    But the stimulus relations language of reflexivity, symmetry, transvity and ...? How can one be able to break down those sentences is my concern.

    • @thebeautifulmindacademy
      @thebeautifulmindacademy 5 месяцев назад

      In scenario-based questions, I use letters to label the scenarios. When the letters match (with your confirmation), such as A and A, it indicates reflexivity. If your scenario involves an A B and then B A relation, it suggests symmetry. To enhance clarity, I prefer to include visual cues like letters alongside the written explanation, as it can aid understanding, particularly for those who may find the paragraph alone confusing. It also helps eliminate any added information that is irrelevant. Try it and let me know :-)

    7 is maintenance : consistency means maintaining. 8 is discrimnation : can't differentiate sharing behaviour at school from recess. 9 maintenance : she can't maintain the chores appropriately any more. 10 generalization : taking place in different setting.

    Yes, some of them are examples of behaviors and some are not. Behaviors: 1. Non-compliance: This is a behavior as it involves not following rules or instructions. We can see an individual to choose not to follow the instructions or we can see them doing or not doing something. 2. Writing: This is a behavior as it involves the action of physically writing something down. 3. Reading: This is a behavior as it involves actively looking at and interpreting written text. 4. Daydreaming: This is a behavior as it involves a mental activity "private event" of imagining scenarios or events. 5. Not sitting: This is a behavior as it involves a physical action of not being seated. 6. Having a friend watch your screen: This is a behavior as it involves the action of someone observing your screen. 8. Hitting a peer: This is a behavior as it involves a physical action of hitting another person. 9. Whispering to yourself: This is a behavior as it involves speaking quietly to oneself. 10. Your body shaking from being scared: This is a behavior as it involves a physical reaction to fear. Not behaviors: 1. A ball in the air: This is not a behavior, as it describes the state of an object (the ball) rather than an action performed by someone.

    • @thebeautifulmindacademy
      @thebeautifulmindacademy 6 месяцев назад

      Non-compliance is not considered a behavior - a dead man can do it. Remember to ask yourself: can a dead man do it? If yes, chances are quite high that it is not behaviour. In behavioral analysis, we do not categorize actions with negations such as "NOT sitting" or "NOT eating" as behaviors.

    Hi! Thank you for the video!! I have a question about the anxiety from thunder. I thought anxiety was not a behavior......;).

    • @thebeautifulmindacademy
      @thebeautifulmindacademy 7 месяцев назад

      Hey! My apologies for the late reply. Respondent behaviors are involuntary reactions to stimuli, and anxiety in response to specific sounds, like thunder, falls into this category. Is it operant behaviour? No. It is also not a strong example of behaviour because it cannot be measured or observed. :)

    Resurgence Extinction burst

    • @thebeautifulmindacademy
      @thebeautifulmindacademy 7 месяцев назад

      Resurgence is correct. However, for the last question I want you to think about: is it an initial increase? The scenario tells us that, "after a few weeks of no reinforcement the behaviour comes back". What do we call a behaviour that comes back after time passes?

      @@thebeautifulmindacademy resistance to extinction?

    • @thebeautifulmindacademy
      @thebeautifulmindacademy 7 месяцев назад

      @@dinaabdel-massih27 Resistance to extinction refers to the behaviour continuing to happen even when we put it on extinction. In that example, the answer is spontaneous recovery. The behaviour stopped and the same behaviour came back later on.
