man was robbed
I just hope Merv Griffin (the creator of the show) never saw any episodes of this particular series. He probably would have hated it.
f
Almost the forerunner of The Weakest Link, but with a bit more agreeable host.
It is shocking that Bradley only did one series as host. If he had stay on doing it instead of John Lesile, the show would be still on the air today.
Cripes, good he's laid off the Ribena since then. Like a 10 year old after too many E numbers!
Crikey I did an episode of TellyStack also
+alkadypod me too.. and i WON!....a GOLDEN TELLY.....er.. a crappy old portable sprayed gold by the props dept hehehe. My Celeb was Bill Oddie who was really miserable.. but the poor bloke was suffering from depression at the time.
I was on this program reached the semi final - lovely chef chap from Anglesey reached the final. Lady from crossroads was the special guest and my sister was on it the day before with Jim Bowen. I still have it somewhere on VHS ! Whilst I was filming, next door was a Gladiators and Emmerdale special of Supermarket Sweep ! Great memories!
that was in Nottingham wasnt it? I did one, reached the last 2 but got knocked out on the big screens and won a book. :)
+KitCurranRadioShow i loved you
They should bring something similar to this back at 9.25 am each morning instead of The Jeremy Kyle Show although it is very amusing from time to time.
Bradley is much more settled as host of The Chase then he was as host of Wheel of Fortune as we can see in this video.
9:07 - 9:12 That's actually questionable; some consider zero a whole number while others don't. In the Aussie version, they used the former ruling. Personally, I too am of the former school (In which case zero is not a COUNTING number).
