Oh no, that’s unfortunate! But the good thing is that in Japan, it’s not just MaxValu-almost every supermarket offers affordable and tasty bento. I’m not sure how it works in Thailand, but I hope you can find a good alternative near you!

Xenophobia has definitely increased in Japan, especially on public transport. Whilst working conditions for foreigners has significantly decreased over the decades. Not just a great reduction in salaries for foreigners but also in the rampant power harassment, and stealing of remuneration by Japanese companies from their foreign employees. Gaijinpot has a lot of clients who are known in Japan as Black Companies..... companies employing mafia-style management tactics and cheating practices towards their employees. This is the real state of things in Japan.

StreetKars are the worst, would rather walk or do a bike or e-bike tour than a kart tour that absolutely does obstruct and endanger traffic, not to mention further the projection of foreign/tourists as public nuisances.
