1st time ever.... Assessment hearing conducted in Courtroom when they typically are heard in a conference room. Small Claims Assessment review hearings are run by the state Unified Court System They are informal hearings. You typically are not sword in, the hearing officer typically is not a judge or a lawyer. Yet when I insist the hearing be video recorded, they decide to have it in a courtroo...

I took the time and money it takes to make this a reliable and safe airplane so you dont have to. I bought it as a trainer and it has served its purpose beautifully. I replaced and upgraded everything that needed to be replaced and upgraded. It is in fantastic condition, with fully modernized avionics. Total Time on Airframe: Less than ~3,200 hours. I fly it regularly so subject to change. Time...

Well done but you cut that very short for safety. As a CFI I'd have recommended some power to extend the glide and try again. It's better to pic an aiming point further down the runway for safety. The 1,000' markers are good, or at least the end of the second stripe.
Half the people that “comment” on these videos have never even been in a plane, let alone are pilots. Lol.
Chique
A golf glove ???
Any way I could use this for a mini doc I’m making?
Beautifull aircraft. 😊
Did the addition of VGs have noticeable performance gains? I've been considering them for my Colt.
You missed, your dead! Stop aiming for the end of the runway, you waisted 3,000 feet!
thanks Sully.
you are welcome, maybe it will save your life one day @@user-wj9jm9ho2q
He would not have been killed, but could have harmed the approach lights or the plane. In any event, I agree with you. Much too short. Even a maximum performance off airport bush landing allows a greater margin for safety.
In 1967, I bought a share of a Piper Colt based at Ried Hillview airport, California. Age 19, I learned to fly with it and then graduated to more powerful Cesssna 150. We used to call it the “flying rock.“
id take a colt over a 150 any day. significantly more useful load, better leg room. i would not consider a 150 more powerful. about the same. if you dont have the useful load you'd better be pretty light weight in a 150 and your passenger. two sizable guys and you are over weight. colt has about 120lbs more useful load than a 150. it does drop.... but not an issue to me. .
125lbs more useful load
Keep the ball in the center.
I learned to fly in a Colt. My instructor was a retired carrier pilot. He taught me to always do this type of landing.
Thank you for sharing. Always wanted a Piper Colt since I was a teenager after reading a Pilot report in Plane and Pilot. I grew up in South Africa, now live in North East England.
Did you sell it ? How much did you sell it for ? Very nice example of a Piper Colt !!! Hope you got a good price for it ............. Mark in Memphis,Tennessee
Needs to be extended to a tail dragger with float fixtures, nice long PA18 wings with flaps and a 180hp engine. Just like the PA14 family cruiser.
Nice job on the practice PO landing. Those “Short Wing” pipers sink quick unlike a Cessna!
Nice Pioneer 520. I totally lmao with the "270 and 400 lbs" comment. That was just funny...and probably exceeded the little machine anyway. haha
Honda really is going down the right road with how these are built… there built tough.. but cheap AF… like a toyota… but there priced like there built like a tank… they are not.
It's a Honda the best 👌 👍
Eh just find some kinda flip up folding seat to throw in the dump bed, and there ya go a 3rd person.
Do you still have the 520? How's it going?
Yes. And I'd be willing to sell it as I no longer have land to drive it on. I only have 26 hours on it.
Do you still want to sell it?@@user-wj9jm9ho2q
I soloed in one of those at Akron Airport in 63 or 64 (?) after 3 hrs and 45 minutes of dual instruction. Good thing they are easy to fly. Thanks for the memories.
Looks 👀 a little like Sodus Point, NY! Or nearby! 😊
I made a roof from my traction boards, used U clamps to attach them to the roll cage.
GOOD IDEA.
Learn to fly in the 70s , I purchased a Colt instead of renting an aircraft.... Good Little Aircraft..... Lots of memories with Colt 76Z
Have you had any exhaust trouble? I have a 2022 p520 and have had to replace the exhaust 3 times due to cracked welds.
no, but i only have 26 hours
The only reason they put "dump" bed on was to be able to service engine!!!
and to empty the beer cans
I love mine. I don’t know why people complain about the stock tires they do great in the greasy mud. You are right it goes places I thought for sure I would get stuck but I haven’t been stuck yet. I did mount a winch to the front, all aftermarket but it was a lot cheaper then the Honda winch kit. I use it a lot where I live then about once or twice a month I trailer to the trails it does greAt.
I like the stock tires other than being a little short. I have road several hundred miles on the Hatfield and Mccoy trails with no trouble on the stock tires.
How big is your trailer?
10'
Nice! And I see you are in NY as well. Ever take this to Tall Pines or any other atv park? How is the 1 yr review?
Ill keep tall pines in mind. Never been. Its a great machine.
ruclips.net/video/p6QgaqwAWt8/видео.html Nice and good outcome !
Boo what oil?????
Two years went by and I still did not receive all the parts for the first module. They had my money.... but I did not get all the parts so that I could complete a module. I liked the plane as theoretically it had a superior useful load compared to the Searey and was significantly cheaper ........ the plane had a long history..... but there appears to have been significant management change due to two of the management team being killed in a crash at Sun n Fun a year or so before I got involved in this. I was unaware of this at the time. I paid about $14,000 for the first three modules and never received all the parts. He strung me along and sent me a couple parts here and there to appease me and my guess is to buy time. I eventually confronted him and was able to get $10,000 returned. I felt fortunate to get that and absorb a lesson learned. I bought a Piper Colt which worked out great. And now I am renovating a 20 year old Quad City Challenger II. See www.2001Challenger2.com I also have a youtube channel for it 2001challenger2 . Id be happy to relay the whole story if you want to contact me. Bottom line? Buyer beware. Be careful who to trust your time, money and your life with. Learn from the mistakes of others.
Did you quit on this or what? You showed the first step parts and nothing in 4 years!
Súper awesome video thank you so much for sharing
I didn't hear him clear the engine....
That was close enough!
Umm.....Umm.... Umm.... AAA.... Umm...
Shortcoming of Pipers. One door. Crawling into the left seat. I'm 6'4". Like a Giraffe in a baby buggy !
How many doors do you typically enter? If you are 6'4" you'll never fit in a Cessna 150. Your knees will be pinned to dash... head on ceiling. And unless you are one scrawny 6'4" you'll have issues with useful load. This Colt is easier to enter than a Cessna 172. A 172 seat is very forward and a pain to enter. Normally id have an issue with a one door airplane... but if you needed to get out of a Colt in an emergency on the non door side you could quite readily. Know what you are talking about before spewing nonsense. Leg room in a Colt is superior to Cessna 150. Same with headroom. Shoulder room is about the same. .....A little tight. Perhaps a lot tight. Useful load 75lb to 85lb greater n Colt. Colt holds more fuel.... more classic looking. Another troll spewing nonsense.
Wow. Sensitive are we?
I am not a troll, and, I am not spewing nonsense. I've been flying 172's and Cardinal RG's for 26 years. I've detailed dozens of private aircraft for Arizona Wing Waxers, too many types and manufacturers to list. I've been inside, outside, on top, and under. Why can't I express my opinion ?
No mamesss clasico gringo gay
Try windsheer in a sailplane , lots more fast breathing !!
No chance for a go around.
great to see someone else wearing a golf glove on the steering hand. i thought i looked silly with it, but it made summer flight school in TX much more comfortable than the death grip necessary with a smooth plastic yoke and a sweaty left hand...
You can take a lot of approach speed out of that final!
I had that happen to me on short final. Scary
You playing golf or flying? What?
When it is hot out.... and it is turbulent...it can be difficult maintaining your grip.
He's a calm cool dude. I was too dumb to be scared. But ill tell ya.... i had no need for coffee after that. Id fly with him anytime.
Very nice job. No sign of panic.
Beautiful bird, you did a great job keeping her. Many fond memories in the Colt. First airplane ride in one at age 11, first solo in same Colt in 1967 at age 16. Private check ride at age 17. First (and only) plane owned was a Colt. Hope whoever gets her takes good care of her.
What is the main difference in the Tri-Pacer and the Colt?
Tripacer has back seat and bigger motor and flaps. Colt burns 6 gal per hour tripacer about 8 depending. tripacer can be 135hp or 150hp. Colt is 108 HP. Tripacer is a littler faster cruise colt 75% power is 108 mph... tripacer probably 10 mph more. Very similar other-wise. Tripacer useful load effectively makes it a 3 seater though it has 4 seats.
Some TriPacers have 160hp
We’re you slipping to get her down?
no. i was attempting a power off short field landing and misjudged and had to add power to make it. i felt under control... but should not have played with the end of the runway as i did in retrospect. but was good short field for that airplane. ill not do that again.
i was focused on making that first exit. that was a bad idea. ill not do that again.
You never need to slip a Colt, just pull the power, she’ll come down
@@ravenswaal my observation in flying a colt is this..... its 60 years old... if you are in the pattern always stay in gliding distance...just in case.... good idea in any old plane... if in a short field situation....and you know it is running well.. trim back and tractor in just above stall .... pull power when you need to to put it where you need to be and as you say....it will come down..... but be careful and ready to trim forward if you need to go around. Colts are good at coming down. They don't stall....they drop. I love my Colt.
Head camera makes you sick.
