Welcome guys to another video. Today I am just showing you how traditional homesteads look like. A Luo home demonstrates order and power at home. The most important structures in a Luo home are:
1. Mikayi's house - this is the house of the first wife which is usually slightly at the top showing authority over and above other women.
2. Simba - the house of the boys in the homestead. It's always at the lower end towards the main entrance. The boys acts like guards or lions (simba) protecting the home from intrusion.
3. Dero - is a granary where we keep our harvest. Right now people have the store inside the main house.
4. Duol - is the man's office for managing the affairs of the family.
