Sealant is a must for tubeless tires! Been on Stans for ages but have had luck with Orange Seal the few times I’ve used it.

Actually looking to switch to an Agarro front/rear on my Signal Peak for the same reason. Want a slightly bit more aggressive tread without going super heavy. 🤘

I have to correct myself, after a few more rides on the agarro I've decided to remove them, the vast majority of my riding is done on lose over hard, and the agarro didn't really seem to be much better on that terrain, it feels like you have more grip but when you push harder the front goes quickly, where the barzo seems to give you more warning, and when it does go it goes slower giving you more time to catch it, also they are quite a lot heavier which makes it slower on xc type peddling tracks, you do notice the extra weight, it feels like you're riding on soft ground, or like I was unfit, I assume the agarro would be better in soft terrain, but I wouldn't recommend it for lose over hard, or hard pack. So I decided to try the syerra, I wasn't expecting much but I was actually very surprised, once again this is just on loose over hard, but its noticeably faster than the agarro, I would say very close to the barzo, and I think it actually has more grip than the agarro too, the tyre has a more round profile and there's a wider channel between the transition knobs and the cornering knobs so they can dig in better, the center knobs are about 4mm tall on both the agarro and the syerra, but they're smaller and spaced further apart on the syerra, also another cool feature is the firmer 60tpi casing which means you can run them at lower pressures, I'm about 73kg and ran 20psi in the front with the barzo and agarro, but I could run 18psi on the syerra no problem, it could probably handle 17psi no problem too, I think this is my new go to tyre, it kind of feels like a more capable barzo.

I feel like im in the same situation as you In Australia, most of our riding is loose over hard, I've done a LOT of XC riding on mezcal/barzo (got over 4000km on a mezcal rear!!!), and researching more aggressive tyre choices. I'm going to Canada For BCBR this year so looking for a a light, durable and grippy option, considering Syerra, Agarro and Mazza, or just sticking with Barzo and adding an insert.

@@hodgo1981 Personally I wouldn't go anything more than the Syerra, the Agarro made me feel unfit, and they didn't give any more grip on loose over hard, I actually think the Syerra gave me more grip in those conditions, and they roll much better, almost as well as the Barzo, in fact I don't even know if I would be able to tell them apart if I rode them blind back to back, the Syerra is my new favorite.

Also in CO. Currently running Martello front and rear. A touch heavy. I’ve also run Agarro front and rear too. I liked the pedaling efficiency of the Agarro but was a touch loose on the sand over hard. Great on rocks but impact was a bit blunt compared to the Martello too. So, I may switch to Martello front, Agarro rear.

Also CO - Mazza / Agarro (both 2.6) is so good. The Mazza up front rolls well and has remarkable grip and composure. The Agarro rolls well but what surprised me and sold me was how much more aggressive it is relative to what you’d expect looking at it. You can break loose when you want but it’s very controlled and desirable in fast tight switchbacks. This combo has been great for dropping anchor when you need too as well - huge plus as I am an aggressive rider. 10/10 combo

Looooove the Agarro, tempted to toss that front/rear on my short travel bike for a bit more bite than my current XC tire setup.

i've even run agarro 2.35 rear on my trail bike. it's very similar tread pattern to a Spec. Ground Control, but the sidewalls and perhaps that graphene adds a little stiffness it feels like, which makes it shine in my area, if i were to compare the 2. @@MTBMA
