I have a Jura F50, made in 2003. I bought it used and made about 1.5k cups so far. its still going strong

The problem with this method is that the sheet must be re-welded (not glued). On many DS there is a noise protection coating, which is protected by a stainless steel sheet. Do you also cut it out? Even if it takes a long time, the advantage of removing the engine is to check a lot of other components: the clutch, the engine supports, cleaning everything, looking for all potential leakages... Tyvärr fanns det inte någon lösning, jag fick en ny på garanti. (3:e gången) Den nya krånglade också efter ett halvår.. då lessnade jag och köpte en Electrolux Pure i9, den har fungerat klockrent sedan dess!
Vad är lösningen ?
I have to this job soon on a friend's DS. I suspect it may not go this smoothly. I was intending removing the exhaust manifold. I might try it now with the exhaust in situ. Cheers.

I think a fair few of these cars were 'butchered' in this way back in the day in order to change or re-tension the timing chain. Horrible job to do 'properly'.

I found a solution! Remove the brush and let the robot do its job without it. Basically what it does is to allow the engine to spin without a load which should help destroying all the hair blocking it. Basically what you do next is to install the brush and manually spin it, a bunch of hair should appear and you remove it. I did it only once and it worked! I hope this helps people.
I had this problem, my solution was to shine a torch at the sprocket the elastic band winds around, it was clogged with hair, pull it out with tweezers and it started working again. 👍

Did you have any issues with initial static timing setup ?
No, there was no big issues, the timing ware not right the first time I tried to start the engine. I just turned the house I little bit and the engine started, and then I could use the timing lamp to set the right position.

I had this problem after 2 days of buying it, and thought I had to ring up the manufacturer. Thank God I RUclips first, and this video has saved me so much hassle.
En DS-motor knackar alltid, mer eller mindre! (eller har ett högt ventil-mekanism-ljud). Det är i alla fall min erfarenhet efter att ha kört sådana här bilar sedan 1972.

what about the heatshield? Did it have one? Did you cut through that as well? I'm sorry but you should have titled this video the laziest way to the timing cover. Hope you had a fire extinguisher handy too. Dumb!
D Spécial, Of course I removed the heatshield first. Yes, it’s a “lazy” way to do it.. but if you are in a small garage and don’t have access to a engine-lift, what to do.. I’m not a pro car mechanic, just a happy amateur. I didn’t say it was the “right” way to go.
@@pelleh67 Hi Per, I am planning to do this to my car. How do you remove the heat shield- is it from below? I see nothing wrong with this method as long as a decent way of refitting is done. I intend to weld some tabs on and bolt through them. Many thanks.....Steve

Dag Krogh, Nä, jag har inte lagt ner mer tid på det problemet. Jag får helt enkelt leva med det. :-). Motorn startar jättelätt och fungerar, det är huvudsaken.

Its so impressive how fast windows 8 is lol. Perfect on my netbook, but OMG, xp is the best in parallels desktop on my iMac lol. checkout my latest video (video response) (13secs long). I was blown over lol
I used the built-in. 999 frames, one every 5 sec.
