      We will send details of which program you will need. We will use simulation for much of the class (rather than standing at the machine) so a separate windows computer is best but you can bring the one from your pro stitcher if you don't have one. We will explain it all on an email. Everyone needs to be on the same level of software.

      Deb, in theory you can, by purchasing a conversion kit and a frame from Handi Quilter and having your dealer install it. But you will probably be better off selling your Sweet 16 and purchasing a new Handi Quilter machine and frame as the overall cost will probably be less. And you will get a new 5-year warranty too!

  • @happytraveller8953

    And does the bobbin cleaning apply to the Amara as well?? I recall instructions for oiling from the front, not the top???

    • @PinholeQuilting
      @PinholeQuilting 4 месяца назад

      The bobbin cleaning is normally done from the front. The top plate can be removed for removing the lint and while it's open you may as well put a drop of oil in from the top. It does the same thing. This applies to the Amara as well as the other Handi Quilter machines. The Infinity has a different stitch plate so it has to be removed differently.

  • @happytraveller8953
    @happytraveller8953 4 месяца назад

    How difficult is it to actually remove the main frame of the machine so you can get to the undercarriage for cleaning?? Is this best left to Derek and Sandra at maintenance time?? I'd be afraid of messing something up or dropping it due to the weight. Thanks.

    • @PinholeQuilting
      @PinholeQuilting 6 месяцев назад

      Hi Laura. Are the bobbins spongy as well as having the issue with bulging thread at the same time? If so, it is likely that the lack of tension is causing the issue. You can adjust the spring on the tension knob by tightening (to the right) to see if increased tension improves it.

    Thank you for your tutorials. New to Handiquilter Moxie XL on Loft frame but not new to longarm quilting. Needing to learn some new muscle memory after quilting on my previous setup for 12 years. I don't have access to the back of my frame...well, depending on how skinny I feel that day...do you have a suggestion for how to load on the Loft frame, set in low position, from the front with Red Snappers? I end up with my snappers in between the quilt sandwich when I get to the end...not easy to remove them...

    • @PinholeQuilting
      @PinholeQuilting 6 месяцев назад

      Hmmmm..not sure why your snappers are in between the quilt sandwich when you get to the end. Are you removing them from the top fabric and basting when you do the final pass? I use pins, not snappers so maybe I haven't understood why that is happening. The Moxie XL is a great machine!

    • @carlasmurphy4929
      @carlasmurphy4929 6 месяцев назад

      @@PinholeQuilting Thanks for the quick response! Figured out it was my eagerness and muscle memory from previous setup. Just grabbed some fabric to try it out and had a top that was longer than the backing, so I hadn't floated the bottom edge of the top. Still haven't figured out how to load the backing onto the takeup bar from the front of the frame without having to lean so far....workin' on it. Got Pro-Stitcher Lite installed today. FABULOUS!

    • @PinholeQuilting
      @PinholeQuilting 6 месяцев назад

      Hi Carla I'm not sure you can do anything else other than to lean when using the snappers. The only alternative I can think of is to have extra long cloth leaders on the take up rail so that you could push the snappers on using one of the front rails instead of having to lean. The Moxie XL can have quilting from the back which the Capri conversion can't. The XL can also use Pro-Stitcher Lite which the Capri conversion can't. Stitch quality wise I would not say there was a lot between them. Lighting is very similar. The Moxie XL is on a 4-track Loft Frame system whereas the Capri could go on a Studio frame. The Moxie XL has a newer and larger screen. Overall the Moxie XL has more features.

    • @PinholeQuilting

      If they are distorted and can't be persuaded back into shape we would recommend replacing it. If it is falling out regularly or you are having stitching issues that you suspect are due to the back lash spring.

      Hi @sylviagould1624 it doesn't have a needle threader but the needles are very easy to thread. Use the technique of going down the groove in the needle

    I hope you are having Yorkshire puddings with that beef! (I may live in Cumbria but I am Yorkshire born and bred)

      We most certainly are. And what's more, my son-in-law is a Yorkshireman and makes the best ones, so that's his job for today!

    Wow I am trying this asap on my ruler foot - it is most definitely off centre and have just compensated as well as I could by eye!!

      You can do it! And yes, it's also important to get the ruler foot centred. It makes sure all your ruler work is accurate in all directions.
