Thanks for the video! One nitpick, the final temple in the Japanese original version also heals all characters in addition to providing password (no saves in Jp version). It's not newly added to US version. Otherwise, the game would be pretty broken :)

Man, this is EXACTLY the kind of video I wanted to watch today; I’m so glad the algorithm randomly gave it to me! This video unlocked so many old memories. I played the Gameboy port of this back 20+ years ago. I’m remembering things like playing the lottery game and having to avoid / cast protection spells for all the damage tiles. There’s a portal in the final dungeon that also leads back to an earlier town if I recall correctly. I followed a printed strategy guide (remember those?) the whole way through, being a kid who liked following strategy guides. Maybe that’s why I didn’t think the game was too hard!

This was relaxing to listen to. Man I miss this game. I never liked Parry as a kid, but I started using it more as an adult.

Wow did Square do Rad Racer? I remember playing it a lot back when I was little along with Final Fantasy and River City Ransom!

My first venture into the game was on the game boy color and eventually I got it on the NES many years later when I was a teenager. I noticed a very big difference between how the game handled and played out. I actually really enjoyed the different names rendering different stats as a young man.

4:55 Dragon Slayer is made by Falcom, it's the first game / a precursor to the legend of heroes series, or in the last 20 years its more known as the Trails series. Square just published a port of it.

to me the game was never hard. Just had to find a good place to grind...I would never go anywhere unless i had the best armor or swords....i would beat the game at lvl 22 or 23...

Nice video, this game to this day is my all time favorite RPG. As a kid I always thought this game was based on the film Dragonslayer.
