Guderian's Blitzkrieg II Introduction
I just got done playing Germantown in this series. So much fun!
I haven't played that one yet.
Thanks for this series...I'm enjoying it.
Me too.
Morning! 👍👍
I suspect your morning is close to my afternoon in the northeast ;)
Morning!
I am not big on point-to-point games, but these mini games are quite tolerable and fun
I prefer hexes too, but I do play with area and point to point systems.
I'm enjoying your Decision Games videos. I'm a miniature tabletop wargamer that is now dabbling into the hex and counter games. I am playing some of the Revolutionary War games right now. (Saratoga and Germantown). I still get a little confused on the attacking multiple hexes. Good stuff! Keep at it! Subbed.
Thank you. I have been watching your videos from my other RUclips account. I am enjoying them.
Congrats on your nomination!
thank you. I forgot what year that was.
👍👍
I'm curious how you select the half dozen or so magazine games you cover for each episode. I have not been able to detect a pattern.
There is a pattern. It is their BGG rating from Top to lower.
@@localcitizen3531, ah!
👍👍
👍👍
Thanks for the video replays! Really enjoy them.
I love the cover of Boudicca!
👍👍
👍👍
Having choices on how you can use your aircraft is always good. Having enough aircraft to cover everything is another matter. Have a good day.
The air system definitely drew me to OCS

I have the version of Speed Circuit from 3M in the vinyl folding case ... great fun!
👍👍
Wow, Speed Circuit...a definite blast from the past. I played it extensively in my youth. I had the extra track pack and the cardboard instrument dashboards. While I somehow kept all my Avalon Hill games through 40 years of moving, Speed Circuit was the one that didn't survive.
Played a lot of Speed Circuit in my youth. Great game. I didn't have extras. Loved being able to create your own car set ups.
Great collection sir. Enjoying (catching up-again) your videos. Happy New Year. Be safe. Be well.
Thanks, you too!
OCS. Yes? I've played (and own) four SCS. Two were not completely satisfying. What would be the correct starter game for OCS?
Again. Love MMP counters n maps.
OCS is tough because they go out of print so quickly.
Dean=Brilliant. Dean, you are missed.
I do really like their maps n counters
Me too.
Looks good.
I am enjoying this series very much. All the best to you and your family for 2025
Thank you. I am really enjoying making these.
👍👍
I need to get around to playing Soviet Dawn ... perhaps in 2025!
What % of your magazine game collection do you not have the magazine? And in those cases, is it usually that you never got the magazine, or that you had it but got rid of it? Curious minds want to know ... 🙂
I am not sure about the percentage. Most of the games gave a magazine. There are typically two reasons why I don't have the magazine. Sometimes I buy from eBay 'game only'. Also, when I was writing for Decision Games, they only sent me the game without the magazine.
Storage is often a problem. I inadvertently opened a cupboard whilst looking for socks and found an entire impi of Zulus that I had forgotten about. The best solution for storage is an understanding wife. Many of us who are miniature wargamers have struggled with deeply loved women who have exclaimed "You nutter, you have been buying colonial figures again". I can only suggest that true love will find a rocky path. I've had seventeen years of this, no understanding of wargames, but still very pretty. I've never understood what she has got against Zulus. A man can never have enough Zulus..
I still have The Year of the Rat. Haven't played it in years. Somewhere on the shelves. It's so often just history or love. You don't think about it often if at all.
Thank you for sharing that ... I have a number of Operations Magazines, but haven't got around to reading them yet.
I wish Dean had done more interviews although there are a few out there.
I would be interested in seeing your storage solution for your magazine game collection. Boxes? Hanging File Folders? Just standing up on a book shelf? Ziplocks pinned to the wall? Other?
I have a 4 drawer filing cabinet with hanging files plus 8 boxes on the floor and about 10 stacking desk trays on the floor. I have F&M, Moves Operations, and stuff in addition to the games. Not a great solution. It's a bitch finding stuff.
@@localcitizen3531, for the stackable desk trays, how many magazine games does it typically hold per tray?
@@MeanderingMikesManCave It's the miniatures, mostly 28mm that I have found troublesome. They take up even more space than boardgames. Short of buying Alaska I am pretty much screwed. I keep buying more wardrobes but my wife has begun to notice. She wanders into them expecting Narnia but it's normally a collection of SPI games from the seventies. She nearly lost an eye when Patton's Third Army fell on top of her. She has been a tad frosty ever since. Narnially appropriate as I foolishly said. Sometimes I think my wife has no sense of humour.
Very nice series of videos. I don't know much about the OCS games, so this is providing a nice overview of the game play.
Definitely a unique system.
Lots of good games. Thank you
So many games ... so little time ... I know how that is!
Very well done. I especially liked the images of the games being played.
Looking forward to seeing more!
More to come!
I have the Special Operations Magazine games. Not sure about C3i Plan Orange ... I will have to check.
Enjoble overview, a few games in there I wouldn't mind trying myself. Seasons greetings.
Very nice video, the hour-by-hour progression of events tells an intriguing story. I have several games from the library and really like the overall colour palette used in the game maps and counters. I'll look forward to any other videos you may do in this series.
Thank you. I would like to cover more from this series.
Evening. Got Plan Orange. Not played 😢 yet
Very good game. (If you like Empire of the Sun.)
Enjoyed that. With thanks.
Much obliged.
Interesting little game. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the visit
Ardennes II is currently on sale at MMP! (Through Monday, Dec 16th).
So far I have only played The Mighty Endeavor ... I definitely need to get more SCS to the table ... perhaps in 2025!
Make sure to film some of it, please.
@@localcitizen3531, 97.2% likely!
I have never been a fan of hypothetical history. I think, having trained as a historian years ago, I have one boo,k on the subject and a couple of wargames treating of the Cold War gone hot. But I am tremendously enjoying this playthrough. I suppose it is not all princesses and the relief of Mafeking but I still feel dirty. If I don't comment before the holidays my best wishes and thanks for your hard work. It will be of little interest except to myself but my favourite wargame ever was SPI's War Between the States, a flawed masterpiece. The love of old games and women sir will stamp us most happily for all time.
Yeah. What ifs and hypothetical are not my favorites. I did cover a few when I was writing for Decision Games in the past. Another one I ended up liking was Leningrad 41 what if. But I didn't like 1940 What if Germany went East. I liked the old SPI oil war and Libya.
I’d forgotten I have Karelia and that I also had played it, great game.
Great game.
Morning.
My two favorites are Rostov 41 n Panzer Battles.
Good collection. Appreciate your videos
Thanks for doing this, I have a number of these games including the first editions of Africa and Stalingrads pocket both of which I have played and enjoyed. I’ve also got Ardennes, Operation Michael, Rock of the Marne and Guadalajara all of which I have yet to get round to.
I have four and I think only two will ever get replayed
Which four do you have? Which two will get replayed?
Keep it rockin' !
