    Hum. I am suspicious? Why would Hezekiah commission a seal with an Egyptian pagan symbol, the ANK? What does the Ank symbolize? The ankh symbol-sometimes referred to as the key of life or the key of the nile-is representative of eternal life in Ancient Egypt. Created by Africans long ago, the ankh is said to be the first--or original--cross. (Google Search) What was special about King Hezekiah? Hezekiah enacted sweeping religious reforms, including a strict mandate for the sole worship of Yahweh and a prohibition on venerating other deities within the First Temple. He is considered a very righteous king in both the Second Book of Kings and the Second Book of Chronicles. Hezekiah would do nothing to offend his God Yahweh.

      @GospelandSpade 7 часов назад

      Thanks for the comment. Ultimately, we can not know for sure when the seal was created during the reign of Hezekiah, or why the ankh is present. First, the meaning of symbols can have multiple interpretations to different people over time. For instance, the swastika can be a simply decoration, a sun or good luck symbol, or represent the Nazi movement. Why not the ankh? That does not mean it was a good move for the king to make, but ultimately, no man is perfect, even the godliest. Secondly, you say that Hezekiah wouldn't deliberately offend his God. Well, at the end of his reign, Hezekiah's bragging to the Babylonian diplomats was a clear offence to God, which God declared would result in God judging Judah for and Hezekiah’s extremely unconcerned and selfish response to this news may indicate a negative change in the King's once very godly attitude. After all, Hezekiah was not a perfect man and even godly men can do foolish things. Maybe the seal was commissioned during the later part of the king's reign when his godliness was not as fervent as it was before. These are just some possible thoughts. Ultimately, we may never know the answer as to why this was done and any conjectures that we make can only be speculation at best.

    Ahasuerus is not Xerxes, but Darius I. Darius imposed taxation on 120 provinces from India to Egypt as Esther says Ahasuerus did. Esther was married to Darius I. In Ezra it mentions the Decree of King Cyrus and that he was bothered by the people against the Jews until Darius's reign, then immediately mentions Ahaseurus, because before Darius' reign he was called Ahaseurus when he was Viceroy, a Satrap of Xerxes before he was made king. When he was made King he was named Darius. Just like the British kings take different names when made King.

    why was Dan called "Lion Welp of Bashan"?

    • @GospelandSpade
      @GospelandSpade Месяц назад

      The verse (Deuteronomy 33:22l is speaking about the tribe of Dan and is comparing the tribe to a young lion, which are known for their strength and boldness. Most likely, Bashan was a well-known haunt for lions in Old Testament times and so that is why it connects the place with lions. So probably what this verse is talking about is that the tribe of Dan would boldly leap upon its prey much like a young lion in Bashan would do. Some also think it could be prophetically alluding to the later judge Samson, who was from the tribe of Dan and killed a lion and was also brave, strong and bold.

    Ahasuerus is Artaxerxes Longimanus because Daniel's prophecy in Dan 9 calculates the year of the Cross from his reign. Xerxes was never home. His son Artaxerxes Longimanus was at home and he ruled the same area. And Ezra says he was harassed about the Jews, this indicates the trouble with mordacai and Haman. Logical sense when you have the correct docs.

    Hello, I am a Biblical genealogist and I'd like to point out a couple things about this. Pedaiah son of Jehoiachin/Jeconiah (1 Chron 3:17-18) was born just after Jeconiah was taken captive too Babylon (after Mar 597BC). All of Jeconiah's children were born in Babylon. As such, its hard to explain why a bulla which would needs be created in Babylon would end up in Jerusalem. Also Jeconiah was stripped of his Kingship (3 month reign). Why would bulla make reference to a dethroned King? Another more likely possibility is this Bulla is of a Pedaiah son of an earlier King. A look at any Bible dictionary you'll find 7 Pedaiah's listed. It was apparently a common name. Whether one of these others Pedaiah's were a son of a King, or yet some other Pedaiah not mentioned in scripture, remains to be discovered. If the debris strata the bulla was taken from is close to the 600BC time frame, then maybe Josiah had a brother named Pedaiah?
