very glad you got this for free from angels horn which I think is a good turntable but not an up grade the angels horn is a manual with the same cart that you have on the other TTif you want blue tooth there devices inexspensive where you can add to it ,tone arm you got to balance it zero it out before playing records you could add too much tracking force and ruin record JRo

Three weeks ago I decided to sell my Technics 1210SL and buy this turntable. As well I am also impressed by the Sound. For me as a big Fan of Classic Musik I have to give you the advice to try that Out. The Angel Horn is awesome for all Kind of Classic Musik. BLOWS me away when I Here Organ Musik by Bach or Choir Music. It is full and clear. I am Not an audiophile nerd, or have a super Monitor Setup, but for my living room it is perfect❤👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I found these TT's to be pretty good looking and fine quality and am impressed with the anti skating it has and I agree with your antiskating method I also set all of my turntables with a blank disc to me it is more accurate usually I set the dial for antiskate according to the tracking force and when ever I play an album whenever it lands on the start of recordit always seem to jump on to song but when I use the blank record they all donot!!!!!! I repeat Do Not jump into song they go down onto the start of groove and never jump thati is on all of my 7 turntables I used this method for my 610 BSR when ever i set it to the right numbers it always jumps and when I use the blank record test it does not stay still it goes ti end of record I used this to get my BSR 610 perfect it ended up being set to near zero when i place stylus onto blank record it stays where it is placed what more proof do u need excellent review its nice to know some one out there thinks out side the box on the anti skating issue thanks JRo

Without a separate amplifier (and a pre-amp/phono stage for the turntable), it's not a hi-fi, but a stereo set.

I just watched one of your turntables with the speakers, the speakers need to be lifted off the desk otherwise you get 100 hertz dip and the vibrations get back onto the turntable. what you could do is have some open cell foam as the packaging and that foam can be used in two parts underneath the speakers, so they are lifted off the desk by 5 inches, and the foam two part piece can be rotated so you can tilt the speaker back 5°

Never have the speakers on the desk like that you get a dip at 100 hertz also the vibration getting back into the turntable what they should have done is put the packaging so you could use the foam for the speakers and have them tilted up

I’m a newbie and looking at purchasing this turntable but a lot of reviewers are saying the anti skate weight thingie (ya, that’s my beginner level showing) was tricky and would be difficult for a beginner to set up properly. I know nothing about turntables, so how tricky is tricky? The weight setup is making me question this unit. Do you have a video tutorial to walk you through the set up? No reviewer has shown the set up process but they’re saying it is difficult.

Very good sounding unit! I have and still use my Direct Drive Realistic LAB-430 which is hooked to my Optimus STAV3770. I may consider buying one in the future.

I still own and use my Direct Drive Realistic LAB-430 and I enjoy it very much. I have never considered buying a unit like this one before. Probably as I get into retirement (I am 62) and need to get rid of many of my electronics since my Japanese wife wants us to move to Japan?

My first deck was an Amstrad TP-12D (look it up): weird and terrible.

My gran had a vintage pink turntable with a built in speaker similar to the one reviewed sans weight. We played The Beatles, Perez Prado, etc in it. Fun and scratchy times. I’ll pass on Angels Pubes, love my CDs.

A fair review, but for less than $200 it's not a bad little TT for someone looking to get into playing records. I was very impressed with the packaging as you were. You can get better vintage TT's for the price as you know, but it can be a hit & miss as to what you get on Ebay or whatever. Not trying to tell you how to run your channel, but I have a similar low sub YT channel but don't monetise it so can play what music I want, might be an idea to get a tripod & lighting too, just a thought,.Been watching your channel for years, you do some excellent informative video's, Whatever you do or don't, thanks, I've learned a lot off you over the years. My best advice would be to buy a Marantz SACD-12SE This is the production version of the £3500 Ruby Ki. The 12SE was £3000 when it came out 2 years ago - but you now find some at only £1700. An absolute snip for one of the best CD players ever manufactured. Okay, strictly speaking this isn't one of those archaic turntable thingies, but on the other hand it's the perfect "deck" for people who really love music. Don't forget folks, it's not about the format, it's about the music. Unless you're HMV, who really REALLY want you to buy badly mastered vinyl reissues at £35 a shot. As a special offer they're quite happy to throw in noisy pressings, scratches, warping, off centre, split sleeves etc etc. PS: my old Technics 1210 is still going strong, 30 years after I bought it.

I gifted my friend one of these turntables - I don't know if the unit I bought was defective or not but I really struggled with the sound from the bluetooth output - it sounded muffled at the top end. Very hard to isolate and eliminate the individual components because the internal phono preamp switch only worked for the RCA phono outputs, it had no effect on the internal bluetooth transmitter. Eventually I found a workaround - wiring the turntable to an inexpensive outboard phono preamp and bluetooth transmitter, more wires but infinitely more versatile because the transmitter has a display readout, I can instantly see exactly what the turntable is connected to, and I can switch from the Roxel powered bluetooth speakers in the living room to the bluetooth receiver/FM transmitter tuned to the old Sony cd/cassette/tuner in the kitchen. Whatever it ends up connected to, the sound always remains crystal clear.

Same turntable I own, love it a lot. I think it could use a better motor but it is a great introductory turntable for new vinyl listeners/collectors

When I use mine, the arm begins vibrating like crazy, and skips even once calibrated correctly, the plastic beneath the disc also is very wobbly, is there anything I can do to fix this?

They deserve a completely terrible speaker setup, with speakers pushed against the back wall, robbing them of the space they require to produce any semblance of soundstage and creating boomy bass whilst being set back on a bench top leading to first reflection point being the bench top and a diffuse and poorly controlled stereo image? I don’t understand what music lovers did do deserve that.

Good review...those speakers seem pretty good, haven't heard them ( but the driver selection was good and sensible with a decent cabinet) , Everyone that has reviewed them has said the same.The table does what it's supposed to do...kinda like my Philips 212 ( without the finicky auto stop mechanism) and a DC motor so the belt doesn't need to be moved either. Nice tone arm that won't fall apart. Hopefully the small amplifier has enough interal protection to not not self destruct and it will get a teen through college for instance. Add a inexpensive sub with a high level input for another $100 and it'll be fine for a smaller room, Don't expect more than 500 hours and that will be stretching it too long with a conical stylus with it's smaller contact surface (300 -400 hours would be much better, an album a day on average, about once a year). Also 1.75 grams is too low also for this cartridge. Mistracking do to to little vertical tracking force is not good either. Yes it's recommended range is 2.5 - 3.5 grams. Given the medium mass of the tone arm 3.0 grams tracking force will be a sweet spot. At this force don't use a worn stylus keeping it fresh is necessary especially a conical and this one is inexpensive one album with cost more . Don't forget to get a good record cleaning brush either and make sure you use it.( every time is a best habit). A stylus brush is also needed afer a few albums are played too.

This is an awesome turntable and the setup was pretty dang easy, especially with the video. Sounds fantastic and I'm over the moon, you guys rock!

Book shelf speakers, Bluetooth, internal pre amp , are not audiophile features. Too many really cheap poorly constructed chinese manufactured turntables have come on to the market in the last few years, pretending to be something decent, when in the real world they aren't.

I have an earlier model. Quite reliable. Easy & fun to use. Well built also. I think it's the HOO2 or something
