Just me and some videos. Nothing special ... yet.
K5 Blazer Carb Startup
First run after installing carburetor on the K5 Blazer. First time it is "running" in over two years of sitting in the driveway. I'll be excited to get it OUT of the driveway. We converted it from throttle body fuel injection to carb to make life easier. The TBI just wasn't cooperating. I was afraid it would stop running after my son got it in his driveway ... so here we are. I had an Edelbrock manifold sitting around, so just had to get a carb. I chose a QJet mainly because it was about the easiest/cheapest way to go. We'd all love to put a square bore Holley on our SBCs, but this will have to do for now. For $180, it runs pretty good. Still needs the timing tweaked, but it's running....

Continuing with the K5 Blazer, I install new poly bushings and get the headlights working.
Spaced Out K5

Wheels spacers added to the K5 Blazer in an attempt to allow for a bit more clearance between the wheels and the tie rod ends on the drag link. I think they'll work.
Nitrogen Shock Death Match!

If you ever wanted to see a guy struggle with nitrogen filled shocks, this is the video for you! Watch as I finally get the back two shocks installed on the K5 Blazer.

Shocking

Working on the K5 Blazer putting shocks (or at least trying to) onto the vehicle. Old rusty hard square bodies are too much fun, but it's a little closer to done!
Screw Extraction

Short video of removing a broken screw. There's many different ways you can remove a screw rather than drilling it out, which is the last effort in my book. Hope this helps someone.

Going over a new tool for the garage, the Lisle 33260 Flaring Tool.
K5 Blazer First Fire Up
Просмотров 452 года назад
We're making this thing work! A very short video to show you all the first time we've fired it up since my son bought it. It runs really well, even with open headers. Son ordered some long tube headers for it which should be in next week. Looking to get this thing on the road!

Little bit of an update to let you know where we're at in the build and what's going on ... taking a bit of a different direction.
LS Head Studs
Просмотров 412 года назад
If you're paying attention to the LS Swap series I've been working on, you probably know I had used some head studs which are ARP knockoffs. I wasn't happy how they went together, so I took them out and replaced them with OEM head bolts. This video is the discovery portion of the studs to give you an idea about what was going on with them.

Button up the bottom end and start working on the top end. Getting closer! Here's the link to the video on the Torque Test Channel which delves into the different head studs and what they'll do. ruclips.net/video/VlfVt1wqr40/видео.html

Won't work on soft steel lines.
Then the tool is completely useless then, i couldnt get it to work on a stock camaro 3/16 steel line.. what vehicle has copper lines on it? How many cars out there actually have copper brake lines? If you went looking for a vehicle that has copper brake lines on it you likely wouldn't find one, why would a person buy all new brake lines and still need this tool? I don't understand why would they make a tool that only works on copper?
@@Alex-pj8eu - Actually it does work on soft steel lines. It doesn't work on stainless steel lines ... at least that is what Lisle puts out on their website.
My day just got better. Thanks!
:o)
I just had to do a screw extraction at my new job. First week had to find the tools. No left handed drill, just sent it with a 16th drill and screw extractor. Cleaned the threads with a 1/4 - 20 and sent it on its way. pretty sure I lost some thread engagement but all it did was hold a cover plate. Anyways good video.
I've got a Titan version and it looks like the Lisle one is a little bit nicer. I like that style, for hard to reach brake lines double flare.
I believe I have the same tool. I had to replace the fitting on the C6 connecting to the LR caliper. Some of the bigger tools just wouldn't work in the available space. This one worked great.
Those washer looked like they were hole saw drops. Obviously its worn tooling on what ever they use to stamp them out. China should pay a fine for the shit QA they do. Pretty much stealing usd by selling us shit. grrrr
Oh my god you forgot to drain it? What a mess ahaha
That looks only slightly less painful than working on my G35.
