I just bought a pair of these with zippers. I have bunions and flat feet (got new orthotics). So these shoes are suitable. But I am worried about the longevity of the soles. My last two pair of Central/Eastern European shoes I bought from Budapest, Hungary, lasted 3 months. Granted they were only $32 and $45 USD each. Fidelios are $280 USD so I expect them to last a long time.

I just bought a pair of Women's Fidelio shoes that look like the Issac. I have experience with pedestrian (not a medical version) of Central/Eastern European shoes. The Fidelios remind me of those because the leather is thin and it fits the foot. But my Central/Eastern European shoes worn out quickly in 6 months. The Fidelio shoes are expensive ($320 CAD or $280 USD). Do you know how long the soles will last? Thanks.

Bought my first pair of Mephistos. They are probably the most comfortable shoes i’ve ever owned. The quality is really great, worth every penny.

They don’t mention the welt on their website, I had no idea they could be re soled! Thank you for this information.

Hello mr bodell. I have ankle arthritis and foot toes arthritus.its very painful. I wear leather sas and keen shoes for support. Your suggestion of finn ikuberom is helpful, here in Canada $400.00, so a big investment. .my podiareisr insisted custom orthotics would cure problem ~it has not. Im considering purchasing from you, are shipping and customs tricky experience usa to canada?

Thank you sir, for that information very informative. I’m dealing with plantar fasciitis in the worst way. I’ve tried New Balance, Hoka , Brooks and now using ASICS Gel Kayano 29 Mk , Gel Cumulus 29s and just bought Saucony Guide 16s and hoping for the best. Flat feet and arthritis in ankles. Nobody measures shoes like this anymore and I can see why more people have foot issues now than before. I sure wish we had a great store like yours and a owner like Mr Bodell

EXCELLENT INFORMATIVE VIDEO! 100 percent correct. Amazing i learned how to use a brannok device from Mr. Marty (Altman Shoes) in Chicago mid 80s. He said all the same things to me and i was able to properly fit the gentleman and sold more shoes. i learned a trick from "Buckner" Top salesman at Chernins to always rub ur thumb across the instep of a brand-new fitted shoe it makes their feet feel good. and to hide one shoe while i went to the back and brought out a min of 5 pairs of shoes plus shoe trees! beautiful times. i sure do miss them. These have by far the best arch support of any piece of footwear I’ve owned. One downside with this slipper design is that they aren’t that durable where the cork sole is glued to the felt, but you can repair them with Shoe Goo. Gets you another few years of use out of them.
