The FSAE Standard Honeycomb impact attenuator did not crush as expected such that the frame took all the deformation because the pegs at the base of the fixture were ‘roller supports’ rather than ‘fixed supports’ which would be more representative of the rest of the vehicle

UC Davis' Formula Electric 6 (FE6) competed in Lincoln, Nebraska for the Formula SAE Electric competition, winning 4th overall!
Y'all did really good in the skid pad event with a wingless car.
Bro's shop is immaculate. Cannot relate.
I have tried to do the same simulation with my chassis platform. And since last week I am trying to get the right settings with my model. But after all these effort and time ANSYS gave me " AnsysWBU.exe encountered a ploblem.". This program is quite WASTE OF TIME. It does not worth to waste our valuable times with nonsense.

I don't understand, why does my NX only have the tabs Model, DMU, Drawing, Layout??? I don't have any other tabs... :(
Are your pushrods and control arms made of structural steel? If not, does it matter for Ansys sims?
Sorry for the late reply, but yep! 4130 tube steel. Ansys needs proper material property inputs to run accurate simulations - so it does matter.

thanks it was an interesting video. I have a few questions though. q1: how did you come up with the chassis design? how did you size the tubular beams? q2: how did you come up with suspension design? i.e. placement and stiffness? q3: did you analyse the strength of the suspension components in ANSYS?
