    • @mudcontrol-uk

      Yes, they are designed to be laid straight on top of the mud or grass, they act as the sub-base and base in one. Thank you.

    How is your paddock today? How is the ground with a lot of rain? Did you also excavate soil? What was the cost? 😊

    • @mudcontrol-uk
      @mudcontrol-uk Год назад

      The slabs are currently £31.32 including VAT per square metre (4 slabs) so 70 square metres is £2192.40 including VAT. Plus delivery, which depends on the postcode area. The slabs are designed to go straight down onto the mud/soil/grass. They are completely free draining and protect the ground underneath them. Thank you.

    Stallions are notorious for trying to get out of their stalls.. Friend of mine had a stallion that was in his stall when he went to bed. The next morning he was in another stall with a mare, of course.🤣

    • @mudcontrol-uk
      @mudcontrol-uk 2 года назад

      Attacking it with an axe would surely be far more likely to frighten the horse. Patiently lifting him up off it worked well.

    I had a 14.3hh that done this in the trailer while we were travelling. Luckily another horsey lady stopped to help us 3 adults. Unfortunately he turned this into a party trick he would try to do each time he was in the trailer. He wasn't frightened just stupidly dense.

    Kudos to the stallion for staying so calm throughout this process. This is why I won't use the half doors. Stallion or not it's just an option I remove from the equation. 100 horses may never have a problem with it, but when one does it could be devastating. Thankfully it looks like all ended well here.

    Good job on the rescue team. Hope he's okay. This is why you keep stallions contained in stables and corrals w/ high fencing. Just a chest high stall door with an open top (which to no surprise he was stuck on) screams ignorance and/or negligence on the part of the owners.

    • @tinaannvyze7966
      @tinaannvyze7966 2 года назад

      Yes I was thinking this to but maybe the grinder would scare him

    • @tfrtrouble
      @tfrtrouble 2 года назад

      Well because just cutting the hinges of a very heavy metal-edged door with a half-ton horse caught on it would bring both door and horse crashing down uncontrollably together, probably killing or at least seriously injuring the horse! They rightly focused on lifting his weight off the door (in front and behind) to both remove the dangerous pressure from his belly and stabilize him so they could remove the door in the next step (see part 2 of the video)

    • @tfrtrouble
      @tfrtrouble 2 года назад

      @@angelabrass5707 There is no "away from him" in this situation. It is between his two sets of legs with his body resting on it. The door sliding (with force under his >500 kg/1000 pound weight) in either direction would violently knock his legs out from under him. And horses often don't survive broken legs. They did cut the door out but they had to get his weight off it first.

    I heard a lot of noise coming from a stall row across and down the way from ours. The caretakers were playing loud music and drinking heavily. I went to see if a horse was cast in a stall or what and found a filly in the same situation. Some of us got her down uninjured.
