2024-25 NJ Sterling Hill Mine Model
I made a SketchUp Pro 2022 CAD model of the New Jersey Zinc Co. Sterling Hill mine at Ogdensburg in order to derive the volume of ore removed and characterize the structural nature of the ore deposit. Ore petrogenesis stems from Grenville-age, granulite-facies metamorphism associated with oblique, left-lateral, reverse faulting and shearing on the Zero fault within the Franklin Marble.

A Google Earth Pro video of the earthquake sequence that is timestamped and symbolized by varying magnitudes. The base map includes the 1:100K bedrock geology (USGS) and 1:24K LiDAR-based fault lines and bed-ridge traces. Blue lines are synclines and red ones, anticlines. Things are messy.

An animated SketchUp Pro model of Earths' lopsided mantle plumes with respect to a satellite-derived snapshot of Earth's extraterrestrial radiation belts that highlight the asymmetric nature of out geomagnetic field. The animations set to Dispatch's "Ain't Messin Around" song.

An animated rending of Earth's structural components responsible for generating our planetary electromagnetic field. CAD rendering and animation done using SketchUp Pro 2020.
2023 Ohio U Impact Tectonics Movie
Просмотров 284Год назад
This 22-minute short video was produced to help explain how large asteroid and comet impacts on Earth and Mars have catastrophic biological and tectonic consequences that are normal aspects of terrestrial-planet evolution. A new theory called Punctuated Tectonic Equilibrium is proposed to account for the periodic fluxes that Earth and Mars are subjected to from cosmic forces that are not yet co...
2020 GSA GCH Nazca lines

The Nasca lines likely originated from human augmentation of natural hydrogeological conditions to divert seasonal water flowing down mountain streams into irrigated fields sitting atop a perched aquifer with gently tilted bedrock directing hydraulic flows. The Nazca lines were developed to take advantage of natural hydraulic conditions reflecting a unique structural setting.
