Sportsman 500 and Kodiac 450 riding Lingham Lake Atv Trail
Ya there are so many amazing places and riders posts it's hard to grasp it all. I wished I was patient enough to spend countless hours editing but it's not my thing . Thanks for commenting.
Enjoyed your video, old Colorado timer here, started riding in '61, my first 'motorcycle' trip was that year on a Cushman Eagle scooter over Trail Ridge Road with my best friend at the age of 14. It was a joy riding Colorado, Utah and the rest of the West for 45 years, haven't ridden for 15 years now but have been enjoying the likes of ItchyBoots, Pedro Mota, and Charly Sinewan on YT the last 5 years, amazing the places they've taken me... Thanks for posting
i just got a 2004 polaris 500 sportsman ive never own a polaris befor just big baers so wounding if polaris r good atv or not and how u like urs and do they have good 4x4 in them that dont let u down when u need it and in ur apinion whats the better all around bike the polais sportsman or the kodiak
Well I will say firstly I loved my 2013 Sportsman 500 HO. I put 2500 miles (4000 kms) on it with not one issue. I traded it in after 2 years and bought a Suzuki King quad 500 with power steering. The only reason I bought a different quad was I wanted to have full time 4 wheel drive not the on demand of the Polaris. I rode alot of snow covered roads/trails and the on demand just didn't work well. The only way you get full time 4 wheel drive on Polaris is if there is slippage in the rear wheels which forces you to spin the back wheel causing the fronts to kick in. Problem is once you stop spinning the front disengages and quad is sliding around again. When closing the throttle and engine braking kicked in the back wheels would slide with no front wheel braking unless you applied the front brakes at the same time. On Yamaha and Suzuki when in full time 4 wheel drive there is always at least 1 front wheel providing traction and braking so much more control when riding aggressive. That being said it is nice to leave the Polaris in 4 wheel drive mode and just having the rear wheels turning until you need4 wheel drive. No stopping to engage 4 wheel drive or the differential lock found on Suzuki or Yamaha. I know some say you can shift into 4 wheel drive on the fly with Suzuki but the manual says to stop first. Anyway, other than that I liked my Polaris better overall. The ride was way smoother and my Polaris engine was also smoother and more powerful. The fan came on much more frequently on the Polaris but I know that Suzuki advertises a high capacity radiator which seems to work better when really warm out. I know your machine is older so not sure about reliability but I think you cant go wrong with either Polaris, Suzuki or Yamaha. My friend has a 2011 Kodiac and my brother a 2008 Kodiac which he uses for plowing snow. It has done some serious work for 11 years and his Kodiac hasn't been touched and works perfectly. I cant speak to Can Am as dont know anyone who rides one.
@@richweinert7324 kk ty for ur input i got good deal on this bike thats only reason i bought it i got it for 1500 only had to put waterp[mp seal in it everything else is a1 on it and has 1800 miles on it the trails i ride have lots of mud on them and water holes and rutts so was just woundering how it would work in them couldions if im going spend most my time witnching my self out or if the 4x4 well work good and just walk thew stuff like that
@@philasselstine7816 The Sportsman will work great in those conditions. I loved mine in everything but snow covered trails. Enjoy your quad
kk ty so much for ur input this trail in cloyne is it on the main road comeing from keldar or on a side road would nt mind checking it out some time @@richweinert7324
@@philasselstine7816 it isn't a well used trail, it connects some hunting camps on Crown Land. Where are you located?
Where was that rim that you were riding next to? So awesome!
It was on the White Rim Road in Canyonlands NP.
What an amazing VIEW!!!! I can't wait to ride in Moab! I've ridden around Zion and I absolutely love it!
Great trails. We ride in the same area but I didn't recognize the first 6 or 7 minutes. These are the best trails around.
They are for sure. I found a bunch of new trails that were excellent, but didn't have my gopro. If you are interested you would be more than welcome to come along.
where is this ? in relation to Kingston Ontario ?
Most of the trails were off of Skootamatta Lake Rd, west of Bon Echo Park.
Rich Weinert ohh , so cloyne area .. im from belleville and am planning to get a trail pass for the EOTA , but ill have to look for trails like these too haha
We are lucky to have such great trails so close. I Wil be riding a fair bit in the area this spring and will post the trails with a brief description. Kind of new to this gopro stuff but at least it gives an idea of the terrain I ride in. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. .
Another nice video Rich. Looks a bit damp up there. There is a guy that posts a lot of good videos of the area if you search "My17A". Seems to be endless trails there but GPS is essential. You guys handled the water very well.
Nice video Rich. Classic bridge at 13:00. You guys are a fair bit West. I'm near Kingston but those trails look like some we have around here. Anyhow, thanks for taking us along for the ride.
wher in kingston do u get on the trail im in amherstview and ther no atv trails here at all just ski doo trails and atv not aload on them so im looking for a place too ride trails thats close too me that dont have 10 feet deep rutts
That looks like a nice ride, We seasonal camp at Marble Lake and wondering where on Skootamatta Lake road this trail starts
We started on the West end of Skootamatta Lake Rd. It is marked as a forest access rd going South. It would be difficult to follow trail without a gps track.
Rich Weinert I have a Garmin GPSMap62s, if you would like to share the track I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks, Pat
BCNU100 If you don't have the track then the coordinates for the start and finish would be good also, thanks again
If you have a Google + account I believe I can send you the track via private message or I will need an email address
I am doing a 2 day ride this weekend so will post a video. It will go north of Skootamatta towards Bancroft. Hopefully not too much snow
