My favorite scene from Austrian movie "Revanche". Nominated for 2009 Academy Awards in Foreign-Language Film category.
İnsanın hayatta verdiği mücadeleye
Werent people terribly smelly back then? I wonder if they were just so used to the smell that they didn't even notice it anymore. The whole theater must have smelled terribly
Este fragmento de la película, ilustra el punto alto del maestro, su genio atravesando su complejo, descubriendo que no hay nada mas fuerte que el amor por la música.
Happy birthday B
as good as it gets.

7:07 My favorite moment 🥲
The man was deaf and composed the most beautiful music by feel alone. This is why I consider him to be the greatest musician who ever lived.
He composed with a twig of wheat between his teeth he learned before complety deaf. Vibration ❤
Tan bello! Que afortunada de escuchar esto!🎉😊
Ta scena jest cudowna.
2:36 you can get syphilis simply watching the scene.
I am a musician. I occasionally asked other musicians that I respected what is the single greatest piece of music ever written. Overwhelmingly the answer is Beethoven’s 9th. I remember the first time I ever heard it. I was spellbound. That was many decades ago. I haven’t changed my mind.
Ironically, at the time audiences didn't like Ode to Joy at all.
Why i see Nagisa Kaworu 😂😂😂
Europes Anthem

Every now and then, humanity is blessed with a genius that pushes the limits of what we believe is possible.
Emozioni 🌹 intenso ❤
One of the greatest movies ever made
The funny part is that actually Beethoven conducted the orchestra during the première. He was looking forward to it. And he didn't care that he was completely deaf by then. But because of this deafness, he directed out of tempo and he conducted based on his imagination and the excitement he felt while conducting. The co-director and Beethoven's friend knew that the musicians would get confused and would not perform accordingly. So, he talked with the orchestra previously and all agreeded that they would follow his lead instead of Beethoven's. So, while Beethoven was conducting, the co-director was behind him conducting along him, far enough in order that the public didn't notice him, but near enough for the orchestra to see him and follow his lead. By the time the 9th symphony ended, Beethoven still was "conducting", so his friend touched his shoulder gently and turned him to the public who were clapping loudly and cheering. He felt so happy, because he was ashamed of his deafness and most of the time he preferred to be alone or secluded at his home to avoid letting people know he was deaf (only his friends, physician and family knew) and that made him grumpy, gruff and difficult to be with (he knew this and felt ashamed and sad that he couldn't be aproachable but he got frustated easily with his situation, even if he tried his best to control himself). By this time almost all people knew he was deaf, but feigned they didn't know, so Beethoven wouldn't feel ashamed or bad with himself as he was a very appreciated composer and admired because of his composition capacity through his deafness. He was a genius, even though he said he didn't feel as such and couldn't compare himself with Mozart, Haydn of Bach. He just said once that what he shared with musical genius was that he was a messy composer and a lazy correspondant😅
the lake moment is superb... i never forget it
This was my twin brother's favorite movie scene. He passed away a month ago. From a terribly abusive background, he made it on his own from age 18 and had a mission to spread joy and kindness. A brilliant man, a NCAA All American athlete, a PhD in economics and well known in economics and institutional finance, he recognized the utter brilliance of the Ode to Joy. He loved his family. He is at peace among the stars
@@mam1959mam i'm so sorry, you must be really proud of a brother like him.
Heavenly movie and my favourite scene of all time.
just to put in perspective… the theme is only composed of 6 notes…. absolutely insane.

Kaub?
I literally can’t watch this film without bawling my eyes out! I adore Beethoven’s music and the pain he went through to this day makes me so emotional xx
00:43 The guy with glasses is Franz Schubert and the couple is Emperor Francis I of Austria and his wife, Empress Carolina Augusta
No, that is not Schubert. That is Anton Schindler, his friend and biographer, who sensationalized many of his stories about his time with Ludwig that he has been proven to be too unreliable to be a credible source. Franz Schubert was inside the theatre at the premier in Vienna. However, he is not shown in the film.
the couple is his brother with his wife
This song will be one of the song I'll ask for in my death bed. I need my mind free to enter the next dimension ❤ no regrets or desire to stay just next level of consciousness
same
The premiere of 9th symphony would have been a spectacular event, when it happened 200 years ago! It's hard to watch this movie scene without bursting into tears, every single time. The scene takes the audience in, letting them feel Beethoven’s emotions and empathise with his state of mind.
Awesome scene
It was a big event as far as news could travel. Any aristocrat who was interested in music would’ve been talking about it within their inner circles and the premiere was a very well advertised event at the time.
God loves Beethoven....RIP Beethoven....
Un Genio irrepetible,Gary oldman increíble
You are Beethoven period
Hmmm....maybe I got it wrong. I was looking for a St. Bernard
Being a musician, I usually pick up my conductor wand and swing my arms in great joy to this masterpiece. My eye's always well up. How can it not be so? Also, I am half-deaf from meningitis since the age of three. But music has carried me spiritually through much of my 60-years.
Pure genius
Imagine being among the first to hear that.....
0:20 to 0:50 is unspeakably beautiful. Seemingly simple but utter genius how the 2 violin parts work together. Exquisite!
This exact spot is even cited in Riemanns book of music theory as an example of Beethoven's finest and most beautiful conterpoints .
6:10 Shit! Why am i crying?
Great scene: Suggesting how, he may have transcended childhood trauma (e.g. his drunk father beating him up), by connecting with The Universe through his music! Remarkable man.
Damnit there's something in my eye😢
Film making tribute to score. Brilliant. Chivery. Brrrr.
The Ode to Joy was a gift from Beethoven and the universe - proof that humanity has a glorious destiny. This magnificent film tapped into that energy.
YES WE DO!!!!
The Earth could be a smoking nuclear ruin in 50 years. It's proof of our potential, but it's far from certain.
Why destroy her!
you have to watch the film, it's really good and i will not spoiler it :)
Nobody talks about 3:42 enough. That bridge to the Ode to Joy was incredible!
Absolutely
YES. Sets it up so magnificently! And visualized so perfectly by Bernard Rose! Foreshadowed brilliantly by the monologue Beethoven gives earlier, "It is the power of music to carry one into the mental state of the composer..."
Great Film 😊
We know by now that ... (spoiler avoided) was most probably not the immortal beloved. But, I still love the way this film provide us with a very believable account how she could be the IM, combining it with an interpretation of how the maestro conceived and created the Ode to Joy. Now, about this scene... words are not enough as to express my admiration for it. I can say in a most certain way that no other biopic of his captured the emotions and triumph of the premier of the 9th Symphony as excellently as this one! The moment he turns around and sees the audience's reaction always brings me to tears!
In reality Beethoven left his entire estate to his estranged nephew
Wonder how much that ticket would have cost on Stub hub
Dios santo. Vi ésta escena incontables veces y no puedo evitar llorar cada vez que la veo.
It’s moments like this that make me wish I had a Time Machine. So I could go back and give Beethoven a Hearing Aid.
He had nerve damage, possibly caused by lead poisoning. It would not have helped.
@@GH-oi2jfexactly, his ears were fine, it was the auditory nerve which was damaged, even today it cannot be fixed
@@GH-oi2jf i though his hearing nerve was damaged, cause of the beating/ other diseases
He is probably the Person who has heard the only Perfect Version
Was Beethoven really influenced by running away from home to compose a piece of his music?
Not really, that was only made up by the screenwriters, because it made a good dramatic scene.
