Could be a number of issues and not just the mount. Check for springs crashing and making contact.

I am pretty sure that the noise is from the mount b/c once I loosen the top mount bolt and retighten, the noise is becoming less noticeable …. But still there

Anything larger than a is38 is going to be a custom tune.

The rods are shorter for lowering, so you can't ride stock height. If you push them up to high they'll get pretty twitchy, and bouncy. I think 15 inch fender lip to center of the wheel hub, is stock. These will sit 13.6- 14inches.

Adjustment perches wil not work with lowering/stock style springs. Due to the spring having a OEM small end.

Turbo was developed with the same curve as the is38, but out performs. Also running 9-10 psi over OTS is38 tunes. If you like the quick spool the is20 is low torque canyon driving.

@@SOLOWERKSUSA They have good numbers but what worries me is that there is almost zero feedback about this turbo online and if there is it’s negative. Are you running this turbo currently ?

@@d4rkn065 Over 50k miles now, and still running. Zero issues. Most of the turbo stuff comes down to the install. A lot of people install dry and burn a turbo up, before it even had a chance. I think Tony took this off the market and replaced with a bigger G-770 series ball bearing. I'm currently, building the motor to push it harder. I do however have one under my desk new in box.

@@SOLOWERKSUSA I’m considering this turbo because I found it on sale for 1087$ instead of 1690$ (VTT GC 1) which is a huge discount. But since you told me that he removed them from the shelfs I don’t think the 1 year warranty would still be valid now and especially because I’m shipping it outside the US.

@@d4rkn065 I'm not sure on the warranty, but Tony at VTT always will uphold a warranty. I wouldn't be scared, but sounds like you would have that issue no matter what turbo you go with. Just shipping outside the US is always a pain coming back for warranty.

That's just the US rear tails modded, and added the LED build.

This is a 100% bolt on parts, no engine mods at all. LPFP, MPI, IC, DP, ethanol sensor. Internals are completely stock.

2017, and those lights are no longer available. Maybe try BMPtuning. I think they took over the original company.

@@Fazzi93 100% stock motor. Currently just built the motor, and just dropped it back in the car yesterday. So need to button it up and will be making a full new video on a much better voyage.

The setup is running MPI so there is no need to change the HPFP. The IS38 I had for 25-30k miles. This setup I'm over 40k miles on the bigger turbo, with DQ250. Which I blew my clutch packs out at 80k miles, upgraded to a TDI setup.

@@Fazzi93 Yea I've planned it, but had issues on the last video shoot at the track. Where I blew my clutch packs out. was shooting for a 10.9et on the 1/4. So just need to dial the car back in after a few things. blown axle, etc. They'll be more to come.

Depending on how many miles you have on your car, you might want some new mounts. But the IS38 is fine with stock mounts, just put a dog bone insert in. I didn't get upgraded BFI mounts until I went big turbo and made 150+whp over this setup.

I live in a small town and will need to drive almost 3 hours to the APR shop. I’m trying to find an alternative (do at home tune) like maybe the Integrated Engineering tune so I don’t have a 6 hour round trip to get the APR tune. Hi from Australia 🇦🇺

Good possibility that the metal has mushroomed underneath, if its come back again. meaning that the metal compressed more. You could add another washer on top to give it more bite for the bolt. Ultimately when spring comes around, I would put some oem mounts in and forget about it.

It's up to you. But adding the washer is increasing the thickness. So that there is more bit. As you drive on them, the metal mushrooms and thins out. Which will give you the rattle, and being on the track. You'll beat your threats up and potentially mess your rod/thread up. So I would just add the washer for now on top. But your choice.

I’m pissed at myself now….so many times I’ve done it and on the most important time I forget about this little piece of sh&@. Gonna try to find time to do it the right way and pray to find someone willing to do an alignment before then

@@vini8101 should be fine without an alignment if one was already done. Just make sure to leave the top strut mount bolts loose, when you put the car on the ground. Then tight both sides up. Should be spot on still. These cars really only have toe and camber is already set. Knock it out and go have a fun track day!

Yeah I've gotten plenty more out of it. New video will come soon. Blew clutch packs a few weeks ago on the starting line. So just upgrading those at the moment, and will show you some numbers.

Keep the car at 400whp, and you won't have any issues. As long as you take care of your maintenance.

Handled it just fine. So fine I went to much bigger turbo and power. 80k zero issues.

@@jamfd3s788 I'm running a Vargas Turbo now. VTT 71mm billet setup. Pushing 34psi daily without issues. You would need additional fueling to run this setup, plus I'm full e85 flex. RS3 brushless pump w/MPI to make it worth while. Should have another video on the channel with the setup.

@@jamfd3s788 Still stock block, but added an ethanol sensor to the ECU. Which requires proper tuning to make it all work.

Yea, I have much faster passes. Currently running 34 psi with meth for cooling. Averaging 3.2 0-60 on street tires. Which is 6 tenths faster than this video just off launch. I'll post more soon, just haven't had time to film. Guys have been asking.

@@SOLOWERKSUSA are the meth tunes set up for running different octanes or do you have to reload tunes when going back and forth between meth and regular octane??? Also this might be a stupid question but where does the tank that holds the meth mount??

@@robertburton8055 I only use meth for cooling purposes. As it acts as a bigger intercooler. Octane I don't need, I run e85 which typically is a e80 rating. My meth tank is my windshield washer tank, so I know when it's low. Dash light will pop on. Plus I have a on/off switch and only run it when I want it. (flex fuel tuning)

No I wouldn't stress over the valve cover. Technically there is no gasket so if those leak, it's RTV reseal. which my brothers gti with 4k miles on it, was done. Smell of coolant is common, as the hoses heat and cool. But if you notice you start to loose coolant, check your water pump. I have a very small trickle of coolant that comes out here there. Nothing to be alarmed about.

We have a new spring setup coming in very soon, another month out I think. But these will give you a 12.5" drop and then give the ability to raise it up to just about stock height of the AT. That run was a shakedown low boost, at 12.0 flat.

No I did, just didn't need to show that part. But that was 50k miles mixed with e85 here and there.

I would check your bearings. But also make sure your springs are clocked properly at the top. If they're turned the opposite direction they can make a popping noise.

Stock HPFP, best to use the MPI.

I don't at this time. As I never got the chance to got the chance to shoot it.

I would start with building up the basics like intercooler, downpipe, things in that nature to get started. Then choose a power goal, and turbo you want to roll with. From there that will determine your next steps. MPI, E85 and such.
