Amazon reviews are full of horror stories of aquarium heater mishaps, so I bought a temperature controler to plug my aquarium heaters into as a failsafe. It doesn't always keep my tank up to the temperature I prefer, but it has an alarm on it if the temperature goes above or below my set temperature.

Looks lovely, I've been wanting to setup a scape for a betta this tank looks amazing but have concerns that it has no lid as bettas can jump, how would you fix this issue?

Whilst it's improved, I still find it disappointing with the product compared to the current integration in digital factor from EHEIM. In the current market, EHEIM filtration products are just far more superior and user friendlier. And the BIOMASTER overhaul, to me, seemingly underwhelm.

The flow claimed is still the same from the old to the new style filters. Like all external filters the “real” flow from them is much lower than is claimed. It would be interesting to know how much they are actually producing when full of media. I’m probably going to get another Oase to compliment my 3 year old 600 thermo which has been great. I’ve got the updated pre filter tube on it and don’t mind the old style hoses etc. I think I would probably go for the older type 850 over these newer ones.

Can never understand why so many companies have the biological media in the bottom of the filter ,so wrong in so many ways wish these companies could sort it out.

This is pretty much exactly what I'm doing with my currently in use Scaper 60 when my new Scaper 90 arrives. Invested in the substrate from Blackwater UK too.

Great video and content again. Really enjoying your videos. Random question I have a 5ft planted rainbow fish tank and would like to invest in a better quality plant light. Currently runs fluval aqua sky light (was first one I found in that kind of size) some plants do great and others not so much. Do you have a light you’d recommend for that size. Doesn’t necessarily need to be budget just good all round preformer for all plants

You have the extender on the filter inlet - removing it would allow you to bank up at the back a little more.

When you said I haven't cleaned the main filter in quite a while, how long is that? I run 45ppi sponges on my prefilter, which I clean fortnightly, and clean the main filter every 6 months. Both are cleaner than yours were, so I can only assume you have a lot higher bioload than I do. I have one biomaster 600 thermo on a 340 litre mixed community tank.

Love this. I did a riverscape with a mix of vallis and elodea at the back. Mine has got pearl danios and leopard danios. I put in a power head for extra flow, which they seem to love.
