I am a diy kinda guy, I enjoy building things myself, I particularly enjoy building cool off-road vehicles in my shop at home which we then take them out and rip the snot out of them, and we film the process along the way so others can learn from our experiences and mistakes and and be entertained.
I also like to see others get in the shop and build their own toys so if I can help answer questions I will try to help anyone that reaches out.
My son Branden is a photographer and is the one behind the cinematography in the videos. I just drive the buggy and he makes it entertaining.

The Harbor Freight mini lathe died so we replaced it with a New Grizzly G0602 10"x22" metal lathe

Cool idea..simple and effective
I am looking to build a jack shaft for my buggy with a gsxr750 engine, I have found a 1-3/8 -6 spline PTO shaft and a 1-3/8- 21 spline PTO shaft but i do not trust the 21 spline holding up. I am afraid the hubs would easily cam over the small splines and strip them off ive had it done on handed steel atv axles several times with tight fitting hubs. Do you think i should use the 6 spline PTO shaft instead as the splines on them are taller their for would be harder for the hub to cam over the splines. Have you any bad luck running 21 spline shafts or do you use them?
Why were you trying to use a model makers lathe on those parts,are you going to try to machine some d8 cat parts on the new one?

Damn, nice work...truly impressive guys, and you're absolutely right...it DOES rip. With more and more of these big displacement rigs being built, how do you differentiate between go kart, dune buggy, and sand rail? because if I was asked to describe that machine i'd say it was closer to an offroad buggy than a go kart...but thats just me.lol
Thank you for the compliments! We refer to it as a mini buggy or mini dune buggy! It’s about the same dimensions as a Polaris RS1 which even though it’s a single seater it’s still considered a SxS.
cool Idea, at first the bolts on those collars seem so small, however similar to U- joint yoke and strap should be plenty strong 👍
They are kinda small but there’s 8 in total so I think they will hold up. We will see😁
Will you have too much plunge in your CVs when still is adjusted?
I’ve been a little concerned about that myself! I’ll check the limits of the axles once I get the trailing arms mounted. I built the trailing arms 15 years ago, but I believe the plunge was close to 0. I’m hoping that moving the center carrier for and aft will not introduce too much plunge!

That looks like an old motocross track with a giant step up in it! The buggy engine sounds great when you open it up a bit. Your video guy has some nice equipment and I think his editing skills are pretty decent too! I own a high-end commercial recording studio and we also started doing video in the last year and bought a bunch of black magic stuff and DJI stuff. Rock on I am a new subscriber

I use a DJI mavic air 2 for some of his videos but I just recently learned how to use my DJI ronin s. So I’m hoping to start using that for some steady more cinematic footage. DJI makes cinematography on a consumer level pretty easy! Thanks for watching

Yes, 12 front and 60 rear. I have an 11 tooth I will put on it when we take it to the sand dunes.

Yeah In one of the vids we left the audio as it was recorded and after about 50 mph you couldn’t even hear the engine anymore, just wind noise.
These buggys haul ass we have one with a snowmobile engine she's freaking wicked

Im building up 2 Roketa's, a Gk09 and Gk39. Any suggestions on a sufficient motor? I was thinking the predator 301cc or 420cc should be enough to pull them around
I think either one would be sufficient when coupled with a torque converter but I would prefer the 420 myself. Carol Shelby once said “there’s no such thing as too much hp. Just not enough traction!”

Yes. That’s what they need more than anything. They will be so grateful when they’re older. My uncle had me in the shop at 12 pulling engines. She found a new passion after this. Now she wants to learn more of the build process.
