For the life of me, I cannot just delete a component from the timeline. I can only "remove" it, which create a a new feature that shows it being removed, but the component and it's feature is still in the timeline, no matter if I select the command delete. What can I do?

All you have done is capture the profile. You still have to convert them to a sketch so that you can use them.

The issue I've been having. I'm positive it's me; my issue is aligning all the objects on the same plane. Let me clarify. When I draw two objects and edit them various times, one of the bodies will inevitably decide to float off the reference plane. This means one object is on the primary (Call it the ground plane), and the second object will float a few mm off the reference plane. This accidental offset causes my slicer to have nothing but fits. To prevent this "Floating" object, the slicer decides to add supports and destroys the intended face on the print bed. When I go back and check the drawing in Fusion 360, sure enough, the secondary object has moved off the reference plane. How do I force them back to the same level? I thought the Align tool would help achieve this, but to use a Microsoft Reference...."Undocumented features" happened, and my alignment of the reference plane was toast.

hey I am using this to create foam inserts for a product. The product itself is an assembly and it is not working very well. I am trying to make a cutout but it keeps telling me there is no target cell. Any advice?

After using several CAD and CAM programs for some 35 years, Solidworks being one of them., I purchased a year subscription of Fusion after seeing online tutorials. I even practiced for the free, trial month. HOWEVER, when it came to designing my project, I realized how awful and awkward Fusion is. I gave it four months to learn and have given up. It is not worth the time or irritation. I don’t know for whom this product is designed for. engineers don’t think or work this way. Autodesk would charge an arm and a leg in subscriptions fees if it was anything worth using. They have tried awfuly hard to reinvent something that didn’t need inventing.

How is the colour turned off after the analysis is finished with?

this is dumb af, sure if you ALREADY know what shape you want its easy to build it up but taking an object and flattening it into a net shape is seemingly impossible for fusion because its so fkn basic.

is having good background on soildwork will help learing fusion 360

i dont' have any of those options under modify.. most people will be trying to do this with stl. what am i doing wrong?

I found solidworks experience has feature reduction from the professional Solidworks, for example, surface creation feature. That’s kind of a bummer.

biggest problem for me when moving over to solidworks from fusion is that im so used to drawing on a grid with snap, thats just so fast and easy. in solidwork as i understand it you just draw a shape you need and then you have to ad alot of measurements to it untill it's what you need and where you need it.

why is there no smooth feature in my fusion 360 ?

There are times we go off grid and I want to just work on some models and don't have internet. Looks like SolidWorks is out of the question for me. Might look into Solidedge as well. I use Fusion 360 currently.

Where the damn “bend lines” come from?

It gave me a sketch but i can't do anything with it. What am i missing? The line are orange, I cant use the sketch to create new solid nor can I project them in a new sketch. I also can't select them when editing the sketch.

- BTW, DXF can be saved out from F360/'Personal' (free): via rclick sketch item in Tree, then 'Save as DXF' (this is in contrast to 'File>Export:DXF - which is not a good practice anyhow; in fact, I've never done that in 8 years of using F360, under 'Personal', or 'Commercial').

Is there a way to change the draft angle colours? I'm used to Green and Red for either sides. The dark blue is really hard to read. I see the red is for straight and yellow related to near tolerance. but wish you could specify the actual colours. at least make the blue bright blue!
