    I have been working in real estate the last 10 years, which is really in the tank long term due to lack of inventory, sellers holding on to their refinanced homes and ever high interest rates. I have applied for at least 200 jobs of all kinds in Columbus OH in the last two years with disappointing results. right now I’m working a 15 hour a week hectic office job with no benefits and doing 1099 real estate transaction work for a realtor that I pay 30% taxes on for each flat fee closed transaction. These jobs are both for individual small business owners and when they go on vacation or have a bad month, then I get no income or less income. Since I own a condo with a mortgage, car payment and buy my own health insurance on the ACA each month it’s very challenging to get by. I totally understand what you’re saying about coffee not making a significant difference when lack of benefits, lack of enough steady hours and lack of decent hourly pay are the real underlying issues!

    Velocity banking is helping to get me out of the debt hole I didn't know how to get out of. I opened a PLOC to help with contributing to three funerals during the pandemic after losing family members. I wasn't being consistent with paycheck parking every payday and overleveraged. Now 90 days back in, it has really helped me mentally and financially with a path forward to pay off all my debt including my mortgage and student loans. I've set up leveraging limit to avoid overleverages and payment schedule. I avoided the HELOC option. I use my experience in excel and knowledgeable experts on YT to keep me on track. Velocity Banking works.

      @FierceRichMoney 18 часов назад

      I'm glad you found a way to make it work. The issue I have is most people use a HELOC and not a person line of credit. It can end really badly. I'm sorry you lost 3 family members during the pandemic.

      @@FierceRichMoney Thank you for the kind words. The pandemic was a trying time for us all. The HELOC seems to get a lot of folks in trouble with Velocity Banking. I find that paycheck parking and keeping a realistic budget are the keys to successful Velocity Banking consistently. Its not the magic pill but the boost forward needed.

  • @elizabethengquist4185
    @elizabethengquist4185 4 дня назад

    I would not use a heloc for this, just make extra payments to principal.

  • @elizabethengquist4185
    @elizabethengquist4185 4 дня назад

    It works well with credit cards as long as they don't reduce your credit line right after your lump payment. You can remedy that by putting in multiple small payments to the card till you get the amount you want in there.

    You’re not alone! I panicked when I turned 60 and realized I was unemployed, $30K in debt with nothing saved for retirement. I got busy fixing my problem - sold everything, moved into a cheap apartment above a storefront, launched my own business and cut expenses to the bone. 4 years later, I’m debt-free with a solid emergency fund. We use Aldi for basics, don't miss a rewards card because the reward is that it's so much cheaper. I'm American but live in the UK, one of my first trips back to the US I practically hyperventilated in a Safeway cereal aisle, an entire huge aisle devoted to cereal 😂I couldn't handle the OTT choice overwhelm, who needs that much cereal??! My favourite Aldi special product are the Lebkuchen holiday cookies, they're my one-a-day with my morning coffee and make me extremely happy!

    I agree with most of what you said, what really bugs me is when I find something we like, then it’s gone! However, the produce at our ALDIs is generally pretty good. I’m in the east metro area of Phoenix and we got ALDIs a couple of years ago. The stores are brand new, so maybe that has something to do with it. I rarely buy anything in the aisle of shame though, lol. The store brand quality is inconsistent, but I’ve learned what to buy. But it’s one store that I shop at for best prices or exclusive products. Within four miles of my house in any direction, I have Kroger, Trader Joe’s, ALDIs, Costco, Target and Walmart. I visit all of them, buying the best deals or best quality products. We also have Safeway, Albertsons, Sprouts and Whole Foods, but I rarely shop in those stores due to higher prices.

      I’m in a NYC suburb and we don’t have aldis or lidl. I go to the aldis when I visit a friend. We’re actually limited in the number of grocery stores. Ha! Ha! I agree about Aldi’s. That’s number 1. Aldi’s moved into our community about 10 yrs.ago. I believe I’ve shopped there a handful of times. It’s puzzling their parking lot is always packed. Number 2. Costco 3. Sam’s Club. The stores are okay, however, we decided buying in bulk was saving money.. We were wasting much more than saving. And my partner’s biggest complaint about Costco and Sam’s? Why should we pay to shop there when you can walk into Walmart and Kroger’s for free. 😄😃

      What I save more than pays for the membership. I agree buying in bulk can be wasteful or you eat too much. We only buy items that we eat or use at the same pace as from a regular store. We avoid the tempting snacks and candy, I’d definitely overeat!

    • @FierceRichMoney
      @FierceRichMoney Месяц назад

      For me, buying is bulk has been a money saver. I buy all paper products, coffee, seltzer my son likes, half and half and milk. The savings from that alone more than pays for the membership. The half and half is $1.50 less and milk is also $1.50 less. It's totally worth it for us. We do buy other things there. I also make sure it's not going to be something we throw out because we didn't use it all.

    It is not the aisle of shame ; its the GOODIE AISLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree: it is not a pretty shopping experience; it is very basic. The product selection is becoming more diverse. Flashback to 20 years ago there was one version of everything and not much gourmet items. If Aldis doesnt have it, I dont buy it. The quality of the private brands has improved over the years too. You have to know your price points because not EVERYTHING at Aldi is cheaper. And you can really blow your budget on the gourmet items. Since I go there all the time, I know where everything is; they dont move things around all of the time.

The downside for us is being in our early 60’s with no retirement other than social security. Fortunately, our mortgage is low. But we’ll have to work part time to supplement.

    Just to verify... this is velocity banking, isn't it?? In a simplified version anyway (it uses minimum + interest rate in it's actual formula I believe to prioritize debt repayment). The term I believe they would use is "creating cash flow"

    • @FierceRichMoney
      @FierceRichMoney Месяц назад

      No it isn't. But you are creating more cash flow but not through borrowing. Velocity banking is using a line of credit to pay off debt then you pay off the line of credit. It's usually home equity. I don't like this because you HAVE to be extremely disciplined and not continue to use credit cards or decide to buy a new car. I've read too many stories about people losing their homes because of HELOC and Velocity banking. This is you pick the debt with the highest minimum payment to focus on. For me I chose my car loan to pay off first. The minimum payment was the highest - $325ish. The interest rate was low 5%ish. When I paid that off I had an additional $325 to put towards the next debt. You're not borrowing, you're paying your debt with what you're earning. Only borrow money if you have tried everything. It should be a last resort. The avalanche and snowball would not have me pick my car loan. It was a low interest rate - no avalanche, and it was not my smallest debt - no snowball. This method now gives me the $325 to put towards my other debts. To sum it up - this method has you pick a which debt you want to focus on first by minimum payment. You don't borrow money. You pay the debt payments by the money you are earning. You did give me the idea to do a video about the dangers of velocity banking and HELOCs.

    • @greatwhitenorthtreasures3606
      @greatwhitenorthtreasures3606 Месяц назад

      @@FierceRichMoney You do not have to borrow any "new" money (from a HELOC or PLOC or anything else insane to me like a first lien on a home etc) to use the concepts of Velocity Banking. You can use your existing expenses and earned income alone to employ this if you have any current debts (which is already borrowed money). And you can increase your cash flow so you can pay off that existing debt faster. (You can check out the channel @Ask Me How I Budget to see how someone does this not using a HELOC or PLOC - she doesn't post vids anymore but she does show how this works) Probably a spreadsheet comparing the methods (and hybrids of methods) would demonstrate how much total interest and time it would take to pay off debt would prove which "method" works. I am a 57 year old single female. No debt, no savings, no assets and live in a rented caravan. Am learning disabled and a low income earner. Was bankrupted by a bank in 2017 (The government makes your life public, literally) but have been living without any debt for 10 years. I also don’t budget, there is no point. I have no choice but to stop spending when the eftpos machine says Declined. When you only earn just enough to pay basic living costs you are literally living in survival mode and in the reality of your situation. That tends to change ones beliefs about money. Try getting excited about budgeting for the future when your income will only pay basic living costs, its pretty depressing. Its tough if you have a physical disability but doubly hard when you are learning disabled as well. Life is stacked against me pretty well. Job opportunities are limited. You don’t have to spend time trying to change your money beliefs if you are forced to take action in order to just survive, your beliefs about everything changes pretty quick. And you just don’t have time in your life to ponder on what rich people think about. Here are my 5 practical tips. 1. Commit to a goal and don’t have a plan B, its do or die (most don't have the guts). 2. Put blocks in place so you can never get into debt again. 3. You won’t need guilt and regret or forgiveness because your brain will be focused on survival. Looking forward is a natural instinct. 4. Be the healthiest you can. I am always amazed at people who have a lot more money than me can have so many lifestyle illnesses. 5. Make as many mistakes as you can and pay attention to all the consequences. If you protect yourself from making mistakes you will learn nothing and you’ll be taken advantage of by others. You learn to see opportunities pretty quick when rent day is coming and borrowing just is not an alternative. And yep they all suck. But once you become accustomed to your new lifestyle, you will be thankful and you will literally wonder how you even existed before. When I look back at my earlier beliefs, today they just seem bizarre and non-sensical. The only two regrets I have is 1. that I didn’t live by these rules before I got into debt. 2. Getting into any debt at all. Today I live literally in the reality of my situation, there is no other alternative or choice. Its waiting for me every morning I wake up. For me, its not about looking back or trying to decipher my money beliefs, the reality has been a lack of life skills. Debt was my security blanket and I was enabled by it. Just like a husband or wife enables their addicted spouse. If you want to know what your mindset is about money, ask yourself “what would you do if you could never borrow money again.” See how much fear comes up and see how quick to run to the comfort of debt and spending. That will give you a start to change your money beliefs.

    My partner encourages investments. He talks about this with anyone willing to listen. I recently invested in the stock market, certificate of deposit for example. I plan on leaving these investments alone for 10 years. I should have enough in my reserve to pay rent, utilities, car insurance and etc;... in the meantime, especially if my partner’s health starts to fail ( or mine in his case ). It’s never too late to start.

    When I have been in financial crisis all extra expenses had to go. Simply because any extra expenses were keeping me broke. And simply put I didn’t have the money for extras no matter their value. I don’t think pointing out easy things to cut is criticism. If you are watching their video and don’t agree that’s okay. If they are sharing their opinion on their channel that’s ok too. It’s a different matter if they are criticizing your videos but even then it’s okay to have a different viewpoint as long as they aren’t mean.

      In the Scandinavian/Nordic countries they practice Hygge which is the concept of creating a cozy welcoming home which includes many candles and blankets particularly during the winter months as it darker for longer. I do it myself here in rural Ontario. Scandinavian countries are known to be amongst the happiest countries on earth. Nothing wrong with a few candles 😅. Thanks for the video

    I used to believe “positively” would make everything okay, especially when things were terrible. I got my head out of the sand and faced my challenges. I believe this also landed me in bankruptcy court years ago ( fake positivity ). If bankruptcy doesn’t bring you back to reality - nothing will. Since that terrible time of my life, I resolved to keep my bills paid up and told myself NO to unnecessary purchases.

    I will never understand why people continue to promote debt! Credit scoring is a f@#*ing scam and should not be supported by the public. Its rigged against us as you have pointed out. I have lived on a solely cash basis for 10 years. I have a statement on my credit report that I put against it to make sure that I can never get into debt again. It is also pin locked. I live in New Zealand so maybe its different in your country. I flat out refuse to do business with any entity that wants to put a mark against any credit report that is held against me by credit reporting agencies. I am a 57 year old female and live in a rented caravan in a camping ground. I also am self employed earning a low income so I don't actually have to live out of my car. My gross annual income as I reported to our tax department last year was less than $40,000. I can barely afford even basic cost of living. Lady if you have a roof over your head, even if its owed by the bank you are still rich as far as I am concerned. Because a house is still a tangible asset unless your mortgage has exceeded its value. And if you want a high credit score (in New Zealand) just file for bankruptcy or be forced into it by the high court and wait 7 years. My credit score today is more than 800 out of 1000 according to Equifax. And there is not a single debt entry on it! And if you want to sort your debt out - try giving up your addictions! And no I'm not a financial expert. The biggest regret in my life is getting into any debt at all. At least today I am free of it, forever. There's a reason why Dave Ramsay says "a credit report shows that you have been playing kissy face with the banks". He's right. I will never make peace with a corrupted financial system and I actively make submissions to our parliament asking for changes so we cannot continue being exploited.

    I’m 38 with a 17 yr old son. I wasn’t able to work good jobs when he was young because I was a single mom and didn’t have a babysitter for him and couldn’t afford daycare. I went to college thinking it would help me to get a good job but it didn’t. I ended up in a lot of school loan debt. I didn’t get a “decent” paying job until I was 30 but I have raked up tons of credit card debt and doctor bill debt as well just paying for groceries, gas etc and keep us afloat. My rent has went up $150 in 3 yrs and it’s breaking me even more. I’m thinking about finding a new job altogether next year or a second job once my son graduates high school.
