Good job Sensei! Have you ever done a partner practice with this kata?
Yes, I tried making a partner practice form for this kata a few years ago. This form turns to the front and rear several times, so uchi jo (the partne) needs to move back and forth to fulfill his/her role during the form. It ends up looking too “constructed” in my opinion. You could use two uchi jo - one in front and on to the rear. But this becomes a bit complicated.

It’s called a “jo” - a traditional Japanese staff/stick. It’s one of the two traditional weapons used in Aikido.
[new edit: I asked Inagaki Sensei about the blade up tsuki. He said the first tsuki was with the blade up Inagaki Sensei was uchi tachi in this kumi tachi in the book Tradition Aikido. In the old film version it is another person as uchi tachi. Here it looks like both tsuki are done with the blade up.]

Dude, the techniques are effective... it's just that they don't only practice the art for combat, but for discipline... basically, they are doing combat training for fighting and military discipline good for soldiers at the same time
