I do want to say that, looking at this art, I want a Tetris-playing machine like that even if it looks extremely unpractical. Mickey and Pete are so good they don't even need to look at their board to play. Man, I want to play this game again. Such an underrated Monolith Soft game that never released outside of Japan. I hope Nintendo remakes it or makes a sequels someday.

As much as I like this tune, by the end of the game they've used it enough times that I start to wish they'd commissioned juuuuuuust one more song for the games various dungeons. Don't get me wrong, the soundtrack is wonderful, I just want MORE of it.

I never owned any Sega console, so my first exposure to this track was the version that was used in Circle of the Moon. As much as liked GBA version of the track, I've got to admit, I like this one better.

Pretty intense for a character theme. Pretty good, though

SupraDarky on June 30th 2020, 9:48 pm This game has been on sale a few times, going as low as 2 dollars. If you like RPGs, it's a no-brainer at that price. Certainly with its share of flaws, but it has some very nice highs including the music. This theme has a really pleasant mix of piano, bass and synths, a great soundscape. The story and characters are definitely the game's biggest weak points. I thought the combat system did a great job of straying away from having to just spam attacks to win, though it did make some normal battles feel longer than it should.

SupraDarky on June 24th 2020, 10:02 pm I have almost zero knowledge of the Visual Novel genre, but I found out about this game after hunting for more awesome Ryu Umemoto music, an FM-synth master. It turns out YU-NO on PC-98 is a pioneer in the genre and influenced most VNs (including Steins;Gate anf Fate/stay night) and even anime/manga in general, being responsible for a lot of tropes we now commonly see. Even if this is not my kind of genre, reading this game's Legacy section on its Wikipedia page was very interesting. They actually released a remake on Switch/PS4/Steam last year.

SupraDarky on June 8th 2020, 10:14 pm I just really enjoyed playing as Hector and his Devil Forgemaster skills while listening to kick-ass Yamane music. Funny how the Netflix show now completely eclipses the game it's based on in terms of popularity. Not that it's surprising, especially with the adaptation being so good. If you have Netflix and you still haven't given Castlevania a chance, go for it. I think its representation of a horror/medieval setting with vampires and beasts is some of the best realized I've seen. It's a demoralizing world that I would never want to live in. It's a smart show that refreshingly stays away from all the traps/clichés that other video game movies or series usually fall in. They could have easily made this a show full of empty action, but here we can have whole episodes without a single fight but great dialogues. They could have made Trevor the typical perfect hero who will save the world, but instead he is full of flaws. Isaac has great character development and Hector is obviously being mistreated as a backstory for his inevitable comeback. Alucard in S3 was the only part I disliked. We all have our opinions, but to me this is a refreshing, dark and smart show.

SupraDarky on April 20th 2020, 9:41 pm Now that we're almost certain Nintendo will announce quite a few Mario games this year, including a new Paper Mario, I'm excited to see this series hopefully return to greatness. Just stop trying to find new gameplay experiences and give us a classic RPG like this game or TTYD and we'll all be happy (I did love Super Paper Mario as well). This theme brings all the nostalgia of playing around the paper visuals for the first time and searching for secrets.

I loved this game right from the start, but it's when I reached the Temple Mine and I heard this theme that I knew this was a gem. It's a perfect mix of Zelda, MMO and action-RPG. Don't miss out on this.

SupraDarky on May 21st 2020, 10:54 pm A perfect summer tune to transport yourself on a sandy beach with a refreshing drink. I loved this kingdom with the freedom of running around the beach and diving in the vast underwater, just a feel-good level. A lot of people might also remember it for the volleyball mini-game, but I surprisingly didn't have too much trouble getting that moon (unlike the jump rope challenge in New Donk City).

SupraDarky on June 4th 2020, 9:55 pm This game was launched on Kickstarter a few weeks ago along with a demo and music samples. I really like this theme and its different sections, it's a single loop. What we have here is a Metroidvania with heavy emphasis on combat inspired by Devil May Cry. Having completed the demo, I can definitely see the potential with the different combos switching between normal, charge and magical attacks. The graphics and music seem to be in good hands, and as expected from an alpha build the gameplay will need some tweaks here and there.
