Digging up old Antiques
In this video I returned to the antique bottle dump, I scratched around for a little while until I found a really interesting Emerald Green bottle, this at first looked like a similar type of poison but is likely an Aftershave bottle, it’s 1930s. The next cool thing I found was a square ink well which had a strong purple colour. I thought it was the purple hue created by a type of glass component used pre 1915 (Manganese Sulphate) but it turned out to be purple ink inside the ink well that was staining the sides this one is 1930s as well. After a few more unique finds I came across what appeared to be a Bakelite fountain pen, since I had found one here before it was the likely chance. It ...

I also found some interesting relics such as a fancy belt buckle with the initials HM the man of the house during the twenties was named Henry Martin. So it would have belonged to him. I also found a WWI era General Servi...

Exploring the Historic Cole Island
Просмотров 7302 месяца назад
In this video I take a kayak trip to a small island just off the shore. Historically, Cole Island was strategically important to the Royal Navy as an ammunition depot. In 1859 the first two powder magazines were constructed, and five of the 16 original structures remain today. Cole Island was named by Lieutenant Commander Wood of the HMS Pandora after Commander Edmund Picoti Cole, master of the...
A couple neat pieces of Uranium Glass Found in the riverbank.
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.2 месяца назад
In this video I was out BeachCombing on the river, when I spotted a couple neat pieces of Uranium glass. For those who don’t know Back in the day people would occasionally add Uranium into the glass mix, they did this for the nice green hue. For anyone wondering, yes this is radioactive, barely, just enough to give off the nice glow under UV light. If you enjoy videos like this, make sure to su...

That purple ink is amazing never seen one like that before! Did ya keep the cork in?
I did yes, I like to keep my finds close to the state they came in. It adds character.
Air freshener bottle is the green one
Im a day late but I'm just tuning in now!
The purple ink made it look cool though! Green gorgeous poison nice score ! 👍😎🐆🐆
I agree, if only it was manganese! Unfortunately, the green one actually wasn’t a poison, it was an “Air Wick” Thanks for watching!
That thermometer is neat! The Owl Drug Co branding is unique too
Indeed it is! I’ve been finding a ton of broken owl drug co bottles, all from the age of applied labels, so nothing embossed. But still neat pieces to find.
good age range of finds... the internal threaded jar and glass lid is quite unique
Yes, this site ranges from the 1920s to the late 50s. It’s on a hill so the ages get quite jumbled. I once found a 6 sided Green poison (1920s) right near a 1956 pristine Pepsi.
Your green poison is an Air Wick bottle... 1940s-1960s
You are correct, my excitement got the better of me and I assumed it was a poison.
Nice finds!
Thanks for the visit! I was pretty content with these finds.
That ink is spectacular Jack ! Great unique find with the thermometer. Never seen the Anacin bottle before either. I have found that green bottle before, but forget what it is. Fantastic finds my friend. All the best and happy hunting Jack !
Thanks Allan, I made a few mistakes in this video, the ink sadly wasn’t manganese, it was just purple ink, still a neat find but not what I thought it was. I found a broken Anacin once but never intact. I’ve never found a thermometer inside a case like this before.
Some great finds Jack. 😊
@@DebbieMacMillan-f5r Thank you
I dug that same 53 license plate over here on the east coast last year. They're worth a few bucks
@@Travelling..Bottle..Digger that’s good new to hear! lol Thanks for watching my video, Happy Hunting!
That was a nice cache of relics Jack ! Congratulations on the local soda bottle and license plate too. I see you have also found an embossed Milk of Magnesia. It took me four years to find one. LOL ! Usually when I find a solid mass of coins ,jewelry, etc.,I just soak the whole mass at home to separate the pieces. You never know if there's a great item hiding in the bunch. That medicine you found is a different one as well. Fantastic finds Jack and always enjoy sharing in your adventures. Best regards my friend !
@@BIGALL7777 I hear you about those milk of magnesia’s Allan. I see Frank and Tyler finding one every other day! I certainly don’t see them often. I not sure if I added this to the video description, but I ended up taking the button mass piece home and taking it apart carefully, I believe it was someone’s sewing kit. It was mostly plastic buttons, with 1 thin metal buckle and some sewing string.
some sweet finds. I like the pop bottle!
@@northernfound Thanks! It’s pretty simple I design but a decently rare bottle itself.
Love finding local bottles connected to your community or town ! Great array of bottles Jack ! 👍🐆😎
@@monkcheetah8203 yes indeed! I do not often find local bottles so this was a happy surprise.
Great find and wish the bakealite cap was intact for you Jack ! Happy hunting my friend !
Why are they always broken lol?
Awesome I found the Lysol bottle, but never the cap like that! 👍🐆🐆😎
@@monkcheetah8203 very true, I don’t always find the caps to the bottles, they usually dissolve.
Nice one!
@@DIUBrandon Thanks!
That's one BIG Pond's Jar !
@@Travelling..Bottle..Digger indeed it is! Interestingly enough, that’s the only size that I find at this site. I guess someone really liked their Ponds lol
IDK but it’s very interesting for sure ! 👍🐆😎
@@monkcheetah8203 Thanks!
Would have been a beautiful piece of stoneware Jack ! Not sure what that other relic you found is. Best wishes and regards my friend !
@@BIGALL7777 I agree Allan, if only it was intact. It would have been a keeper! Thanks for the support my friend.
Is that the same wire from when I was there? Persistent! Also, what was that bottle behind it? Looked slick but interesting
It is the same wire, I’ve exposed another foot or two of it. It still won’t budge. That bottle behind if I can remember is actually a Wrights Silver Cream Jar. 👍
@ next time I’m there we’ll both give it a big old tug 🤣
@@MapleRidgeRelics sounds like a plan! I’m sure we will get it.
Its beautiful ❤️ thank you
Pocket watch chain, and you need to work on your video aiming.
Good stuff. I just dug a compass myself in my previous video. It was a first for me
@@Travelling..Bottle..Digger that sounds pretty cool! Unfortunately mine here was only plastic, not a high quality piece. Have a great weekend!
The chain seems to be a watch chain!
@@puffpuff706 I think you’re right about that. That seems to be the consensus :)
Enjoyed watching. Noxema bottle is cool. Listerine bottle is awesome. The poison bottle way cool.I'm so hooked on going on digs. I recently brought a Listerine bottle find to my local pharmacy and as a joke i asked if i could get a refill. The Lady enjoyed seeing the bottle. She showed me a shelf they had with some old bottles so i let them have it for there collection as they didn't have that one. Anyway, hope to see more of your digs. Also i have been keeping all the broken glass for art projects.
@@donnya205 that’s awesome! I didn’t know that some local pharmacy’s had some collections. I appreciate the support. Have a great weekend!
Wow Jack ! Those cone top cans are rare and amazing. Nice large jug too. The old tube of Vaseline is really cool. You did a fantastic job of narrating and filming Jack. Really enjoyed hearing about the local history. Best wishes and regards my friend !
The history side of things is always interesting to me, I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I was very surprised with that vaseline tube. ATB Allan.
Wow three finds in one is a first Jack ! LOL ! Love the dog figurines also. Awesome chain with the coin. Great find ! Cool compass with the lenses. Alright another military button Jack ! Congratulations ! Great dig and good job showing your finds. Take care and best regards my friend !
Thanks Allan! The dogs were neat, I don’t find figurines all that often. The chain with coin was my favourite find of the day. Have a great day Allan.
It’s always a successful dig when you find a poison.
@@northernfound Thanks! I can now say that that is indeed true.
Fantastic dig Jack ! Finding that horseshoe surely brought you great luck. Congratulations on the poison bottle. Looks like that vial has the original contents in it too. I was hoping that beautiful dish was intact also. Your doing well with the finds Jack. Best wishes and regards my friend !
@@BIGALL7777 Thanks a lot Allan, I really wasn’t expecting that poison but I’m glad it happened. Great to hear from you as always Allan. Take care.
Awesome video and nice finds! love the coin necklace and metal dogs the best. Nice to see the cobalt glass jars and that old white bowl is a very nice find. I wish you good health and luck. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Take care and happy hunting to you. ----Jeffrey Hull Jr. (Jeff & son Lew.)
I appreciate the support. I hope that you enjoyed this video, and I hope to see you at future videos. All the best. -Jack.
Dude I’m jealous!! I’ve always wanted a skull and crossbones poison!! Sick find!
@@WayaWolf Thanks man! It’s certainly a first for me.
Great stuff, insane day you had ! With the other WW1 button, I am thinking; could this have been a souvenir from somebody who came back from Europe, fighting in the war?
Since this day, I did a ton of research about the property attached to this site, managed to identify a man, who lived briefly in the house who served in WWI, I believe it to be his. By the way, I sent you a recent email, did you receive it?
@WestCoastArchaeologist yes sorry I started a new job, very busy, will get back to you tonight,
Now you have two small dogs like me ! Love those. Your necklace might be a chain for a pocket watch ? I think you’re right about the lemon or orange squeezer. The button is cool. I only found one military button so far myself. Great video enjoyed watching.👍😎🐆
Pocket watch chain could be it, since it’s chain, which really something someone would enjoy wearing. I definitely agree with you, military item are the coolest!
First 👍
Indeed you are!
Nice ! Man, there's cone tops in there too !
There was, yes! I really believe this spot could have lots more potential to it.
Awesome poison bottle congratulations my Friend! 👍🐆🐆
Thanks, I was thrilled when I saw it!
Congratulations on the poison dude 🙂 have only dug up one in five years
Thanks Janson, that certainly don’t come around often :)
Interesting dig!
I would think so too! lol
Congrats on the bucket lister, bud. I'm sure you'll find more of those yet
I Appreciate that, I certainly plan on finding another.
Those bottles are not Old! 😂
Actually most of them date back to around the 1940s as I mentioned with the timeline of this mill.
That Lucky Strike can is RARE RARE!! Good find!
So I’ve heard… glad to hear it! I hope that you enjoyed the video.
Nice exploration!
Thanks! I hope you enjoyed watching. :)
Awesome spot to explore love the history you told about it very cool indeed! Great video 👍😎🐆🐆
I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend. I always like hearing history/ story about these places.
First :)
cool explore buddy, had the slanted "s" house at the end!! Found some 70 year old Vaseline in a dump a few weeks back, was like brand new! then was attacked by wasps couldn't get to film it :( lol
Thanks Janson. I’m sorry to hear about your wasp incident. A similar thing happened to me this summer. Always unfortunate when wasps are involved.
Niceeee
