I once had a DM alter my class without talking to me beforehand and when I asked why they changed my class I was called rude for asking them about it there was many other red flags but this was what made me quit that campaign this was my very first online game and it nearly put me off online games

In my very first campaign I made the mistake of posting a meme about mimics in the group chatroom the next session my DM put a door mimic into the game and it got a hold of my character when she looked into the keyhole to see if anybody was on the other side

My problem is the cost of the minis that you have to put together and paint. Who has time for that??

Not like this but in my campaign our DM very much has taken tunti heart that when there is combat… there’s multiple fights - so we have learned to value resources very very hard 😂 currently 3 sessions without a long rest, one time it was 4… I mean if we had a problem with it we would tell the DM - but he has definitely learned the way to make fights more difficult by doing several encounters that use resources per adventuring day. Then a few days with basically downtime… then once again a looooong go without a long rest 😂

I have not been able to keep stable d&d party. Friends move, scheduling issues, and more slowly split the party up until none of the original players are there. Because of this I have reuse the same homemade campaign multiple times now. Each Passover I grant it more details in complex relations. I have a whole quest Web mapped out with branching quest lines the interact a little bit.

Yeah I have kinda just recycled stuff. I sometimes even just take characters or areas from other campaigns I ran in the past and put it into my current setting.

I love this idea. We have split up the same world and each of our players are going to run a campaign in their own continent. That way we all get a chance to dm in a setting they are comfortable with or change it up since it's a new frontier. Some are even based on mythology and history of that continent so we all get to learn more about that real place.

Would you fail to realize is, dungeons& dragons is like nuclear radiation. You don't have to touch it in order to be affected by it. This poor man was just trying to save you from your delusions.
