Hey how's the resin on the models? I bought in when PP was redoing warmachine and found their new resin to be way too brittle. Is the resin steamforge uses any better? I'd love to buy back into warmachine, but that's holding me up

Don’t think I heard any cryx news but I might have missed it

The Gharlghast still not getting access to empower still really disappoints me. I like the change to give him shield guard from the solo, but the biggest feel bad for me when using it is its guns suck compared to the other colossals, and those others can shoot their superior guns with free focus from empower. To contribute anything approaching meaningful on the approach is a huge drain to the Leader :(

Sitting here painted Kruger as I listen to how this model will change. Really look forward to seeing the full spread of these changes and the new Steamroller document.

I really liked how you took the time to explain each move and your thought process clearly, as well as posting up the relevant abilities on the screen. Often in Battle Reports I feel frustrated because it's basically just a VOD with little explanation or the expectation you know the models, their abilities, and what they are doing without explaining them. Here I knew everything going on, why you were doing what your were doing, and why the game played out like it did. Good stuff!

How does the soulless guardian shield wall work with knockdown auras? Is the sequence of events 1) move soulless guardian into knockdown aura 2) place all of the remaining guardians in B2B 3) the no knockdown effect of shield wall prevents the knockdown aura I think without seeing this battle report I'd have played it as if any model entering the knockdown aura would be knocked down immediately, before the model placement which triggers shield wall occurs.

Good stuff! Interesting to hear the discussions about growing the community. It'd be nice to see links to each group involved if ye got em!

I was excited to pick this up until I saw that the models come in several pieces that need to be glued together. Gonna have to pass on this one. I feel that Warmachine went downhill after it was purchased by SFG.

the new models look way better. the high impact just looks higher quality. they might not be as durable as the 3d but its a worthwhile trade off.

I love this game, but at the same price point Games Workshop’s Kill Team 2 player starter set literally came with everything you need to play (and replay). Dice, tons of terrain a playing board and actual physical rules (I know I’m old school but I like the tangible with my games.). This came with four sprues of plastic. As a fan I will still buy it, I was really hoping for more.

Is there a starter rule set or do you just have to use the full rulebook to learn to play?

I prayed an absolute ton of mk.2 and a little of mk.3 and I’ve always been a fan of the lore and the system. Mk.4 had me a little hesitant but I ended up getting some cygnar and the 3d models are absolutely delightful. My only real gripe is no protecorate or circle…. Yet.

Question, my understanding with mk4 is that all of the warjaks and warbeasts had swappable parts that are supposed to be magnetized. Is that included or possible with is kit?

GW has really made the notion of "value" twisted is you yhink a dingle model would be worth $50. These are plastic not solid copper. But will agree that the box is at a decent price point. That being said, I'm not sure what makes this a starter set if it doesn't include quick start rules or tokens or anything you need to play other than models.

We’re eagerly awaiting our copy and this has made the wait more unbearable lol. SFG makes some fantastic plastic miniatures and it looks like they put the full force of that expertise into this starter. I’m not 100% sure what I was expecting with the terrain, but a couple plastic ponds/lakes definitely wasn’t it. Not a compliant, just a pleasant surprise.
