Thank you very much 😁😁
Great video Carlos like the roots on it mate good luck with the design dude 👊👊
Thank you. It came out pretty decent 😁
First
Waste of time. Disappointed because we wanted to see if my sons plant was revivable .😠
Bonsai trees are something sacred, they live in the home with you, until they get an identity. Sometimes that takes generations. Eventually, they get forgotten somewhere, and the roots grow through the pot if its clay, and it just becomes a regular tree.
Yes it's just so amazing how many years they can live. I have seem a tree that roota came out the pot and broke and became a regular tree
it really looks nice, do you think this is a tree that could survive tropical weather happily? (I'm costa rican, average temp is like 27C over here and we have tropical rain almost everyday)
It loves tropical climate and will grow super fast. Wish i had that time of climate here in texas 😅
I just found a ton of juniper seedlings in my front yard. There's at least 100. I just bought this house a couple years ago, and just found them now. They're babies.
Wow that is just amazing , is like finding gold 😁. Good luck with them
@@lifeofbonsai My thoughts exactly. Pulling the weeds out from around them makes me feel like a miner.
@@multipletanksyndrome haha i know the feeling. in the ground they will grow fast
i just got one from a nursery and it has browning in between its little branches and the foliage rather than from its leaves inward if that makes sense. what could this indicate and what should i do? thank you in advance!
It is normal, the inner foliage doesn't get too much light and dies off, you might want to prune it a bit to allow more light into the branches
Looks great
Thank you😁
Can Nandina be grown indoors? Or at least brought in for winter as a houseplant
Hi they cannot . They need winter dormancy as well
My bonsai is fucus. Due to overwatering the plant roots has been dead.I have removed the roots totally because they are dead and i repotted the plant The leaves have been falling down day by day but my stem is alive. How can i recover it 😢please respond
Remove all the leafs leave only about 20% and put it in shade. Water only when soil is drying out
great video, any idea why my new leaves are also starting to turn light brown and diee, they also look crunchy! is it too much sunlight or a humidity issue?
It really depends on what tree species it is. And what conditions it is growing in
@@lifeofbonsai its ficus ginseng bonsai..
@@lifeofbonsai im in the middle east , the temperatures here are amongst the hottest worldwide
@@tawhidakhan6051 i would put it in shade and repot into better draining soil Sounds like root rot
Very good technik that you show me. Thanks:D save me 20 Liveyears :D
It really does save alot of time 😁
Oh nah. I just brought my plants in bc of an adult opossum that I saw last night 😮💨.
Oh no, this little guys really making us nervous with our plants 😩
Bobcat pee works like a charm.
Ahhh now to see were i can get it😬😅
What did you pot them in? Looks like all pumice or perlite?
Yes pure pumice
@@lifeofbonsai why pure pumice for the field growns? Obviously drainage and water. But what are the other benefits compared to other mediums?
@@ScottTheExperimentalist For that i know it helps bring plenty of oxygen to the new forming roots and makes it easier to repot to better soil. Jst have to be watered more often
@@lifeofbonsai thanks! I just removed a Japanese maple from my neighbors yard and planted it in a wood box with chunky perlite, vermiculite, and fine pine bark. With similar goals in mind
@@ScottTheExperimentalist yes that will definitely work . Jst water when needed and best of luck😁
Nice Carlos Big trees mate
They are nice ones😁
What soil are you using?
Hi i used a mix of Akadama , lava and pumise
I lost 2 beautiful junipers 1 was 5 years in my care not sure why it browned Bec it was kept outside & I gave them ample water but from the tips it started browning then died.am on my 3rd juniper , nice & healthy put in a bonsai pot with bonsai soil recently got a nice 2nd 1 from da mum tree but it seems stressed & has browned @ the tips am hoping I can save it.
Yes i haven't had the best luck with junipers, i think it might have beed that it was repotted at the wrong time. I would put it in full shade and water only when needed and jst leave there . Hope it recovers
I like and respect raccoons, they are interesting! BUT CRITTERS BE DAMNED!!! Sorry that that happened to ur trees, brother……. total bummer. I have to deal with little bunnies that prune my trees for me, it sucks!!
I feel the same way. I feel bad for them but at the same time it does make me upset that it had to mess with bonsai trees. But hope it doesn't come back. If is not one thing is another
@@lifeofbonsaiI appreciate and respect how u are choosing to use a “live” trap vs a kill trap. The raccoon will also appreciate it once caught.
Should put a tree in the trap, he likes them a lot.
Haha this is actually a good one 🤣
Could your fertilizer be attracting it?
That could be. Was thinking also the water tray were the bald cypress is..but hasn't come back
I was thinking the same thing.
This little trouble maker😢😢
I know 😬 i hope he doesn't come back
I used to adore rabbits squirrels racoons, etc.... and then I got into bonsai. Now when I see them on the road I speed up.
Haha they are just such trouble makers, too destructive
🤣🤣
Hope he doesn’t come back Carlos Bad luck on the trees mate 👊👊

Dam I payed 120$ for mine and it’s pretty much dead
Oh trust me it sucks. A 250 dollar tree i got didn't make it 😩
Juniper or pine : edit: also privet or elm broom style
An idea for the one in the back left mount the roots over a stone or something and have it go off to the side at an angle so the trunk actually angles straight up or slightly offset to your tastes, these are awesome finds!
I really do love that idea ! And i actually got a nice rock for this specific . Thanks for the idea 😁
Carlos, I personally have had good results with fusing/ grafting with "Vet Tape" I got the idea from Tony of "Tony's Bonsai." I've fused mostly ficus so far but I do have 3 Pomegranate whips I bunched together only 3 months ago and they are already starting to fuse! I love the vet tape for attaching Root Over Rock as well.
Thank you so so much for this tip. I will definitely be getting it because i do not want this grafts to fail again , haven't made progress with this tree due to the same reason
This is the size I hope to grow my regular F. benjamina especially since the leaves are on the bigger side.
Yes this szi is perfect for the leafs it has
Do your ficus benjaminas lose many leaves when you bring them in for winter? Mine lose so many you would think they are goners but they usually adapt to my grow lights in time.
This benjamina doesn't lose leafs but i have willow leaf ficus that drop most of them and barely grow anything until spring comes
I'm pretty sure I entered on your giveaway video, but just in case, my favorite species is American Hornbeam.
If my bonsai space was limited to a balcony, it would look like yours for sure. Good tour 👍🏽
Yesss is limited i never want to get rid of my trees but i get new ones and can't have all
I have become a huge fan of ficus..
They are just amazing . I love them!
I've a trained a twin coconut tree nto a bonsai. They are 25+ years old now. I have not seen any thing like that anywhere
@@BalaDass-b3h wow that does sound amazing , i always love when someone does things different . I net that tree looks amazing
Very nice and a lot of dedicated effort have gone in to bring to this level of wonders.
You deserve a sub brother thanks for bringing me this info
@@TheSlightLunatic thank you very much for your support
Your videos are always informative and a pleasure to watch thank you !
I really appreciate your support 😁
I have two Ficus Benjamina that I started from cuttings last Oct/Nov and they sat dormant for a while as it was basically ‘ winter’ here in FL, even dropped the leaves at one point. Today they are growing like weeds and they did back bud with barely no root system. Cut it back hard! Next spring. Leave leaves where you can but go for it Carlos! The tree will not be what it could be, the branches are just too lanky. If you cut it back and it gives you lemons, make lemonade! Also they grow pretty fast you could easily start a new tree of the same style if you really want that upright style. However I think a strong tree like that will give buds with some fertilizer, good soil and, sun. Regulate the apex growth so the side branches get stronger. Good luck on whatever you do!
Thank you very much for the feedback. Yes is way too leggy it neess to be more compact . I tried doing thay with a back branch but it just died and never got back bud, so will starr cutting it back a bit more aggressive 😁🌳
@@lifeofbonsai it’s best if you cut all of the branches at the same time. The tree will go into ‘shock’ /survival mode and try to bud out like crazy.
Nice Carlos 👊👊
Thank you. Been doing good?
Love the tree. I just got one and I’m still learning. What are some care tips you could give me?
The don't like to be dry so water planty if its in good draining soil only, make sure to bring it indoors or a heated greenhouse once once temperatures droo below 60

They brown like that naturally lmao it’s definitely going to be okay, if the leaves were dead they would be stiff and easy to break
Sometimes but not all the time, is a video to help others if it's something normal or if the tree is under stress
