Breast Cancer Journey of Healthy 33 Year Old
Добавлен 17 дек 2021
Hello World!
This channel is meant to take you on my journey through my breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. I am a 33 year old healthy orthodontist who is married to my high school sweetheart (Justin). I was diagnosed w/ breast cancer on 11/9/21. The treatment for me was double mastectomy with breast reconstruction followed by 12 weeks of chemotherapy. I also have to undergo fertility preservation (IVF) since I don't have any children and genetic testing to see if I'm at risk for developing any other cancers.
I want to share my story with the world b/c it is so rare for someone so young and healthy to receive this diagnosis and I want to make myself available to anyone out there who may be facing this same situation one day. This is really scary and hopefully my journey will help provide peace of mind to anyone else out there who may be facing the same thing.

7 Days Post-Chemo Session #4 w/ Taxotere & Cytoxan
Last night it took forever to fall asleep and I was also dealing with bubble guts again. Side effects today: bubble guts, slight dry mouth, taste aversion.
Today I worked out - 20 minutes of cardio and an upper body lift.
I also went to get a pedicure and I got my lashes filled. Now that I’m done with chemo, I feel like I needed some self care. I also scheduled a massage for this coming weekend as well which I am super excited for b/c I haven’t had a massage since before my double mastectomy. Like I mentioned yesterday, I’m feeling exhausted mentally, physically & emotionally so I’m hoping some self care will help.

Hi, I’m on day 2 now. I also do not have any sensation or feeling in my chest- did this come back for you?
@@freebird4867 hey there! Not entirely. It’s been almost 3 years and still don’t have sensation in the skin over some areas of my breast. I have sensation in some areas but not others so it’s in patches lol. How are you feeling dear??!! Keep fighting girl!!

Did this loving doctor tell you about changing your diet and getting rid of sugar could have changed your life. But having breasts removed was absolutely not necessary! There are so many alternative therapies that cure cancer it’s unbelievable like they’re now finding that ivermectin and award-winning Nobel prize winning drug is showing remarkable results in almost everybody Who’s taking it It’s getting rid of their cancer and the changing of the diet and fasting absolutely totally works even in stage four cancer.
Hi Colby, I live in South Africa. The sun is always shining here and there is always the risk of developing skin cancer if you have a light skin. I developed a growth on the lower eye lid of my right eye. I do not know if it is cancer or just a benign growth but I went on a high nutrition diet for about two months and the growth have shrunk noticeably. I would like to share the diet with you. The soup Ingredients: - two handfuls of Chopped broccoli, one chopped onion (purple), two bags of green tea, two pinches of mixed herbs, two sticks of cut celery, Two handfuls of frozen and crushed spinach or kale, half a table spoon of crushed garlic, Three shakes of black pepper, seven shakes of turmeric, two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one bag of white onion powder soup for flavour, a hand full of cooked red speckled beans and a handful of cooked mince meat. Just add all the ingredients in a pot, add boiling water and switch the stove on high till the water boils. Then lower the heat until the water simmer, Let the soup simmer for an hour. The soup is now ready. I would only drink water in the morning. At 12h00 I would start eating the soup. There will be about two helpings that you can eat in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. I also ate a fruit salad every day in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. (Note: Apparently turmeric reduces the effect of some chemotherapy drugs and thus should not be taken during chemotherapy.) During the rest of the week I would also eat food that contains vitamin D like avocado’s, mushrooms, liver and eggs in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. It seems to be working for me, maybe it will also work for you. I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that the cancer will not return. Amen. I would also like to share the following seven videos with you about salvation and two videos about evolution: Evolution vs. God ruclips.net/video/uc_W9VtzJ0A/видео.html DESTROYING Evolution In Under 3 Minutes ruclips.net/video/sWecPwrQv2c/видео.html Watch the Holy Spirit Work in Her Heart (Very Moving) ruclips.net/video/iBEoI2u6kII/видео.html Fearing The Lord, God’s Discipline & Sharing The Gospel ruclips.net/video/dES5WW66Mro/видео.html A Clear Gospel Presentation by Pastor Steven Anderson - How to go to Heaven ruclips.net/video/IXEeMWCxyrQ/видео.html The Plan of Salvation ruclips.net/video/PmkhRMPvt_0/видео.html How to Get Saved ruclips.net/video/ajWdkuvrT6s/видео.html The Truth About Hell (Selected Scriptures) ruclips.net/video/AVzbh_dLq3s/видео.html What is The Gospel of Jesus Christ? Congratulations on my last treatment! I just had my first Taxotere/Cytoxan last Thursday. So far, I've had the same issues with digestion and dry mouth, but the worst for me was the bone pain from my wbc booster. I took the Claritin as advised, but still had a tough time with it, so maybe I'll start it sooner. Again, I'm so glad you are done with this part and will continue to keep you in my prayers!
Thank you!! I’m sorry you had a rough bout of bone pain. Keep taking the Claritin everyday until you’re completely done with chemo. It needs a week or 2 to get into your system to really be effective so just keep taking it. Praying that helps for next time. How are you feeling? It’s been 1 weeks since your session. Do you feel back to normal?
I started feeling back to myself the Weds after treatment..other that the bathroom trips, but had a lot more energy. Sat-Tues following treatment was tough and I felt drained, but stayed at work a little more each day. Weds, I was finally able to make it the whole day. I'm a nurse manager (usually very active in helping staff with patient care intermittently) and my oncologist was fine with me returning as long as I stayed to office duties and away from patients, so im grateful I'm able to do that.

Hey! I’m glad you’re finishing your chemo. My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. It’s tnbc, but they caught it stage one. She had a mastectomy on her affected (remaining/real) breast last month and should start chemo in a couple weeks. She did get genetic testing done this time and unfortunately is positive for the brca1 mutation.
I will be praying for your mom 🙏🏻 have you been tested for BRCA yet? I know several women who have had a double mastectomy to prevent/reduce their chance of getting breast cancer b/c they tested positive for BRCA. Idk how expensive the genetic testing is b/c my insurance covered it but if it’s too expensive you can always take the 23 & me with health screening b/c that tests for BRCA 1 & 2. I did it for the family history & that’s how I knew I didn’t have BRCA when I ended up getting diagnosed w/ BC. 💕

@@breastcancerjourney.dr_colburt How sweet of you to ask, thank you! ❤ It wasn't as bad as I feared. Basically just pretended I was on a massage table or something. 😅 And they let me listen to rock radio from the headphones (though it was faint under all the noice, it really helped to consentrate on that.) I can’t imagine going through this without Jesus! Anyway, I hope you are ok and can give an update to how you are doing soon. God bless you!
Hey there! Thank you for reaching out. I am so glad that you have found my videos helpful. I am doing really well post-treatment. I am still on the hormone blockers though but I can go off those in June of this year and my husband and I want to try to have a baby or babies. We shall see what the future holds. How are you doing after your surgery??
I’m really happy to hear you’re doing well! That is encouraging! A baby would be wonderful after all you (and your husband) have been through! I’m doing well and still healing. I will find out this week when I am scheduled to have my port put in and when my four rounds of chemo will start. Like you, I will be getting treatments of Taxotere and Cytoxan for three months. I just want to get it over with! Anyway, thanks for your reply and I really am happy for you! Also, I enjoyed your dental tips and scripture readings at the end of your videos 👍😊
@@SkeletonCreekVids thank you so much! I completely understand about to get started w/ chemo to get it over with. I was in the same boat. I actually got seated 1 week b/c an ice storm shut down the city for a week 😵💫 you will get thru this for sure!! Do you need any radiation?
Hi I love your videos .. how are you doing ?
Thank you! I’m doing really. I actually competed in 2 body building shows a couple of months ago so that was fun!! I got a pet scan last month & I’m meeting with my oncologist tomorrow to go over the results. How are you doing??
Your videos are a source of so much inspiration. The fact that you pray is a beautiful bonus. THANK YOU FOR SHARING! I am 35, currently 8 weeks pregnant, prepping for a mastectomy on Monday and I feel the fear trying to take over as the day approaches. Cheers 🎉
I will keep you in my prayers. God will see you thru this. I was so terrified before my surgery but now that I’m on the other side of it, I can tell you that I have so much peace about my decision to do the double mastectomy. And I really love my reconstructed boobs 💕 please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything. You got this sister!! 💪🏻
@@breastcancerjourney.dr_colburt you’re fantastic! Thank you so much!! You’re an inspiration! ❤️🎄 Merry Christmas!
Please pray for me. I am having double lumpectomy and lift Nov. 14. I just pray I made the right choice. I wanted double mastectomy, but my doctors pushed for lumpectomy.
Praying for you love. At the end of the day, the decision is yours, not your doctors. So you have every right to change your mind before surgery day. They can’t force you to have the procedure if you don’t want it. I pray the Lord guides you to what His will is for you regarding your surgical options and that he will give you peace & comfort about what He says. 💕🙏🏻
@wanderlust2053 how did your surgery go? How are you doing?
Thank you so much for documenting this. Your videos have provided so much comfort and the way you’ve shared your journey is done with so much positivity. I’m preparing for a direct to implant on Monday, September 18th and your videos have been the most helpful as I workout a lot too. I pray you’ve continued to have a successful journey! Thank you again! ❤
Thank you so much!! Everything has been going really well for me. I had my reconstruction & that went great! I’ll be posting those videos soon. You are going to do great!! Just remember to rest so your body can heal & hydrate! Sending prayers for you 💕
@@breastcancerjourney.dr_colburt thank you so much! Im so happy to hear that your reconstruction went well! As you know, it’s such a journey, but I believe I’m in the acceptance stage of my journey and know that God has placed me here for a reason and to be a light for others going through this just as you are. Im looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos!! Question, have you been able to regain feeling in your breasts and arms?
I have my double m tomorrow. I watched your day of video. I have said a prayer for your healing. Thank you for your posts …. ❤
Thank you! How are you doing after your surgery?? Sending positive vibes and prayers your way 💕
@@breastcancerjourney.dr_colburt i had it yesterday. Am home now recovering. Everything went well. They took both and will send to pathology. Also some lymph nodes. Hope all comes back with good news. Thanks.
@@breastcancerjourney.dr_colburt Now day5. Walking, pain is manageable. Feel sorry for my family. They have to do so much for me. Is so strange to rely on others. Thanks for asking. I think my spirits are up most of the time. ❤️
I just had my first TC infusion yesterday and I have been feeling fine so far! Thanks for the videos you uploaded! It really helps to ease my mind to know what might be happening to me down in the road during this chemo journey. Since you stop video taping after 7th day after the infusion. Just curious, did you have bad side effects after 7th days or you started feeling like yourself again? ❤ thanks for sharing again!
Excellent question. I started feeling back to my normal self after day 7 each session. Just a few rough days the days after each session then back to normal - praise the Lord! How are you doing?
❤️❤️❤️ Thank you
You’re welcome!!
