Today me and my dad went carting in the kubota m9540 and it pulled very well for saying what big loads we had on it and I did have gloves and protection on so I would not get injured
You should be able to find a pulley guard too getting rare but look great when fitted
@@kymvalleygardensdesign5350 yes I managed to find one by the end. Sold her last year sadly would love to get one back tho
Oh no, had mine for 12 years absolutely love it but sadly I too have to sell mine with a very heavy heart
Where do you find these tractors? Do you look on the Internet, or is it local sales? I really want a Leyland that I physically own. My Dad owns the 285. I want a 472 or 272 or 2100. On the Internet, they are like 7K to 8k
@@robo919 I go to sales and the odd time end up with a tractor but I normally find them on Facebook or eBay. On Facebook If you go on a leyland group sometimes you see people looking or selling them that’s how I found this late leyland. The 472 was from a sale but I found it on Facebook.
Do you still have your 472?
@@robo919 yea ofc! When I took this video she was planting pumpkins 😂. Thanks for the comment
@thomasproudfarmlife3045 No problem, I'm just a huge Leyland/Marshall tractor fan. We've got a Leyland 285 in immaculate original condition. No dents, and everything works fine. Engine, gearbox, hydraulics
@@robo919 I’d love a 6 cylinder leyland like a 285! I’ve also bought a late leyland which is an 802 so it’s just before they switched to the Marshall name so it’s yellow! I’ll do a video on it soon!
@@thomasproudfarmlife3045 That would be awesome to see!
that 1212 tractor 🚜 😊 the starter needs 2 be rebuilt anytime U have 2 tap it it's sticking.😮😮 do U have a starter shop close by the sooner its fixed the better 1 day 😮😮 it will say click click and then it will all it wrote folks nothing more then it will have 2 be fixed 😊😊 I had 2 take a tractor starter and generator 2 the shop be 4 they had both of them ready the next day 😊😊 OMG 7 9 2O24
That's a lovely 990.,there a super tractor.
Good Cleanup job. Keep up the good work 👍💪
Has been a long time lol love david Brown's em like marmite both cracking tractors particularly like the 990
Yea tried to post a few videos but RUclips keep on taking them down for child safety! Thanks for the comment again she is nice hoping to get the 1212 like that one day
I'm pretty sure what you tried to post is far better than the rubbish that gets allowed. Personally I'd cover the 1212 in a oily rag it looks cracking like it is
@@jonperry4657 thanks. I agree with what you’re saying how some things get allowed but not this is beyond me! I know what you’re saying about the 1212 it’s just that It’s been brush painted not very well on the bonnet but we will see. Trying to get that ford 5610 looking good first.
When starting push the cold start button in on the stop leaver on the injection pump ,make sure before pushing button in you have throttle fully back, then itll start straight up
Wot h P is it
It’ll would’ve had 72hp
IMT made in Serbia
Nice example. Drove one of these 20 years ago. Could of done with a turbo on road. But nice balanced machine.
When was it built and which company built the front wheel assist unit .from alison sadler England 🇬🇧
It was built in 1979. I’m not sure what company built it. Will it have the name of it on the axle?
Carraro built the front axle usually. They are an Italian company. They also supplied units for ford's,zetors, masses, etc. Lovely tractor ,Tom. I have 2 Leylands here. 262s and a 272 crash box. Happy and safe driving. Best regards from Ireland
@@mogwaifan7094 thank you! She’s a lovely tractor. Looking at possibly buying a crash box 262 soon. Brilliant tractors lovely to drive aswell!
Absolutely love a 472 lucky you!!
Evening Tom nice to see your subscribers creeping up good on you. Well what an absolutely beautiful gem off a tractor you got there genuine beautiful tractor i love it I've got tractor envy you can see its been well cared for look after it and it will last you for years
Thank you! It’s lovely to see more people enjoy my videos and thank you for still watching mine! It’s a lovely tractor and I hope it will keep its money and I will definitely keep this undercover! Thanks for watching
What tractors have you got left out of the original line up?
@@jonperry4657 the dexta, mf35 and the grey fergy.
Your very lucky to get the chance to own such a safe 472 I'm looking for one this past 2 yrs and rear to come upon one . Your correct that is the hand pto clutch .I drew silage in the 80s on an 270 with a 10 speed crash gearbox it was a rocket on the road and super traction in the fields .l love it . Beautiful hum from it . May you have many hrs of fun on it as you will always remember those days .kieran in Ireland 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! You will find one if you keep looking! There was 462 not long ago at a farm sale before we got this one. Still was in very good condition. They’re lovely tractors I am looking at buying a cheap 262 soon but I’m not sure yet. Thanks for watching
Seen your tts
Cheers pal
This is countrylife how it has to be👍
Yaay Kubota
cool
nice smoke up on start up[ - is your finger ok now?
Yes bit out of shape but considering it was only held on by a peice of skin at the time it’s doing well. Thanks
very nice
Thank you 🙏 I’ll do a video on the dexta the next time I get it out
Don't worry about the winning brown. That's normal.
Nice collection. A nice whinny David brown.
They were the spitfire of agriculture.
Morning Tom cracking video nowt wrong with Lil grey fabulous tractors the spanner should have markings on it for setting up the plough etc if there on there it's original spanner 🔧 😀. I've got a 1952 petrol tvo lovely tractor. I'm guessing the rear wheel set narrow on one side is for ploughing normally both wheels are set narrow it helps with the finishing furrows in a match where points count.
Thanks for the comment. I’ll have to check for markings on the spanner to see if it’s original! Yes it was used for ploughing matches so I would assume that’s why the wheel is set out like that. The petrol ones in my opinion sound nicer than diesel. Thanks!
Can you just take the pulley wheel of on it's own
It is hard to just find a wheel for it and because I bought one that I knew was going to be alright we just thought it would be easier to take the whole thing off
@@thomasproudfarmlife3045 thanks for your reply I've got a 1958 fordson power major and the flat belt pulley seal started to leak quite bad I took it to a mate of mine and he got it off and put a new seal in and put it back on in an hour now no leak so all well with the old girl 👍👍
Just oiled and greased my FSM. She has a pulley for a sawbench which is used regularly. Lovely collection. I have been running them for over 70 years, starting with a 1940's fordson which had a gang mower that I drove when at prep school to cut the playing field as part of our outdoor learning course aged 8 or 9. so you have a lifetime of fun ahead of you. Enjoy and thank you for posting.
She does sound sweet! Nice Super, I got 2 Supers here in Wisconsin USA. Make sure you use the excess fuel button when starting cold, will start much easier.
Oh nice! Lovely tractors! I’m not entirely sure where the button is. I’ll have to have a look. Thanks
@@thomasproudfarmlife3045 if you're standing and looking at the fuel injection pump, the cold start button is to the left hand side. Set the throttle about halfway open and then push the button, and then start the tractor and idle it down as necessary. It'll make a world of difference on cold starts.
@@calvinkalmon6746 thank you! I will definitely use it from now on!
Very nice major 👍
Thank you 😀
Evening young Thomas well I loved the video it's my sort of thing I think maybe what you used was tfr-traffic film remover it's excellent for getting gunk and grim off 😀 just one tip i would go around with the grease gun give her a grease up so it pushes out any water. Major looks better with those brackets taken of and well done on keeping her original looks smashing with the pto in place try and keep a look out for a guard just to finish it off talking of guards the pto cover if you look there is bolts that hold the pto shaft in place you loosen 2 then put the guard in behind the bolts then retighten I see yours has been modified originally they was 2 holes in the cover where you have to remove x2 bolts completely then fit the cover then refit the bolts some people took out a slice out of each side to save time mine luckily is still as per original. Keep up the good work your a credit to your generator
Thank you very much! I’ll have to keep a look out for one of them guards. The pto guard is a little bit broken so I’ll have to weld a little piece on or try to. I’ll grease it all up this week. Thank you for your comment it is very appreciated!
Sorry if this video is a little bit boring! It’s one of them videos where I don’t want to not show any of the jet washing but I don’t want to put lots in as it could get boring!
Not boring at all! Love to see majors and hear them running.
Unfortunately not being a top branded name kubota gets overlooked but I must say you got an absolute gem there nice and tidy been well looked after in the past 👌
Yep it’s sad how they get hated on definitely! Would definitely call them an underrated brand. She has been kept in very good condition and it will probably last us forever now!
first again :)
They’ve not taken it down yet thank god 😂 had to kind of put some bits in the description that makes me look safe
GO SLOWER - fecking slacker!!! what are you? 12 year old? slower than walking pace get a bigger roller or a gang/pair if you whsat to cover more ground in the same time Waste of time otherwise
There ain't no tune like a major's they got a bark to them I was using mine the other day chain harrowing absolutely loved it
Yea they do sound pretty nice 👌🏻 just gets a bit cold after a while😂
I always say I'd sooner be cold and dry than wet and cold
990 is the beest
Very good tractor! Use to have a weird looking cab on it nothing like a Duncan or a Lambourn one. Never seen anything like it but when we bought it it had been taken off.
That’s pretty cool! You have a great collection of tractors!!
Thank you! I’ve been trying to find some ones for my collection and these are what I’ve found I’m very happy with all of them so far! The clutch has just gone on the 35 so that will need fixing which is the only bad thing
What a cracking selection of tractors you got I wouldn't sell your Lil grey she's gorgeous
Thank you! The only reason It was up for sale is because I was looking for a bit of a bigger tractor a bit bigger than my new major. But I would love to keep it she’s a cracking little tractor to be fair.
I've got a David Brown selectamatic 880 she's my favourite 😍 also got a 1958 Fordson major E1A I grew up with and a petrol/tvo Lil grey 1952 I've given her a full nut and bolt rebuild my only mistake was not buying a diesel lol
@@jonperry4657 David browns are brilliant aswell! Always start first turn and will work all day every day
I've just subscribed to your channel I've found you by chance I think you got the right attitude and content to reach your goal fair play to you and you are the next generation which is vital. David browns are like marmite you either love em or hate em my first tractor I ever drove aged 10 was a 996 it was massive back then lol. Keep up the good work and good luck to you
@@jonperry4657 thank you very much! Yes the only thing stopping me is RUclips every time I post a video with my face it gets taken straight down! But thank you for subscribing I really appreciate it.
We had the Super Major in the US I think it was much the same. Really liked it except the pto didn't turn when the clutch was pushed in.
Good old tractors. That means that it would have not been live drive. All old tractors without live drive stopped the pto when the clutch was pressed. With live drive like mine you press it half way and it keeps spinning to allow you to change gear while keeping the implement working… but if you press it fully it would cut off.
first like 😉
