One Minute of Nature
On the road to Mineral King, CA, you will find many beautiful sites but few places to actually stop as the road is extremely narrow and very windy. It's the longest 25 miles you'll ever drive.
This set of water falls is one of the few stops you can enjoy without blocking the road.

Oak Grove Cemetary

I find old cemeteries very interesting. This one is no different. When I find an old cemetery, I get curious as to how old the oldest grave might be. Often, they date back to the 1800's. Some of these old cemeteries even have recent burials in then, like this one does from 2023. #oldcemetary #California #explore #wonder #wander #history

2 days ago, there was a single line of campers down here. Now, it's 2-3 deep, and a few of those vehicles aren't going anywhere until several are moved. We're under a heat advisory until next Thursday and perhaps longer. Yesterday, 2 people were swept away at Riverside Park and were quickly rescued. The male and female were swept away at Keysville North and were not so lucky. The females body w...
Big Meadow and a small pond/meadow

The first part of the video is Big Meadow, one on many so named meadows in California (I know of 5 with that name). The second half is a small pond that I'm pretty sure alternates between a pond and a meadow, depending on the time of year and the rain/snow fall. #california #nature #explore #outdoors #hiking #sequoianationalforest
Skink The southern alligator lizard (Elgaria multicarinata).
Просмотров 664 месяца назад
There are a lot of these here at Lake Isabella. Their color and making vary greatly, so it's always nice to see them plus, they eat bugs. The southern alligator lizard (Elgaria multicarinata) is a common species of lizard in the family Anguidae. The species is native to the Pacific coast of North America.[1][2] It ranges from Baja California to the state of Washington and lives in a variety of ...

Two things happen to me when I listen to this thing I gotta pee and I want to take a nap😅
@@normramirez7354 🤣🤣🤣
Hey man I just met you at the hobby shop. Just making contact. It would be cool to wheel together
Y'all come back soon brother.
@@JustLizards4u That's my intention 💯
Where ya going? I must have missed the reason.
@JenBeezKneez I need a back operation, and with winter coming, I can't trust these roads to be open. I'll also require after care for a few months.
Well may the Lord bless you!❤@Lone_Feather
🇨🇦🌷🌹🌹🌺
Nice view Bud
@mashedorbaked7694 I can drive 30 feet from that spot anytime I like, and I like a lot👍🤣
@@Lone_Feather like you alot, glad to see out and about
@mashedorbaked7694 Thanks my friend.
Thank you for the update sad to see it burned down like that be safe out there
Beautiful ❤️
We’ve heard it all before, but I’ll say it again, she’s a mean piece of water
Sad news buddy, be careful
@@mashedorbaked7694 🙏🙏
Thank you for the videos really do appreciate them you stay safe out there especially in this heat
@adrianguzman1446 Thank you. It's comments like this that keep me going🙏
That really is a big meadow! Power to the Purple ✌️
Biggest one I know of, and I know four other meadows with the same name.
Someone got a drone 👍
Got two, actually 😎
Hehe, how on earth does a cute thing like this get named "alligator" lizard?
🤷♀️Right, especially since they look more like a snake and have a snake-like tongue.
great video
Thank you 🙏
Oh my😮
Great video……we’re up Old State and really were keeping an eye on it.
I spoke with the Public Information Officer, Jon Drucker, and the fire is 30% contained, and the forward progress was halted last night around midnight. I'll be posting a video soon.
Great documenting brother
Excellent capture.
Did they put it out?
There's still hot spots burnin.
@@Lone_Feather planning to go up next week to fish. Hopefully everyone is safe.
Nice Suprise
How’s the current at the moment and has the water dropped?
Today, above Kernville, it was over 2,300cfs, and they are releasing half of what's coming in. A couple of hours ago, 3 people decided it would be a good idea to get in an inflatable boat and go out on the lake, bad idea. Three helicopters and the search and rescue boat searched, and all three were found and all survived, luckily. The water is cold and will probably take your breath away. Plus, the wind is causing severe waves and white caps.
Thank you for the information
I love it!
Pretty sure that's an alligator lizard 🦎🍻
They are also called that, but they're a lizard of the Scincidae family and most commonly known as a skink or alligator lizard.
Yup all over up here.
Abronia is a genius of lizards in the family Anguidae. The genus is native to Northern Central America occurring mainly in Guatemala and Mexico however there are species that occur as far south as El Salvador and Honduras.😂
@minicrawlers.3.0 I have never seen one of those, so I looked it up. It's a pretty kewl looking lizard. It would be interesting if we had those here.
👍
How's the fishing
I haven't heard anyone complain, nor have I heard anyone bragging 🤷♂️ I did see the trout stocking truck headed towards Kernville today, though.
How do you know it’s 15’ in the ground?
The forestry dep. has a sign there explaining what happened and that they dug down to see why it wouldn't pull out (it wasn't guess work).
Because he felt it
Have you ever heard of Trail of Whispering Giants
No, I have not🤔 Where is that located 🤔
@@Lone_Feather This guy Peter "Wolf" Toth carved a statue in every state of the native people in that area.
Indian tribe??? What that oh you mean native people of that land
@@DjBulletsmadden Thank you, that is what I meant to say

Beautiful
Thanks for showing us that
You're welcome, and thanks for commenting 🙏👍
I know this area. Its been awhile so it's great to see it again.
Hello brother . Looks lovely
Thanks. I love living up here
What is the story with that little waterfall? Why? Where? What is that waterfall about?
That's water that has passed through the hydropower generator located upstream.
That rock reminds me of the San Gabriels where the "road to nowhere" stands testament that sometimes trying to maintain a road where mother earth is just not going to cooperate is not worth the battle.l
RIGHT! How did the evever manage to build it in the first place 🤔 The entire mountain is nothing but schist🤔
@@Lone_Feather It was completed during the time of the civilian conservation corps when there were a lot of unemployed men so fdr sent them to build roads and dams everywhere, needed or not. Them WWII came and all those men were drafted and unfinished projects were abandoned. then organizations like the CA based sierra club libbies for wilderness preservation and thankfully not a lot of roads were built through the few remaining wilderness areas, including the San Gabriel mtns.
@samshepperrd Awesome👍 and I'm glad they continue on. Those areas need to be left untouched (IMO).
@@Lone_Feather And organizations like CalTrout are removing dams built during that same period that do nothing but block steelhead and salmon from migrating mountain to sea like the ancestors of Kern River trout once did.
Nice
Thank you🙏I love living here.
Congratulations on 300 subs Brother!
Thank you 🙏

Oooops🤷♂️ I blame the sun...🤣
How did I miss this!
🤷♂️Thursday, they were super low as they passed over Halfway campground.
I noticed you pronounced Wawfford, as opposed to Woofford Heights 👍
I do that from time to time. I also say "Bob wire" rather than "bard wire" just to see who mentions it🤣🤣👌👍
Who is going to tell me that there isn’t any fish in there? It’s the only place they can be 👍
And they're big, too!
Now I gotta take a nap, Donnie love that sound
So calming
I love living here😁
I usually camp at Headquarters campsite down by Kernville where they fly a few hundred above, but last year camped up river near McNally's and they were within arms reach. They hit the boosters to make a sharp turn and the whole canyon rattled it was awesome!
This spot is very close to there.
Do you know if an intention has exited to restore the tree line around the lower elevations of the lake. I'm sure that before it was all logged, there were great forests in the lower valley.
That's a good question 🤔 I have no idea, sorry.
Beautiful area! I really need to come there for nostalgia purposes.
The river has blown up
