These are super informative great examples and explanations, im doing a jango build and i was away from the prop and cosplay scene for awhile and when I came back i noticed everything is 3d printed now, so i only have a cold cast helmet and trying to get cold cast armor and gauntlets is expensive cause most the makers who still do them are in the UK and the 3d printed route is alot cheaper so I was researching paint for the armor to match the cold cast helmet.

Awesome! Try using pressure paint to spay very thin layer of resin over 3d printed part to avoid big clump? Maybe a basic gardening hand pump sprayer could work? Keep up with good content! :D

Some critique: using a chip brush, only a 50 cents or so, to paint your weathering. The ragged bristles will give your parts look of scratches as well. Also, you might use an oribital sander on the big parts with a higher abrasive pad. It'll save you a lot of time sanding. Very nice video and artwork!

Mandomerc helm Back plates are such a pain to clean up in FDM, I just resin print them. Pretty much anything with fine detail or hard to access recesses i will try to resin print if i can. About a 80/20 mix of fast cure and tenacious.

crazy that you handle resin bare handed.. most people that touch it once will get instant allergies to it, and it just take a droplet

Don't get uncured resin on your skin.

Noticed its just as low on the DeathWatch ones as well. But rip needing to fix two things on what was coming out so beautifully.

What causes that gap/crack in the dome portion? Happened to my Mandalorian helmet in the same spots. Thought it was because I did a filament change to a low quality filament

isopropyl alcohol will make hot glue lose it's adhesion, without risk of burning wires.

I'm just finishing printing the the scout trooper helmet and armour. It's also my favourite starwars outfit. I'm looking forward to getting it all smoothed and painted.

8:44 Duh faq?! NAH! 70?! 70!? The speed was pushing it, but 70?! That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen! I'm going to have to go into research a bit more since I have a Kobra 2 max. For some reason, 4.6 just can't go any higher than 300mm per second. I may have to do a huge upgrade just to use the recent version of Cura or just use a different slicer.

Alclad is still available (think it’s called Alcoad II now though). The original manufacture (Robert Bunn) now makes it under his own label of H&R Hobbies 👍🏼 he also does the metallic/metal paints for MIG AMMO under their A-Stand range. Hope that’s of use to you.

At some point your no longer sanding but polishing.

I think it's really great that you do tutorials like this. I also sometimes have problems with the filler to get everything smooth. Do you have a link to where I can buy the paste?

Great news same issue happend to me 2 days ago wainting for a response from Elegoo..emailed them yesterday no response yet and they have no main boards in stock for UK so that's not looking good.

I find it funny, building star wars helmets saved your life, but turning resin into an aerosol is gonna kill ya bro. Been tested thousands of times, even with a good mask, turning UV resin in to aerosol is very toxic. It stays in the air, it gets all over your clothes and skin. Even in a full paint booth it covers everything and you breath it into your lungs just doing day to day stuff. Go back to brushing it on. Its far less toxic, and safer.
