Play Piano Play No.6 (Toccata) - Gulda, played by Jakob
I played this piece in the second Lockdown and it was a lot of fun to learn this "new" technique.
I hope you like that - a bit more technical - piece! :-)
See you in the comments!

You are magnificent
Jakob, just found you in my suggestions. I’m a huge fan of young pianists. You have just joined a very strong group of my favorites. Cole Lam, Elise Mysin, Pianoserd, Daniel Chien just to name a few. This rendition was superb! I’m a huge fan and new subscriber! God bless you and your music. 👍😀🙏🏻 Love the smile at the end. Take a bow. You deserve it!!
One of the most talented boys on the planet
Jakob not only are you an amazing pianist but you also have the most wonderful smile on YT.
Thats also how I play it! ... in my dreams. Love your smile Jakob. Any chance for new videos? greetings from Christian in Denmark
Marvelous rendition. Bravo, Sir! 👏🏻👏🏻
Sheer magic Jakob. You are a gift from God.
So much positive energy! Great job!
Fantastic! Play at 0.75 and it is perfect!
It's time for a "two years older" video from Jakob doing the Rag. Here you're very technically proficient but I hear the Maple Leaf Rag more as a louder, prouder more jaunty jump with sweet little light touches. Go ahead and bang on those keys! Picture a one-man band marching down the street trying to get everyone's attention.
Well done. 😉 Slow down a little so people may enjoy the the harmony of chords that Joplin wanted people to hear.
Bonne continuation Gamin.
A favorite
This is amazing! Keep up the great work! ❤
Lindo!!!!!!!!!
I was playing the same thing on my parent's 1893 Kimball piano when I was 14.... you are a smidgen better, but the dog thought I was good! LOL...Keep up the good work!
Fantastic performance. You are an excellent pianist. I hope we see many more utube videos of you .
Very well done my friend! I’d like to learn how to play this piece of music in the future! Again great job and keep up the good work :D
Old Roblox player: this shit rocks hard
Favorite rendition on the app.
すごい...!繊細な指の動きに翻弄されました...!amazing!!
How old are you here?
No disappointments here!
Absolute perfection! Ragtime is never easy to master, especially without the sheet music in front of you! Bravo! Hope you post more of your work!
sehr gut Jakob Fenzel !! Grüße aus Germany Hans Fenzel
Most people here don't realize how difficult this is to play. Very, very hard to nail all the notes with your hands flying around. I'm curious about that piano. There's no name on it. Was it refinished? Have you ever tried tuning it? If you're careful its not difficult. One tuning hammer and some rubber stoppers and an electronic tuner and you're set. A lot of keys aren't quite in tune and you could fix that in a few minutes. Maybe the pins on the soundboard are a little loose. Most people don't know how easy it is to tune a piano because piano tuners want to seem indispensable. Most of their pricing is ludicrous as well. Having maybe $30 - $40 in equipment means you don't need them hardly ever and your piano will always sound "right". I wanted to point out your great phrasing at 1:26 where the right hand takes on a totally different character in this piece. It really stands out. Very striking. Have you ever tried any Chopin or Debussy or Ravel? You're definitely up to it. You'd love the flexibility in the rhythm that's allowed in that era of music. ruclips.net/video/y5QAj175IJg/видео.html Here is a technical marvel with finger control few people in the world possess doing it. Pay attention to the rhythm though as he doesn't always stick to it; some people like it and some don't. But also note how his technique doesn't falter and all the notes get clearly drawn out even in the very quiet parts which any pianist knows is just brutally difficult. It brings such drama to the piece when it gets so hushed. I feel he's playing it too fast and I notice a lot of people with exceptional technical control like this guy are prone to do that "because they can" though the music may not call for it. We have to put the music above ourselves always. The original composer is always the boss though that is open to reasonable interpretation. Its really important to play the type of music you excel in as well as working on the weak areas but most of the time needs to be spent in the enjoyable areas otherwise its easy to overload and walk away and then its just a colossal waste. A lot of parents that aren't musical themselves don't understand this and think music playing is more mechanical but its anything but. Its not like cleaning up a room! I say this because it looks like you're really playing spontaneously and that is so good to see. I see a lot of performers regimented by their teachers and parents that have squeezed the musical life out of them so they dread performing and practising and do it with a robotic style that is gruesome on the ears. So its great you're in a much better environment. I mention this for other parents that are wondering how strong to push. I would say not very strong. Rather focus on exposing the child to many different aspects of music and closely monitor their reactions.
Thank you for your feedback! I‘ll ask my Dad about the piano brand! Yeah, i want to play Chopin in the future also. The guy in the video is really a musical-genius. But i also think, that he‘s playing it a little bit too fast.
@@jakobfenzel4105 Yeah it happens a lot. Sometimes its nerves as well. If we're nervous we just want to get it over with so we can feel that peace afterwards. Nerves are difficult to deal with. Maybe we just shouldn't care. Then we'd be free to perform with all that distraction. Our own mind can be puzzling to understand.
I’m 12 and it took me like six months to her in the beginning part but it was great it was all in good fun
Great!
i'm 15 and very into piano too, ive been playing since i was 4 and this song still beats me! very well done:)
Thank you!
Wonderful! I really enjoyed your Maple Leaf Rag. You're awesome!
Thank you! 😄
I am 12 and I can play this song. Pretty hard learned it in about a few weeks
Great!
Too fast!
Some like it faster, some like it slower…I think everyone should play it the way they like best 😄
As a ragtime player, I quite admire the dedication in the video! Many non-musicians don't realize how hard ragtime is! Many musicians avoid it as it is extremely hard to sight read and usually requires a lot of practice.. In this piece, especially the third part, is particularly difficult. Hardest bars to play in my opinion is near the end of the hardest section: the third section, at 1:33. (At least when i first practiced it) Even so, Jakob played these parts really well.
Completely agree.... have been working on the first two parts for quite a while now, but it's almost an impossible task with the rhythm stuff going on in the left and right hand. Although you do get used to the patterns in the song, which does speed up the progress a bit lately.
Thank you very much! 😁
It's not very hard, (Or well at least for me) I practiced piano from 0% in like 2 months and then i decided to learn this song, i learned the 2 first parts in 2 days , and i learned the full song in 2 weeks, maybe some people has more "Skill?" idk, but for me the rag time isn't hard.
@@danteyt5191 Depends on what you play often and how long you've played piano
@@akamundi864 That's why i say it, because i started to play piano in just 2 months and just like 15 minutes every day, and then i decided to practice this song and i learned to play it full in 2 weeks with 30 minutes of practice everyday. I think that it depends too in "Birth skills", because it wasn't hard for me, but it can be an impossible song for others to play in just 2 months of experience with piano.
This is one talented lad indeed.
Fantastic effort! Almost there! Keep at it; you're great!
Great playing! Don't stop :)

Beautiful job!
Fantastic
Thanks!
@UCB6pDr0jej4ev1FJc0DBnPQ @ I've heard all recordings of The Maple Leaf Rag on You Tube and none are as good as you. I sure can't play it at that speed, which is the correct tempo for Ragtime music! Great job and I hope you learn other Scott Joplin pieces and put on your channel soon!
Thank you very much!!!
Congratulations
Thank you!
I remember playing this rag by Scott Joplin. One my favorites.
BRAVO! You got not only the technique (which is very challenging) - you also got the spirit of the piece. I am sure Scott Joplin would have loved to hear you play his music. And your parents must be VERY proud. Keep it up!
Thank you! I really appreciate your feedback 😁
Well done ! This is a hard piece and the left hand part of section 3 is the hardest and you still did well. Will look forward to more rags from you.
Thank you! There will be some rags too, but currently I’m working on some other pieces 😊
How many takes? 😉
I think it were 4 or so 😄
哇塞!太棒了吧!!超级喜欢你的音乐~
Thank you!
Your left hand stride is very good...find Fats Waller playing Fat and Greasy then stand back!
