    I'm searching for how to edit a part of a laser cut file that comes in sitting within a part of the design that shouldn't be cut. How do I move it to the side? I'm pulling my hair out trying to find the answer!

  • @gizmobowen
    @gizmobowen 4 дня назад

    I was wondering about how the enhanced cutting worked. I saw that it would change to two passes, but then I would just put it back to one. I was hoping that it would help, but what you're saying makes me think it doesn't. I did install a program called SVG Explorer so I can look at thumbnails of the SVG files in my file explorer windows. It makes it easier to identify what the files are without opening them. I'll have to look through your other videos to see what kind of auxiliary exhaust fan system you've added. That seems like a good idea and having a remote to turn it on and off seems helpful as well.

    I love watching your videos and am grateful for the wonderful resource. We have the WeCreat Vista 10w and are having a very difficult time getting projects to cut. As an example 5mm plywood was set at 97 power and a speed of 3 and 2 passes. I had to reprocess it 3 times and it still had places that did not completely cut out so really rough edge and a lot of soot. We have the same problem with 3mm basswood. We only tried the 5mm because the 3mm is really thin for some of the projects we would like to do. Could it be a problem with is laser or it it just a steep learning curve.

    • @WeCreat_Lonnie
      @WeCreat_Lonnie 4 дня назад

      My 10W is on the way. Ill have more insight when it gets here. But on my 20 I cut 3mm at 100 power 5 speed 1 pass so yours would have ti do 2-3 passes.

    • @IreneCotta
      @IreneCotta 4 дня назад

      Thank you! We love the engraving 10w does but the cutting has been very disappointing. High power and low speed and multiple passes produces lots of char and the cut is not smooth. Not sure we have tried the settings you suggest but will try them and hopefully get a better cut. I’m glad you will have the 10w to work with. There are very few videos for the Vista and really look forward to yours as you do a wonderful job at explaining and showing everything. Thank you again.

    • @WeCreat_Lonnie
      @WeCreat_Lonnie 5 дней назад

      in windows it does it automatically from your windows directory (windows 10-11) not sure where they are located in other versions but in 10-11 they are in c: windows/fonts. If you have them stored elsewhere you'll have to put them there. Be patient the first time you click it too it takes a minute if you have a ton of fonts.

    • @peecee171
      @peecee171 5 дней назад

    Thanks for the hint on the Processing Order menu. I agree that Auto Arrange is probably the safest bet, but I'm glad we have the layer option so I can tell it what to do first. I did a box the other day and it cut out the box pieces and then tried cutting out the pattern in the sides. It worked, but I would have rather it cut out the patterns first and then make the cuts around the edges of the box. With layer arrange I can put them in the order I want and then it'll do what I want. Thanks.

  • @gizmobowen
    @gizmobowen 16 дней назад

    Sorry for commenting so much, but I think your videos are helpful, but then I come up with suggestions or questions and I can't help myself. For the subtraction tool, I am confused how it works. For example, when you put the circle on the rectangle, it subtracted the circle, but it could have subtracted the rectangle and I didn't know how it knows. I thought that it was a layers thing, so I went into the software and tried rearranging the layers. Unfortunately that didn't seem to change things. Then I was looking for an arrange feature to move them forward or backwards. From what I can tell, new shapes are placed above the previous shape. This then creates a scenario where the software subtracts the top shape from the bottom shape. What's even weirder is that I had three shapes, selected all of them and the top two disappeared from the lowest shape. Without the ability to control the arrangement, you're stuck with the order that you put them on the workspace. If the software people can add the arrange feature, or make it tied into the layer definitions, that would be helpful.

    I thought I understood how the dpi would affect the results by making edges sharper but I didn't expect it to make the engraving darker. It seems to affect the power of the laser, or maybe it is just doing more pulses in the same area which makes it darker. If I could make a request, I'd like to see an image with a lot of tonal variations printed with the different algorithms. I don't often get a lot of shading in my photo prints and I don't think the system has the ability to moderate the power, so it seems like pixel size and density are the only two variables we have. From what I understand, the algorithms are where we can modify those parameters. Thanks for keeping the videos coming.
