This dang 2 year project is finally runnin’ again. I learned so much in the process. Removed and rebuilt the entire engine myself. Repainted it completely myself. Thankfully had help reinstalling the engine in, but tuning myself. It’s a project it’ll never be done (still got an exhaust leak) but it’s my car and it’s finally alive. (Here’s a funny few peaks of the process)

Much enjoyed your video. Happy to see younger fellas rebuilding their motors and getting their hands dirty. I am about to rebuild my 305 as well and wanted to see what size of hone you are using. Last time I used one it was on my 396 for my race car (Back in the day) and did it the same way you did except I wasn't real concerned with starting the hone in the cylinder so I didn't sling oil. Just wanted to say, really enjoyed your video, good instruction and funny too. You have a new sub. John

So I would find a junkyard with just the minimum parts you need. It'll be cheap and get you back on the road, do a little but of trial and error as well with saving old parts. Good luck and respond with anymore questions and I can get into contact!

get some plastigage and measaure the play of the bearings before putting it togheter. i guess the 400 grit paper didnt take away that much material but id still check it.

I have my RT100 taken apart right now as well. It was a $200 craigslist find. I split the case because It wasn't properly cycling through all the gears and found water, rust and dirt inside the engine and transmission. I purchased all new bearings, seals, gaskets and a piston. I just finished scrubbing and cleaning every part down. Still need to put it back together, so fingers crossed! Great video by the way.

Thank you! Good luck with your build! They are fun bikes when they run good to cruise around. If you need a diagram of anything I just used bikebandit to find anything, have fun with it!

That's what I've heard, that they were dun bikes. I just posted a video of the build on my other channel (Rocky Mountain Rider) if you are curious to see the build video. Progress videos are forthcoming as I get more parts in. Should be a fun build.
