How to make sure your pool capacitor is good with a multimeter
You need to know the microfarads for the pool capacitor. Make sure you properly discharge your capacitor and always make sure no power is coming to it prior to removing and reinstalling. The reading you get using the multimeter should be within the range listed on the capacitor. If it is too low or high it is likely defective and should be replaced. This is an inexpensive and simple fix.

How to test a heating element
Просмотров 642 года назад
If your heating element may be bad you can remove it and test it with a multimeter. If the reading is higher than it should be, it is probably bad. The formula is (voltage x voltage/wattage). So for mine it is 240 v and 2500 watts. 240 x 240 = 57,600/2500=23 ohms. I am getting a reading way above that so these are bad. Bummer!! New heating elements for $30 total for all 4 solved the problem!

So all of a sudden your steam sauna stops working and trips the circuit breaker. More than likely it’s an issue with the heating element(s). I was quite fortunate and found mine at Grainger for a total of $30 for all 4! I just installed them and put back together and ...

This video did help. In fact, when I tripped the breaker and ran upstairs to hold the light button in, it worked! However, the switch would not control anything after this. I couldn't turn it off, turn the lights on or change the color of the LED. I had to power the whole thing off, to get it turn off and then it would not turn back on without tripping the breaker, again. At this point, I'm thinking I probably do need to replace the whole unit.

Using the voltmeter ; disconnecting all the wires to find where the power comes into the circuit; the black and brass screws……I had two 3 way and two 4 ways switches controlling a couple hallway lights and it’s never worked properly …..for years….even had an electrician spend several hours and he didn’t get it. This video troubleshooted it amazingly well….best 7 minutes I spent on RUclips.!!!!!hands down…..

Very Helpful video. Figuring out which switch pulls the initial power from the box is key. Here’s a tip- black screws don’t always mean black wire. The 4-way switch has an “IN” side and an “OUT” side on the diagram you’ll see that. Pay attention where it tells you to put the hot wire from the first switch on the “IN” side and put the red wire in the available slot on the same side. Mirror on the “OUT” side. On the third switch, the hot black wire goes on the side with only one screw.
