Imagine this: You're in a tough spot, facing eviction and desperately needing assistance to keep a roof over your family's head. That's when you hear about the Housing is Key (HIK) program, a lifeline that could make all the difference. You apply, diligently uploading the required documents, and you wait. Days turn into weeks, and nothing happens. No help arrives, and you're still on the brink of losing your home. This scenario is far too real for countless families who've turned to the HIK program for help. Here's the issue: Many applicants are experiencing a frustrating cycle of uploading documents to the HIK portal, only to face rejection or silence. Some even receive HIK checks that bounce at the bank, leaving them in financial limbo. It's a rollercoaster of emotions - one day, you're told you're approved, and the next, you're hit with a "Sorry, there's a glitch in the system." 2.5 years later. This isn't just about paperwork; it's about lives, homes, and families hanging in the balance. The stress of potential eviction is traumatic, especially when you've promised your landlord that help is on the way. Meanwhile, you're desperately searching for a new place to live, a task made even harder when you have kids in school and limited funds to make such a significant move. Moving isn't just an inconvenience; it's upheaval. It disrupts your life, your kids' education, and your sense of stability. It's emotionally and financially devastating for families already struggling to make ends meet. This situation isn't right. People are suffering, and it's time to hold the HIK program accountable for the promises made. A class-action lawsuit isn't just about seeking compensation; it's about demanding fairness, transparency, and real help for those who need it most. It's about ensuring that the system works as intended, providing genuine assistance to families on the verge of losing everything. In the face of such overwhelming stress and uncertainty, it's our right to seek justice. A class-action lawsuit can be a powerful tool to bring about the change and accountability that's long overdue for HIK program applicants. It's time to stand together and say, "Enough is enough." Can you help these people?

HELP ******** Housing is Key a CALIFORNIA-based program is under scrutiny due to perceived deficiencies in the Housing is Key program. Thousands of landlords and tenants have not been paid for over 2.5 years! A substantial number of individuals, facing imminent eviction and having applied for the program, express a sense of abandonment. Given California's stay-at-home orders, questions have emerged regarding the program's effectiveness in providing solutions. Concerns are also being voiced regarding the allocation of federal funds to HIK and HORNE, with growing evidence that this financial relief is not adequately reaching distressed tenants and landlords. This distressing situation is inflicting severe hardship on families, leading to mounting frustration over the perceived lack of attention given to this pressing issue. In response to these challenges, individuals are actively seeking guidance on where to turn for assistance. facebook.com/groups/californiarentreliefsupportgroup

Landlords need to stop being so greedy with their rent hikes by kicking good paying tenants out on the street and raising the rental rates so high that low income people can't pay those prices they seek. No good paying tenant should live in fear of having their home taken out from beneath them due to Landlords over-rsising the rental rates. It puts older past hard working pensioner out on their butts to end up living in tents to protect themselves from the elements of weather even at ages of pensioners being 70+ yrs old. Good paying pensioners should not have to live in fear of loosing their rental units. They worked hard for yrs and should be left alone to enjoy life, not fear it. What little they do have in life is lost in forcing them out of their homes to end up living on the streets in a tent, (if they even have that over their heads). It's a dsigrace by what these landlords are doing in raising rents so high that people can't eat properly of afford to have a solid roof over their heads. It piles many people into a small rental unit just to have a roof over their heads from the weather. That means crouded living slums to pop up, while landlords get rich on what they charge pre person to live in that small unit. It brings in drugs, and booze. How insane can that be and governments need to take things in hand a stop these landlords from raising rents so high above low income pensioners. It's a total disgrace on what these landlords are doing to get rich on the poor. It also causes a lot of early deaths due to weather exposure, drugs, and booze. Where are the government reps when you need them to act on behalf of the poor? No-where to be seen. They hide away in their comfy homes and do nothing. These people can't afford to buy a home outright as their incomes won't allow it. They need a safe place to live and enjoy life and it's not out on a street living in a tent or in a sleeping bag with little or no food because government cut their pension rates when they lose their rental homes and have to live on the streets. This is deplorable on the parts of both landlords and Government. This has to stop and stop fast. Pensioners need help to have a solid roof over their heads away from the weather. They worked hard in the past and don't deserve this kind of rotten treatment.

Thank you so much for all your webinars put on youtube, bravo. Well, aside that we know rents are going to skyrocket, no one took into account tenants receiving government assistance, if they are given 2 to 3 x rent in cash or receive it in free rent, according to the IRS, that is income to the tenant, it is to be reported on form 1099 misc. A tenant that may be receiving EBT, medi-cal or any other is at risk to possibly suffer a reduction in benefit to losing the benefit. Who knows what problems the city was having to create one of the absolute worst piece of city legislation I have ever seen. What is going to happen with higher rents and many tenants receiving govt assistance will be adding to the homeless populating not reducing it.

really ? or maybe just wanting to know if there will be brats running around making life miserable for all people there ? or maybe destroying the property ? is that really "discriminating" or just being careful about who they allow to move in especially with how difficult it will be to get them out if they do prove to be unruly?

I am a single, full time father & my landlord will not give me a written lease agreement saying that I live here, I need it for an audit, by the irs. My landlord refuses to give me proof of residence, I think it's bc she's not claiming the income on this side of the duplex! Saying nobody lives here, my landlord does NOT live in the other side, I have lived here for 7 years now and I moved into all the problems that I have had thus far. I have fixed almost all of the problems myself, correctly, the first time, out of my pocket, paid the labor out of my pocket, the only thing I got in return, was another threat to kick me out bc I fixed the pipes correctly, and my landlords boyfriend wasn't able to charge her way too much, just to make the problem worse & then I have to repair it myself if I want it fixed..... He saw there was mold all under the flooring in the bathroom, but refused to replace it or even clean it! Now that I have made them "repair" the bathroom floor, I'm being threatened with eviction.... Again. Rent is paid & not behind. I need help here, it's just me and my kid here, my family lives out of town. They threaten me constantly, show up out of the blue demanding me let them in, for no reason, I told them yesterday that they must call & not show up out of the blue bc that's just rude!

Track your banking statements and do not pay by cash. Pay by money order or try to see if you can Zelle/Apple pay or some sort of payment outside of cash. If you pay cash. Stop paying rent. Or if they deny it, fuck them and show your mail has been going there for x amount of months and start squatting. Show receipts of stuff you’ve fixed. Use text messages. Literally trick them into saying it without them showing it. This one seems easy.

If a landlord has a lease option tenant in their property, would it be a faster eviction process vs a tenant in the property on a land contract? Lease option contract vs land contract which is a faster eviction process? I heard land contract can take up to 8 months.
