I agree, I thought the first half of the show was awesome, great animation and fight scenes and the second half kind of fell off for me.The first episode pulls you in by giving you the tragedy of Higan losing his family right in front of him. Then he goes out on a quest for revenge and we see just how dangerous he is and even the leader of the ninjas knows not to underestimate him, even though everyone else around him thinks they're gonna just smoke him. Higan, Zai and Mari's backstory was good to, but I didnt really like the mechs and the whole robot ninja suits coming into play, and the CGI animation was much worse imo compared to the beautiful hand drawn they had before.

Facts I split the season into thirds 1/3- fire 2/3- mid 3/3- just downhill

I agree. The immersion hit me first when I noticed they didn't take the route of everyone being able to understand each other. I was thinking "what would it have been like to to travel to this island not know what anyone is saying and try to find a way to communicate?" The culture shock that Blackthorne witnessed when Kashigi was about to off himself instead of drowning was a great moment for him because he thought of them as savages.
