I run 2 2000 watt predators in parallel because I needed them small enough I can load them in a truck by myself. I’ve had them close to 10 years and use them 40 to 50 hours a year camping and they have been trouble free. Only thing is the exhaust isn’t as clean as a Honda. You get a hint of oil burning but it’s not to bad. Predator is still a value generator but like everything else they have about doubled in price in 10 years.

Bought my Predator 9000 six years ago and it works like a new one.. It has been garage kept and Usually in a tool truck otherwise. I am a contractor. I have ZERO complaints about the predator 9000. I can run a compressor.. a saw station.. chargers.. radios.. lights.. mixers.. on any jobsite anywhere power or not.. Second Greatest investment I ever made as far as equipment. It has been used in two storms.. not sure how many hours is on it but, I don't expect to need a new one any time soon. Starts first pull.. which I never used for the first five years. Self starting is a great feature.. and mine is on wheels.. It's been slammed a few times.. and got a few dents in the guard frame now but, other than that it looks new.. it has outlasted many electric power tools so far.. You can deflect the sound with a sheet of plywood too.. When you know.. YOU KNOW 😉

My grandmothers '70and Nova (230c.u.) was carboned up so bad you could shut it off at idle and it would continue running dieseling. I figured out this method by removing the air cleaner and getting a long piece of vacuum hose to put in a bucket of water connecting the hose to the air cleaner port. I started the car, set it up on fast idle and then put the hose into the water. The motor bogged down at first blowing white smoke, then the smoke turned black with a cloud about 20 feet in diameter blow out the tail pipe for a minute or so then back to white. At that time, I removed the hose from the water and let the engine clear out, reducing the fast idle. Let it run for a few more minutes and after that it ran PERFECT! Never had a problem after that.

do not do this with ethonal gas DONT DO water will speatate the ethonal from gas and can cuase huge probems , now if was pur gas would work on newer cars be interesting to find out but there far simple way keep mind wont work with all synthic oil mix oil yes gas yes, one oz assaton in gas tank on oz in oil , now many people ask why hell why this not additve it binds to oil and gas on attomic lev, why it is removed at the refinery , out the oil then also it also remove out gas if any is left, it called crakeing, i ran servers at refinery so i got talk to all top dogs, it removed as it reduces emmisions if u keep useing it, now some you old tex guys might even know of this as well , now it will not hurt any parts one it is so little and two dont add more then this , to much wont help, and i bet in first few mins will ideal much better, so how many more of u know of this ?

After Katrina, we were out of power for 10 days and left Biloxi MS drove to Lafayette LA just to find gas. People are crazy.

Everybody flipping out makes no sense man. Smart folks done got gas before the hurricane hit lol. If you own one those little 2 stroke generators are great for running the little things plus they run forever on a single tank. Heres a tip- If you take the spark arrestor off and turn the idle screw up it'll really provide power to alot of things. Stay safe.
@@buckieharrison7176 I agree. I think people are rushing out for generator gas but I’m not gonna loose my mind over it. I’ve got a grill and I’ll cook every damn thing in this fridge before I fight over a gallon of gas. We are in a hard hit area I understand that. But it’s been one day. People panic way too easily now.

I would rather spray a mist of water than pour liquid down .
Truckers call that method "floating gears." Basically let off the throttle on the up shift. Wait a fraction of the a second for the RPMS to lower and it goes in the next gear smooth as butter every time.

The thing is different piston material expands at different rates..total seal doesn't compensate for that on there charts..Forged pistons expand alot more than cast or hypereutectic and therefore you need to allow more clearance for the rings.Lake speed so far has not mentioned how much extra to allow for forged.There is a science to it and if you take too much off the rings ypu end up with an oil user..but at the same time if you don't take enough off then your going to break rings and ring lands which will destroy your cylinder wall.
All very true. This was a “basic idea” of how to do it for people that have never done it. Kinda. A introduction to ring gap to help people have a understanding of the idea of the why and how

That would be awesome. A sweet looking caddy then pop a nasty engine in it and a 4 speed. That would grab some attention

I honestly don’t know. If you read some of the comments they are people that say it will hurt cats and they are people that say they do it with no issue. But I have no information either way I’ve never tried it on a modern car

Clean the battery terminals with urination whilst one hand touching the alternator
Small amount of water down the intake or into a vacuum line. Saved you 15 minutes.
This is all well and good but I don't own a carburetor vehicle. I got 4.3 vortecs in s-10s and they are terrible for having carbon buildup. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Try it on an other car that has carbon.
45, been working on cars since I was 13. I figured this trick out on my own after rebuilding a few engines with blown head gaskets, the ones that had water infiltration were practically perfect, the cylinders, the rings, the valves, guides, exhaust ports, whole thing was as clean as the day it was built. Makes a hell of a difference.

Ok, you may say, think, dry hops are COOL, but all it does is hurt your driveline, and now, u just took the BEST hit off ur tires.....Stock Eliminator 101, do ur burnout, stage, launch.....dry hops were needed in the early 70's cuz tire technology was poor, now, and since the late 80's, burnout, stage, launch.....ur BEST oppurtunity to get ur BEST 60' is done as I said....any dry hop, just ruined ur best grip at the launch, and hurt driveline......I LOVE ur chanel, and am a sub'r, but dry hops are very foolish, if u want to get ur best ET..... FACT, not tom, dick, and Harry talkin.......stock eliminator 101......NO DRY HOPS, unless, ur tryin to be cool, but ur ET will suffer....FACT!!....PEACE my brother......still love what ya do!!
@@TimothyArnott-m7z no sir dry hops are as old as drag racing. It pre dates electronics and serves a very important purpose. You find the rpm the track can take. And as a guy who has done dry hops ever since I started racing I can tell you for a fact they will not hurt anything unless you do something wrong as the driver Since me ( and most of the guys I race with ) don’t use modern technology in our cars the dry hop is very important, and my ET has never suffered in any way. I’m fact the 60’ is much more consistent

Sorry about your friend. Being burned out is vastly different than neglect or indifference. Burned out just means you put in everything you had and you need a recharge.

So sorry to hear about your friend Melvin i feel your pain we had an ole boy like that up here .Charlie by day english teacher every other minute he was awake he was building something mostly pulling trucks and tractors but I don't care who you were he'd drop what he was doing to help anyone .he truly was an mechanical engineer. Then he took I'll and left us way too soon..watching this video seeing how much he and that car meant to you and my memories makes me realize we're the ole boys that's got to keep these old power houses going and keeping the younger folks interested or this is going to fade away too..God bless you good luck and chin up
