This is a thought I had for a small-size HF directional antenna. In this experiment I am using the can as a shield around a piece of wire acting as the antenna, to explore if there is any directivity in this setup. The system is non-optimal, but the first quick test has shown that there is indeed some directivity. I have tested it in different HF bands and they all show directivity.
