What kind of camera did you use for this shot? Awesome view by the way.
beautiful very beautiful .
Seems like it was one good night there. I’ll be going up to my cabin on the 14th of this month. Hoping I can get some stars to see!
wow. outstanding.
I’ve gotten a good night or two before but never in the new moon phases. Last time I went the new moon phase was nearing its end
See eveytime I go up it’s never the right moon phase and it’s cloudy or raining lol.
I couldn't even see that many stars on mount kilimanjaro.
Gorgeous Milky Way from there !!! :O
Beautiful!
First off, I really want to thank you for all of your help at the last star party. We were able to capture some pretty nice shots. Do you mind if I ask what lens, body and ISO you used?
Anytime! This sequence was taken with a Canon 5DS R. a Laowa 12mm Zero-D lens, and a Timelapse+ View. The View did both bulb and iso ramping within a range of 1/8000-30s and 100-2500 ISO, respectively. That's what allowed me to capture the day-to-night-to-day transitions. The lens is a manual lens, so the aperture was stuck at f/2.8. Hope this helps!
Thanks a lot. I appreciate it.
What an amazing video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can't wait to go!
I really wanna go here! I live in Allentown, PA and I'm lucky if I can see anything in the night sky with all the light pollution.
Mike H. Pollution is not good
That is awesome great job!!!
Great job!!!! I was there and imaging was. It so good for 80% of that night and this captures why
I was there. It was the clearest night of my life.
Whoa... Sunrise looks really stunning, almost "northern lights" like... Excellent job :)
Amazing timelapse., especially starting it wile still light out. Transition to dark and the clouds floating by adds dimension to the sequence.
Nice Tracy!! That one night at CSSP made it worthwhile. Enjoyed watching my telescope spin around on the right. Larry
Wow! Another great Cherry Springs Star Party.
Did you just set up a camera and let it record or did you put it on a certain setting so it can pick up all the stars?
What camera & lens did you use?
+TheAndersDanilet This time-lapse was taken with a Canon 5D MII and a 16-35mm f/2.8. Each frame was a 30s exposure @ 1600 ISO.
hey if you don't mind me asking what you shot this with? I have been planning a trip to cherry springs and wanted to know what to compare to. This video is timelapse is amazing by the way.
+max23145 Thanks! I was real lucky to capture it. Canon 5DS R with EF16-35mm f/2.8L USM 16mm for 30s at f/2.8, ISO 2500
+Tracy so I assume it is rare to experience Aurora there? I plan to use a 24mm f/2.8 I hope that is wide enough capture the sky. This is my favorite timelapse of cherry springs by far. great work!
Yes, it's not a regular occurrence. If I remember correctly, it needs to be a 6.5+ rated storm to make it far enough south to be seen at CS. I have a few others that I haven't processed, yet. I also started sharing some others on www.tblainephotography.com.
+Tracy Oh I forgot to ask how often is the camera taking a photo. including the 30 second exposure
Continuous. 30s exp, 2s rest, 30s exp, 2s rest, etc...
Hi Tracy, we are interested in using this video on weather.com (The Weather Channel). Please email me at Nicole.Bonaccorso@weather.com if this might be possible! Thank you!
Fantastic! Was this the evening of September 8th (UTC September 8 & 9)?
was wondering if i could use your cherry springs footage for a vlog. would credit you of course
may i use your footage for a video, will credit you
would you mind if i could incorporate your video in a video of mine that i took of the field/ road trip. would credit ya
Can you see all of this with the naked eye or would I need a telescope?
Imtiaz Hossain This is typically the view with your naked eye on a clear night. The video is enhanced a little, where you can't see all of the contrast of the Milky Way that's in the video, but it's amazing. The key is clear skies...
Wow beautiful
going next week for two days..HOPE it is clear!
How was it?
dac sco It was great. I got some INSANE pics, was gonna try to attach one here but I guess you cant do that
Nice!!!!!
