Thank you for your comment and sharing your feel with me! I guess we all get there eventually, the dark places, but man it was hard to get out from there on my own. It took me a few months to to pick myself up too, and I kinda found some answers. Drawings and painting are my comfort zone, relax zone, quite time to calm my feelings. And I absolutely agree with you, there's always good times and bad times. And it's important to keep making, it's okay if we accidentally make mistakes or fail, we will learn from mistakes and get stronger to take a blow :D

I'm glad you liked my people drawings! I currently don't have how I draw human face video, but I'm trying to record some process. I'm facing the problem that my heads or drawing hands tend to cover up the part I'm drawing, so about 70% of footage are my hands and heads. it might take a while to figure it out the setting, but I hope you stick with me :)

The cream, off-white colour is a plus for some folks.

I didn't like the creamy yellow toned paper first when I was using sakura sketchbook! But since this was second sketchbook with off white paper I didn't care so much about it anymore :D It affects the look of the drawings/art in the sketchbook, so totally I get it.

They now have another sketchbook with a "cork"-cover. It's supposed to have white paper but I haven't received mine yet. Cheers.

If I am to use only pencils, color pencils I'd prefer canson one, but if I want to use watercolor or mix media, inks and pencils, I'd prefer Sakura sketchbook! I wasn't really fun of canson one, when I wanted to use wet medium. But it's really nice drawing paper!

hmm I don't recommend, but you can try. The paint might go through other side because it's really thin. I've tried acrylic paint with thicker paper than this one (it was 140 gsm/ 95 lb) and it almost went through. You can gesso too but I'm guessing the paper definitely would buckle. Or it might work depending how much water you use.

Thank you! I agree. It is cheap, it does its job, it's okay. I guess it depends on what medium you like to use. The color of the paper gets in the way if you want to use some color.

Hello, thanks for your comment! I haven't used Canson 180 yet, so I'm not sure really. But the by the looks of it 180 paper is 96gsm or 65 LB, and the Canson one paper is 100 gsm or 67 lb. Canson one paper is very slightly thicker than 180. The biggest difference is Canson one doesn't open flat like 180 does. So I'm just guessing we wouldn't feel so much difference in paper, but how sketchbook opens.

Hi! Hope I'm still in time to help, I had to research a lot before finding this stuff out lol. I'm currently using a canson universal, which is the same paper than the 180. Despite being *slightly* lighter paper, I think the universal/180 has sort of a finish, because liquid media (I've mostly tried ink and some watercolour) works great with it. In fact I've even tried oil pastels and the results were decent. It's quite smooth finished so maybe very powdery stuff like charcoal would not get much range of colour, but it's still a very good jack of all trades, and excels with inks. Keep in mind the universal is cheaper with more pages than the 180, and using clips it does lay flat, so it comes down to preference if the price difference is worth it to you. I carry mine with clips attached anyway to flat out the pages that buckle from inks, so using them to open it flat doesn't make a difference for me.

But you can sealed it with ModPodge matte or any gesso in order to use watercolor medium or makers! 😊

Hello! Thank you for your comment and sorry for late reply. It was really smooth, no texture at all. It was close to watercolor hot press paper. Any kind of pencil or pen won't have problem, I assume! For me this sketchbook was best for pencil works :)
