Blood tracking with dogs and old time conversation
Hey bud, I am in the process of getting my dog trained to track. I am brand new to this. I’ve been watching your channel for about a year. I notice that it doesn’t appear that you use tracking collars on your dogs. I plan on only tracking with a lead and was wondering what your thoughts were on need for a collar. It’s quite expensive. Any response would be appreciated.
@@RusselJesclard thank you for subscribing and I’m glad you enjoy the content! Make sure you definitely look at your state laws to see if you’re in a “On Lead Only State” here in Pa you can only track on lead. Thats why I usually don’t track with GPS collars on my dogs. However, Garmin makes some great collars that can be used in all kinds of ways. And it is a nice back up incase they slip out of their collar or harness and run away. Or even just seeing your track after you recover a deer to see how far and where you went. I do highly recommend Garmin.
Thank you for the response! I really look forward to this seasons tracks with you.
Good job. Better get some good lights. People are usualy amazed to see dogs track during or after hard rain.
Too easy for poachers to hunt deer aided by a thermal drone it’s worse than spotlighting if you ask me
Great job 👍. I love watching these dogs/owners work.
IT LOOKED LIKE YOU HAD A MISFIRE NOT A JAM. CONGRATS NICE BIRD. WOULD YOU BE SO KIND AS TO SHARE WHAT BRAND AND MODEL OF MOUTH CALL YOU UJSED IT SOUNDED VERY GOOD.
Hey buddie . I live near the pa border . Near eire . How far are u From there ? Wana get together next season ?

Jammed gun is a total FU!. Be prepared!
What's the gun ? 2 clicks and a reload, maybe junk in the firing pin channel? ,weak hammer spring ? Congrats on the bird 👍
He didn't know what it was, but he shot anyways . My father in law got shot like that
you obviously didn't pay attention. I said I didn't know what is was at first until it took a couple steps and I could see the rest of the bird, it's also why I was moving around to try and get a better look. he was behind thick green briars so it was hard to tell until he walked out into the open.
Good video keep them coming
Great video looking forward to following your channel.
Great video
Another good video
Good video
Nice bird! Congratulations
Awesome recoveries, made some hunters awfully happy, great video as well, thanks for sharing 👍
Timber did a great job, way to go team 👍
I think that was a awesome track, if only we could read the minds of our dogs👍
Good stuff. PA shed hunting is tough, farms are definitely the key.
👍
Nice Pup!
Way to go!
Outstanding job, and another happy hunter 👍
How long have you been tracking and how can i learn how to train a dog lke yours thanks
Love the videos
Great recovery, lost it a little at the end because of the coyote tracks all around 👍
Good boy Denver. 🐕
Did anyone notice the snow gone from ground about 20 feet out from deer??? What caused it
Thanks for the video, well done. What references / sources did you use to learn to train yourself and your dog to track wounded/harvested deer? Thanks.
Nice track, my bloodhound recovered a gut shot deer today as well, his first, proud of my boy👍
how long of a lead are you using when your tracking?
we use a 30' lead
im glad some of us are tracking this year.......
That’s why they call Seth and Timber to get it done right !
Awesome job! Super nice buck and another happy hunter👍. Keep up the nice work!
Nice work. Y'alls game laws are very unfortunate for the dog. He'd make a lot quicker work if he didn't have to drag you through the brush.
Congrats on the 50th Recovery! What Caliber round was used?
right, I want to know also and what bullet it was. So I can NEVER use it!
they were using a 243. Don't remember the grain of bullet though.
It was a Savage Axis 243 with a 100 grain bullet. I'd say it's a light setup for deer but it typically does a surprising amount of damage. This was a hard quartering away shot with the entrance in the guts. Not sure what stopped the bullet but it didn't have enough juice to get a pass through. Huge thanks to Seth and Timber for helping us make this recovery!
Congrats to you and the hunter
Just found your channel. Great content. My dog is smaller, but I love the drive in these dogs. One important thing I’ve learned from doing this is don’t let the hunters tell you what direction the deer went. Trust your dog 100%. Head down, tail up means they are on it. I’ve heard 100x. I don’t think it went that way. To only have the dog prove them wrong. Keep up the good work buddy 👍👍
Wow... what a nice one. I bet you were happy to help him find that guy!
Great job
Where at in pa??
Allegheny county, downtawn in the burgh.
it was in somerset
Awesome track, had your work cut out for you on that track, great buck👍
Yeah and for the State of Pennsylvania that is a big buck
That was a awesome track, love your dog, I was wondering where you got your lead line from. I have a bloodhound and he pulls hard, the one's I've seen seam to be narrow like 1/2". Thanks 👍
@user-gt3qr9yi4z It's actually just a friend that makes them himself!
That was a crazy track, better than a briar patch 👍.
Where did you get you lead rope?
Awesome tracks!! Way to go Timber Team!
The music sucks so bad I couldn’t watch the video.
Good Stuff. Nice deer. Good dog. Thanks for sharing
Another on the Tailgate!
